Today in CNN I read that a nursing student at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Her name was Maura Murray and she was 21 years old. She went missing when she had ran her car into a tree on a snowy night and reportedly went missing. This had happened in February 2004. shortly after the accident a passing bus driver asked her if she needed any help which afterward she declined. Then about 10 minutes later the cops showed up and there was a bunch of stuff in her car but she was missing including her car keys for some reason. Her family says that she had no intentions of running away and that she was happy but police say what she had in her car was enough for a small vacation. But I think if she left she would have contacted them because it was almost 5 years ago.
I think that she was probably killed because she has been missing for almost 5 years and no one has said anything or found anything out since then.
In today's news I had read that their was story about a British man raping his two daughters. The two daughters were made pregnant 19 times. five miscarriages and five terminations. Seven of the children are alive but suffer genetic deformities. He was pleaded guilty Tuesday in northern England and was sentenced to 25 years to life. The father had been reaping the daughters for the past 30 years. The pares had begun in 1981. the daughters had called child line in 1998 but no one really responded to their cry for help. I think its ridiculous of how this sick guy even gets to have a chance to see the light again. It was also said that the father would beat the daughters, by kicking, punching, or held a flame of gas to their eyes and arms.
Both sides in the murder trial of Lillo Brancato agree on one thing: The once promising actor was a junkie who hit bottom on December 10, 2005 -- the night an off-duty police officer was killed during a burglary.
Up-and-coming actor Lillo Brancato, 32, got hooked on drugs and is on trial, charged with killing a cop.
In opening statements Monday, jurors were asked to decide whether Brancato was a partner in crime with a man already convicted of shooting and killing the officer or merely a bystander.
Brancato -- who got his start in the film "A Bronx Tale" and later appeared in "The Sopranos" -- was led into the courtroom in a neatly tailored gray suit and handcuffs.
Prosecutors say Brancato and Steven Armento tried to break into the Bronx apartment to swipe prescription drugs after a night of drinking at a strip club.
"In their effort to get drugs to satisfy their own desires, they took the life of a New York City police officer," said Assistant District Attorney Theresa Gottlieb.
Brancato's attorney, Joseph Tacopina, told the jury his client was an addict who "ruined his life" with drugs and was "clearly strung out" at the time of the slaying.
But he argued that the true culprit was Armento, who was convicted of first-degree murder on October 30 and has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.
"Lillo was there to satisfy his addiction, but he wasn't there to do violence," Tacopina said. "Lillo didn't try to hurt a single person that night."
Brancato, 32, made his debut in 1993 in "A Bronx Tale" opposite Robert De Niro. He has appeared in more than a dozen other movies and played a doomed aspiring mobster in HBO's "The Sopranos."
By law, prosecutors were allowed to charge Brancato with second-degree murder in the death of Officer Daniel Enchautegui because they say the killing occurred while both he and the actual shooter were committing a felony -- a break-in. If convicted of murder and burglary, he faces a possible life term.
Enchautegui, who lived next door to the apartment where prosecutors say Brancato and Armento were trying to steal drugs, grabbed his gun and came out to investigate. Armento shot the 28-year-old officer in the heart. Enchautegui fired back, wounding both men.
The case could turn on whether the jury believes Brancato knew Armento was carrying a loaded revolver. Prosecutors say Brancato's drug dealer will testify that Armento had pulled the weapon on the dealer earlier in the night in front of Brancato.
But Tacopina branded the drug dealer a liar angling for leniency in his own legal troubles. Brancato was startled that his friend opened fire, and didn't know the man firing back was a patrolman, he said.
What I read in today’s CNN news for November 26, 2008 was about that the judgment date for the former Katy ISD cheerleaders were accused of hazing. According to the news, the cheerleaders judgment day was suppose to be on Wednesday. The teens were varsity cheerleaders at Morton Ranch High School at Houston, Texas. Their attorneys had postponed their court date on December to EVALUATE whether the teens were guilty or not for their accusation of hazing. I EQUATE that hazing is the same thing as a prank. Under Texas state law, the teens that were accused of hazing were charged with a misdeamor. The cheerleaders that were accused of hazing blindfolded and tied up the members using an ace bandage and pushed teens in the swimming pool. According to the news, the mug shots of the 5 cheerleaders involved in the hazing were released on Tuesday.
In the San Diego Union Tribune, I read about more violence in Mexico, specifically in the city of Tijuana. Yesterday morning three bodies were found decapitated, in a baseball field. The three bodies were among the eight found in total since Saturday. Rosarito found another decapitated man in a car on the cities freeway. In the month of November alone there has been 156 total deaths due to cartel wars. Since January 1, 2008 there has been 695 deaths due to cartel violence. On Saturday, gunmen shot and killed four people and wounded five others. Police found a man's body with hands and feet tied, he too was shot and killed. Officials found a man whose arms were cut off in the trunk of a ford escort.
The article I read this morning was about an alligator that was found inside a home. The alligator was the people’s pet. The reason that the alligator was found is because authorities raided the house because the people that live there were drug dealers. Authorities found 50 pounds of marijuana and 50 pounds of cocaine. They also found valuable things that they believe were giving to the drug dealers in trading for drugs. The neighbors of the people didn’t even know themselves that these people had random stuff like the alligator in their home. The home was in Alton, Illinois. The alligator was 7 feet long.
I think that the people that had this animal in there home are crazy. I wonder what they had the alligator there if for protection or just to have it as a pet. I hope that the alligator is in good conditions because if not they could get charged for whatever is wrong with the poor animal.
An interesting fact that I read was that not even the neighbor knew that they had an alligator as a pet next door.
today in CNN news I had read about authorities discovered stolen drugs and stolen goods. The narcotic district had found a 7 foot alligator being kept as a pet alleged by drug dealers. They raided the home last Tuesday they found 50 pounds of marijuana and cocaine. They had also seized high- dollar electronics and clothing and guns. They said they had the alligator for protection so people wont steal there stolen drugs and electronics. The operation was controlled by a father and son. They will be doing some time in the county jail.
