week 113 monday- friday morning blog

HEllo My genuis,
Instead of a new morning blog each day you will be commenting on the same blog each week, So on Friday you should have 5 comments for each week.
Label the days
for example:

Monday- In todays reading, 8 Troops Killed in Battle in Afgan,
( 8 sentences ) I learned that, the Battle lasted 12 hours as hundreds of militants fired on outpost, official says. Hundreds of militants attacked American and Afghan troops in eastern Afghanistan on Saturday, opening fire on an outpost from multiple locations with rockets, mortars and heavy-caliber machine guns, according to an initial U.S. military report on the battle.

At least eight American troops and two members of the Afghan National Security Force died the largest number of Americans killed by hostile action in a single day in more than a year, according to CNN records.

Eight U.S. troops, two members of Afghan National Security Force killed in fighting. Coalition forces say they called in airstrikes, repelled attack from militants. Incident marks deadliest day for U.S. troops in Afghanistan since 2008

( 3 reflections...I agree or not agree...because)
I am saddened by the deaths of the troops, they have many family members that morn their innocent deaths. I hope the president can figure something out so no more of our troops die fir nothing. I can't stand the terrorist who attack just to make a statement, these are people's lives that are used.

(Monday-Jesus e) In today's paper I read the ruling members of the board of education are not wanted in their places anymore. The people of San Diego are not only tired of their petty politics, but disgusted with the results. The thing for those members is to slide quietly out, resign, quit. It will save a lot of trouble and expenses for them to do it as quickly as possible. This was written by the San Diego union tribune in June 7, 1918 its cool to read this and see the picture of how it was in those days.

{{AJSHANEE-monday}} Today I read about Jaycee Dugard finally getting back to her family after being keep captive for 18 years. Authorities allege that Phillip Garrido pulled off am unfathomable crime, kidnapping 11-year-old Jaycee and raping her and keeping her as his secret captive for nearly two decades and fathering her two children. Jaycee who had been abducted near her home in South Lake Tahoe, was reunited with her family August 27 when the police arrested Phillip and his wife.

Monday- Today I read about a story who seemed kind of interesting to me. The story involves a 33 year old man pleaded guilty of leaving his 1 year old child inside a locked car with closed windows. It says that the child’s dad and grandpa went out to the store taking this child and left him inside the car while they went inside to buy groceries. Well a pedestrian was passing by when he heard the crying of a child when he looked inside the window he saw the child inside his car seat and told security. When security got there to interpret they couldn’t open the car since it was locked and that’s when the police was called. When the police arrived one of the officers broke the window and got the baby out. Then they went inside the store and arrested the man for child endangerment. This man can serve up to 9 months in county and be released on 3 year probation but it is still being looked into and measured out its percent.
This was a good story but I don’t think the man did it intentionally. The police took it a little too far and just messed it up more for them because now the happy family is separated and the child is fatherless. That is what I thought of this story I just read.
I learned that even little things that aren’t intentionally are very serious.

Today I read about Sacramento California’s first lady Maria Shriver, she apologized after getting some heat for photos and a video that showed her driving while chatting on her cell phone, a violation of the law her husband signed that prohibits driving and talking on the phone without hands free device. Maria issued an apology on the Web site for her women’s conference organization and outlined the punishment she has given herself. Maria donated her favorite old cell phone to her women’s conference partner Verizon through their HopeLine program that helps domestic violence shelters. I think that this article was funny how it involves the governors wife breaking the law that he just establish, she really should have known better, but at the end we all make mistakes were not perfect. Anyways, there is still a large percent of people that talk in their cell phone while driving, I guess everyone is still getting used to the idea. I bet Maria was really embarrassed after what happened that day, and I feel that she is trying to hard to apologize I bet the phone she donated wasn’t even her favorite one.

In todays paper i read about Jaycee Dugard who was kept captive for almost twenty years. Authorities believe that Phillip Garrido kidnapped eleven year old Jaycee Dugard. Garrido was raping Jaycee while he keep her as his secret captive for about twenty years. Dugard has already had two of his children Angel who is fifteen and Starlit who is eleven. Jaycee Dugard and her daughters lived in a dirt floor with a lot of tents hand built sheds. Investigators also found a wired cage next to one of the tents. Jaycee was reunited with her family on August.27. Philip Garrido and his wife Nancy were arrested, they both pleaded guilty to rape and imprisonment. Jaycee Dugard is doing well, she has also done a good job with her children. Dugard does not plan to do any interviews, but her mother Terry Probyn is writing a book about her experience and that Jaycee Dugard might contribute to the book.
I am happy that Jaycee Dugard was found but I feel bad for her and all that she has went through. I wonder if it saddens her for having children with a man who kept her captive and raped her. It must have been an awful experience for Jaycee Dugard since she does not really want to talk about her experience and do any interviews.
I learned that if one girl was kept captive for two decade there can be a lot of other girls or boys in the same situation. There is a lot of crazy weird people.

What I read in today’s San Diego 6 news was about the new film called, Paranormal Activity. This film is a horror film which was actually filmed her in San Diego. Oren Peli, the film’s director, had filmed the movie right in his home in Rancho Penasquitos. San Diego 6 came to his home and spoke with neighbors. Peli’s neighbors has helped him with the film, especially his neighbor Bill Hernandez who was there when Peli first bought the camera. Hernandez INTERPRETED, “I was with him when we bought the camera and I was curious as to why he was buying such a big camera, you know? It's a movie camera.” “Oh -- look at this one -- Hey, I could use this!” replied Peli. Peli’s occupation is a computer games programmer at Sony. He used his skills to work on this movie. Peli worked on the film on his vacation days. When the movie was done, he invited his neighbors to come watch and asked for their own opinions. According to the neighbors, there were a few people who didn’t like some scenes, but they also commented that it was a good scare. Sharon Criger liked the movie so much that she asked Peli for an autograph. My friends and co worker watched this movie and said it was pretty good. So I decided to watch it too and see it for myself. My opinion is that it was a good movie. It was freaky and scares you for a minute. The movie was scary I give it 99 PERCENT. You’ll probably have a hard time sleeping. The movie’s characters INVOLVES Micah Sloat and Kati Featherstone and I guess his wife. My friends and I liked it. You guys should check it out for yourselves, and don’t watch it alone.

This morning I read an article about a lady accused of forcing girls into from Africa to New Jersey. She forced them to work in hair braiding salons and kept them in slavery like conditions. She took all their earnings including tips. The woman has been convicted for human trafficking and visa fraud. I think this story is horrible and I don’t understand how you could be INVOLVED in something like that.

Tuesday- This morning I read a devastating issue about a little girl. The article I read summarized a story in which a kindergarten girl died because of the swine flu. The parents said that at first there was no evidence that their daughter had the flu but she did have a little headache so they took her to the doctor. At the doctor’s they were given a medicine and told to come back the next day. On their way back to the doctor the little girl threw up and the parents were concerned well the doctor told them to go to the hospital and they did. When they arrived the parents were told she did have the h1n1 virus and she was in critical condition. Well after 32 hours in the hospital the little girls heart finally broke through and she passed away. The doctors are now looking in on the reason why her body gave up so quick.
I thought this was a sad story because I have a little brother around the same age as the little girl. I would never want that to happen to me ever in my life. I think that the swine flu should be feared and the government should do something more about it.
I learned that the swine flu is very deadly and that you do not need to receive the symptoms to know that you have it so just go and get the antibiotic before its too late.

This morning I read an article about a justice of the peace in New Orleans who refused to marry and interracial couple “out of concern for any children they might have.” He went on to say that in his experience most interracial marriages do not last and that both black and whit societies don’t readily accept interracial children. He also says that he is not a racist, but he doesn’t believe in mixing the races that way. I think that this story is ridiculous. I know he is entitled to his opinion, but he shouldn't be able to refuse a couple the right to marry because of their race. In my opinion I INTERPRET that as being a racist. There is a great PERCENTAGE of interracial couples already, so who is he to make the decision. Its really sad that people could be that close minded.

Scientists using the European Southern Observatory telescope didn't find any planets quite the size of Earth or any that seemed habitable or even unusual. But their announcement increased the number of planets discovered outside the solar system to more than 400. in my opinion I think its cool that they found new planets and its really interesting.

In today's paper I read about a man who got sentenced to death for trying to kill his ex girlfriend. He was found guilty last month of six felony counts. Walter Cordell was found guilty for premeditated attempted murder, forcible rape, and making a criminal threat. His total sentence is life in prison, plus 60 years to life, plus 32 years and four months. It all happened on May 30,2008 when her relationship came to end because Walter found out he had cancer. As he was moving out Walter asked his ex to have sex with him one last time. His ex said no , afterwards he said he had a surprise for her. He then struck her repeatedly with a 2 pound engineers hammer, he then raped her for hours. She suffered from multiple injuries but she is still alive.
I think that what Walter Cordell was extremely wrong. I am happy he is stuck in jail for the rest of his life. He hurt his ex girlfriend mentally and physically. Nobody should ever have that happened to them.
I learned some people are very crazy, even somebody you cared for.

Today I read about a 12-year-old boy that died after shooting himself I the head while playing with a gun yesterday. Christopher Kinney was alone in his room when his cousin heard a gunshot and found Kinney on Wednesday evening. Police said the gun had been properly secured in the home but the boy had managed to get a hold of it. I think this last sentence is false. How are they going to say it was properly secured when it obviously wasn’t since this boy got a hold of it. I really don’t think the parents should be prosecuted but they aren't very smart.

Today I read about a little girl named Alitza Ortiz Sanchez, she was a healthy Otay girl and didn’t have usual symptoms of the flu. Alitza didn’t have high fever, cough, runny nose or sore throat, so her parents didn’t suspect swine flu when they first took the five year old to a physician. Later the little girl developed a terrible headache and purplish swelling around her eyes, her parents then knew something was wrong. Alitza was dead after 35 hours later, becoming the first child in San Diego County to succumb to the H1N1 influenza virus. I feel bad for the family it is really hard to lose someone especially because the girl was very little. I just hope that by this story people put more effort in taking care of their kids, I know Alitza’s parents did all they could but maybe others could learn by this and have regular check ups on their kids or something. Scientists are studying the effects that cause this and hopefully they figure out something and help prevent the deaths of more people by the flue.

Today I read about Howard Unruh, a World War II veteran accused of killing more than a dozen people in a deadly shooting spree in New Jersey 60 years ago, died Monday, authorities said. He was 88. The last victim was 2-year-old Tommy Hamilton, who happened to be looking out the window, according to accounts of the 20-minute spree compiled by Tru TV's Web site. Another boy was killed while getting a haircut. The barber, 33-year-old Clark Hoover, had been on the list. I think this man probably is guilty of these killings. But it doesn’t really matter anymore because he is dead.

Wednesday- Today I read about how an old shooting was going to come back and happen all over again. This shooting was going to happen in New York by a couple of fifteen year old kids. The main kid was caught by the police because they received a warrant to search his house. At his house they confiscated quite a few weapons along with some explosive items. I also read that this was supposed to happen on the schools anniversary which is also Adolf Hitler’s birthday but was canceled by the police. The kid mentioned that he was doing this because while he went to that school he was bullied a lot. Well he had then moved schools and was then planning on bombing the place. Good thing that it didn’t happen because it would have been a devastating loss. The police also said that the boy was being put into a mental home until he is charged for possession of terrorism tools.
I think this kid is really evil and just by pushing him around in school he leads to this. I cant believe it but I mean sometimes the quietest kids ever become the most deadly. I agree with the police when they put him in a mental home for planning on doing this.
I learned that bullying people that seem harmless can result in a really negative way

In today's paper I read about a man who is one of Americas most wanted. Apparently Eduardo Ravelo is described as a “ruthless killer”. Authorities say Eduardo Ravelo has shaved his head, undergone plastic surgery, and has even changed his fingerprints. Eduardo has killed about a dozen murders and assaults. He has also done drug trafficking, extortion, weapon offenses and money laundering. U.S. authorities say the commanders of the Juarez cartel often call on Ravelo to kill their enemies. In exchange, Eduardo Ravelo and his Barrio Azteca's comrades get drugs to sell on the streets of Mexico and the United States. Even the Eduardo is keeping his life low-key he is still having his dirty work done for him.
I think now that Eduardo Ravelo has gotten plastic surgery, that it is going to be a much harder job for law enforcement to find him. I also think he needs to get caught a.s.a.p. He is still killing people and has done a lot of bad things like trafficking.
I learned that there is a lot of bad people on the streets and may never get caught because some are even getting surgery to change their appearances !

I think her parents are deeply concerned about the disappearance of 20-year-old Virginia Tech student Morgan Dana Harrington, who was last seen while attending our concert at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, VA, on Saturday night, I think that its very depressing for a mother not to know where her child is and she was waiting for the girl to come back and tell her how the concert was.

The Chicago Bears and quarterback Jay Cutler have agreed on a two-year contract extension that runs through the 2013 season. Acquired in a blockbuster trade from Denver in the offseason, the Pro Bowl quarterback has completed 110 of 172 passes with 1,201 yards, 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions while leading Chicago to a 3-2 record. With a 64.0 completion rate and 240.2 yards passing per game, he is on pace to set club single-season records. Considered to be one of the Bears' best quarterbacks since Sid Luckman, Cutler got picked off four times in the season-opening loss at Green Bay but has since lived up to his billing. He led the Bears to back-to-back comeback wins over Pittsburgh and Seattle the next two weeks while completing more than 70 percent of his passes and has nine touchdowns with three interceptions over the past four game I think this is good that the bears have Quarter back that is producing wins and helping there franchise become one of the top in the NFL.

An off-duty sheriff's deputy reported seeing the woman on the pedestrian bridge at I-5 and Pershing Drive about 1:45 a.m. All southbound lanes and two northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Balboa Park were closed for about eight hours. The woman was going back and forth between crying, sobbing, being angry and confrontational to talking to herself. I think that it is very selfish of her to do that. Just imagine how many people were later to work, like people don’t have their own things going on. I understand that she needs help but there are other ways of getting stuff handled she didn’t need to INVOLVE all of San Diego in her problem.

Today I read about Eduardo Ravelo he is described to be a ruthless killer who has gone to great lengths to avoid getting caught by law enforcement while contributing to blood shed that terrorizes the border between Texas and Mexico. Authorities say the suspected hit man with close ties to the Juarez drug cartel has shaved his head, undergone plastic surgery and even manipulated his fingerprints to elude capture. He heads the Barrio Aztecas gang, but Ravelo isn't flashy, FBI agents say. He keeps a low profile, living modestly. Ravelo was named to the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, taking the second of three vacant slots. In my opinion I think that this guy really needs some help with his mental issues or whatever it is that is making him kill people. I’m guessing he really thought he would get away with changing his appearance, it kind of would be a good idea if he didn’t keep on doing what he was doing before the surgery. Hopefully they find this guy before he ends up killing more people.

What I read in today’s CNN news was about the death of Derrion Albert. Albert, 16 years old, was an honor student at Christian Fenger Academy High School. He was an innocent bystander that happened to get involved in the street fight. His murder was captured on video. The video showed Albert getting beat by a person wielding which was a piece of railroad tie. Albert was sent to the hospital and had 50 PERCENT chance of living. He was then pronounced dead. Charges were dropped by one of the suspect, Eugene Bailey. Police officers told Bailey he appeared on the video, Bailey denied. Officers searched his home and found nothing that had to do with the video. Bailey considered Albert as a good friend and offered to help in the investigation leading to his death. Bailey was so glad he was out and free since he didn’t do anything which involved in the crime. I learned that three people still face murder charges. The three INVOLVED were Silvanus Shannon, 19, Eric Carson, 16, and Eugene Riley, 18. All three appeared in court for a preliminary hearing and their case still continued until Friday. At the end of the article, Bailey INTERPRETED, “We shouldn't have to worry about walking down the streets," Bailey said. "We all live amongst each other.

What I read in today’s San Diego news was about the robbery that occurred at Pacific Beach. A robber held up a Chase bank at 4650 Mission Bay Dr. Pacific Beach with a gun. The robber was disguised in a ski mask and hit the bank after 9:00 am. A witness saw him stuffing money in his pockets. A dye pack suddenly exploded as he was running out, which left red ink on him. The gunman forced the employees into the vault, but no one was hurt. According to police, they INTERPRET that workers locked themselves up in the vault for protection. I also read about the car accident that occurred in Otay Mesa. The accident INVOLVED 2 teenagers which were sent into custody and one 17 year old boy injured. The crash happened at Beyer Way and Picador Boulevard at around 3 pm. The 17 year old boy was driving eastbound when his vehicle was struck by an SUV which was being driven by the two teenagers. A witness happened to follow the SUV and called police, which later arrested the two teens. In this accident, I learned that the teen was sent to the hospital for injuries. I think 80 PERCENT of car accidents end up getting hospitalized.

This morning I read an article about six Muslim imams who where taken off of a US Airways flight in 2006 because passengers reported what they thought was suspicious behavior. They have settled in court but the terms were not released, including an amount of money. They were removed from the flight because they were reciting their evening prayers in Arabic before they boarded the flight. Some passengers also said that the men made some critical comments about the Iraq war while on board. I could see where the passengers could INTERPRET them as terrorist but, I still think they do deserve a settlement and I don’t think that they deserved that kind of treatment. They are Islamic spiritual leaders, I doubt that they are INVOLVED in any terrorist activity.

This morning I read about community colleges making cuts on classes. Southwestern College will cut about one-fourth of its course sections next semester. Students will have less classes to choose from and instructors who get paid per class will loose income. Southwestern College is eliminating 429 course sections to save about 1.6 million dollars. Math, science, and engineering will be cut down by the most, 21 percent. California community colleges are seeing a cut of 800 million in state funding this year. It is said that courses needed to graduate, transfer or earn vocational certificates will not be cut. The cuts will help the college avoid firing any full-time facility members.
I think the government should stop doing cuts on education. If more people get an education, more people will have better jobs, which means more money and it will help out the economy. I hate whets going on in the community colleges because I was planning on attending one next year. I try to INTERPRET for what reasons the budget cuts are being done , but I can’t find any good reasons. I think the cuts on education should stop, people should get more INVOLVED in the issue and try to make a difference.
I learned that budget cuts affect a huge PERCENT of people.

Thursday- Today I read about how trying to be healthy can result in a deadly way. Well it all started when a woman named Liz Neuman, 49, of prior lake suffered multiple organ damages. The reason is because she was in a sweat lodge ceremony trying to stay healthy and drastically passed away on her way to the hospital. Officials stated that its not the first time something like this happened. Another time at another sweat ceremony there were about 55-65 people inside for a period of over two hours. That resulted in two people without a pulse and twenty one people were hospitalized ranging from dehydration to kidney failure. Sheriff's department have spoken in these situations and decided to charge owners with homicide. The owner said it was the participants fault because they had the choice of staying inside the whole time so there is definitely going to be a court date.
I agree with the owner because participants did have the choice of staying inside there. The sheriff needs to learn that they need to have a look at both sides of these deaths. I cant believe the story is about people dying at a sweat lodge it seems a little suspicious.
I learned that trying to stay healthy also results in a bad way.

In today’s news a Homeless man was arrested for being accused of starting a fire. It says he was INVOLVED in starting a small blaze in August turning into a wild fire and killing to fire men. Babatunsin Olukunle, is the strongest lead to the fire case. The fire has destroyed about 250 PERCENT of land and about 89 houses. It was said that this is one of the biggest fires in Southern California's History. Some detectives are saying that they don’t have enough Evidence to prove that Olukunle is the perpetrator of this crime. They have INTERPRETED this crime in his language that he spoke. Two cops said that they have seen him run from the forest then they went to see and it was a fire.

In Today’s news a driver is thinking of considering charges on a car crash that occurred weeks ago. A 17-year old Torrey pine High School student indicated yesterday that he will press vehicle manslaughter and other charges next month. On October 3 two friends were driving home when another car crashed with them killing his Friend Alex Capozza. The people INVOLVED might have to serve three years of Probation. The San Diego Union Tribune can not identify the minors. The minors were drinking about 80 PERCENT of alcohol and driving. Its been INTERPRETED that the youth has been held in Juvenile hall. The decision will be decided on the next court date.
I think the person Responsible for the murder should go to jail. They should pay a Bill for this crime. I think they will face about three years of prison.

Today I read about a 58 year old women that died in a fire caused by a cigarette. A lighted cigarette was left in a trash can that caught fire. Firefighters were called to the leisureland mobile villa complex on 47th street near Fairmount Avenue in the Webster neighborhood. By the time the firefighters arrived, flames and smoke had engulfed the mobile home and it took less than 15 minutes to put out the fire. The women’s body was found underneath wall paneling. The Medical examiner’s office said it would not release the women’s name until she was positively identified. Damage to the home and its contents was estimated at $100,000. I think that this story is sad I feel bad for the women she probably couldn’t do anything to save her own life, like call the firefighter as soon as the fire started. It’s crazy how the leading cause of fire is by cigarettes and unfortunately this is what happened to this lady. Hopefully people learn from this and be careful when they put out their cigarettes.

Today i read about Mayor Jose Reyes Ferriz indicate the death toll for this year has already surpassed 2,000 homicides -- almost 400 more murders than the total count for 2008. It has been 22 months of this war, and it hasn't stopped. The violence has increased, and the possibility that it will stop is becoming more remote. The mayor attributed the surge in drug-related violence to an influx of cartel groups. The rival Sinaloa and Juarez cartels are making their way to the city to participate in the warfare for the control of the smuggling route between Ciudad Juarez and El Paso, Texas. The Sinaloa cartel is headed by Mexico's most wanted man, Joaquin. I think this was an interesting artilce. This is something that goes on, on a daily basis. This isn't a good business someone always gets caught.

Well turns out there is a clock that stopped working and was stuck on the date of 6/14/09 and the time of 9:43. The clock has been like that for over four months now and people get confused. Well a guy named Paul Frazee said he had reported the clock to many MTS officials and yet the clock was never fixed. Now that this came out on the newspaper MTS officials will maybe most likely to take charge and fix it for their customers. The article also reads that while all the other clocks run okay it seems as if officials forgot about the loneliest one in the corner. Even though MTS has a lot of problems it will eventually get fixed like all others.
I agree with Paul because I always look at those clocks for the time and it someday might trick me into thinking it’s the wrong time and mess my head up until I realize it. I think the MTS should take charge of problems when concerned riders report them. I learned that MTS has so many problems they can take up to months just to fix one situation.

(Friday Jesus e) IN TODAY’S PAPER I READ THAT THE U.S. AUTHORITIES ARRESTED 303 PEOPLE OVER THE PAST TWO DAYS IN A NATIONWIDE SWEEP TARGETING THE DISTRIBUTION NETWORK OF LA FAMILIA, A FAST-RISING MEXICAN DRUG CARTEL KNOWN FOR ITS VIOLENCE, MESSIANIC CULTURE AND CONTROL OVER THE METHAMPHETAMINE TRADE, ATTORNEY GENERAL ERIC HOLDER ANNOUNCED YESTERDAY.
MORE THAN 3,000 FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL AGENTS PARTICIPATED IN THE U.S. LAW ENFORCEMENT OPERATION, THE LARGEST MOUNTED AGAINST A MEXICAN CARTEL, HOLDER SAID.
IN MY OPINION I THINK THAT ITS COOL THAT THEY ARE CLEANING UP MEXICO BY CATCHING THE BAD, HOPEFULLY THEY CLEAN T.J UP AND MAYBE STOP SOME OF THE MANY KILLING THAT ARE GOING ON BECAUSE OF THE DRUG CARTEL.

In today’s news a mother of a murdered daughters mom will not sleep until her daughter killer is found. Deina Thompson was very depressed after her daughter was murdered. Somer Thompson’s body was found in a Georgia landfill. She said in a sad voice to the camera that she will not sleep until the killer is found. She also said its not right to take someone's life away for no reason. There are no suspects who were INVOLVED with the Murder. She didn’t need someone to INTERPRET this. And I think that there would be about 99 PERCENT of people who agree with her.
I also agree with her and don’t think murder is right. I hope the murderer is caught and sent to prison. There will be more information about this case sooner.

In today’s news a suicide bomber kills four students in a Pakistan University. A popular university with Foreigners in Pakistan’s capital has been attacked by suicide bombers. The blast could be an retaliation for the Taliban and al-Qaeda forces near afghan border. The suicide bombers were targeting the faculty building and a women’s cafeteria at the University. No group near Pakistan claimed Responsibility for this attack. There are 18000 I the university and about ten PERCENT of the students are Foreign. This Report has also been INTERPRETED in the Pakistan's language. It is clear that the Taliban and/or al-Qaeda are Responsible for this attack.
I disagree with this attack and don’t think its necessary. I also think that Taliban and al-Qaeda were INVOLVED with this attack. There will be more about this story in the future.

Today I read about a police officer who shot a passenger in a stole car last week. The officer that was INVOLVED was a detective who has been recognized several times for his success at catching car theives. His name is Detective Timothy Reiley, a 10 year old veteran of the department assigned to special investigations unit. On Thursday afternoon Reiley and other detectives were trying to stop the driver of a stolen car. As officers moved in the driver rammed police cars and drove towards Reiley. The detective became scared. He fired at least four shots at the white sedan. The driver of the stolen car was not harmed, but his girlfriend in the passenger seat was shot in the torso. The car crashed into another police car. The driver of the stolen cars girlfriend ended up dying at a hospital shortly after.
I read the article and I INTERPRETED the situation that occurred. It seemed like the newspaper or whoever wrote the article tried to sugar coat the story. They wrote like three paragraphs just talking about how much of a good detective Timothy Reiley is. The detective did the right thing because the stolen car driver wouldn’t stop, but I didn’t see why the article keeps talking about how many awards he has gotten. I just think the article made the cop look like a hero.
I learned that a large PERCENT of situations involving a stolen car not stopping when asked to stop is not going to end well.

[[FRIDAY!!--rochelle!]]

This morning I read an article about an ongoing investigation on a man who has criticized the governments nuclear agenda for decades. P. Leonardo Mascheroni, a physicist, who worked at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, has championed an innovative type of laser fusion and he has gone to Congress repeatedly to question the management of the nations nuclear laboratories and arsenal. Federal agents have seized six computers, two cameras, two cell phones, and hundreds of files from his house. He said that he was told the seizures were part of a criminal investigation into possible nuclear espionage. I think that they are invading his privacy and I don’t think he is a spy.

Today I read about The San Francisco Police Department is reopening a 25-year-old homicide that may be linked to convicted killer Richard Ramirez, known during his 1984-85 spree as the "Night Stalker." Detectives recently obtained a warrant to test Ramirez's DNA based on new leads in the 1984 death of 9-year-old Mei Leung, who was sexually assaulted and killed in the basement of her home in the city's Tenderloin district, police said. I think they should have considered opening the case since a long time ago instead of waiting a long time for it until something bad happened. I think that if this case is so old why even bother they should just keep the guy in jail he doesn’t deserve to ever get out.

[Jonalyn Pangilinan- October 23, 2009 Friday's Morning Blog]

In today’s San Diego 6 news for October 23, 2009, I read about the arrest that was made in the Rancho Bernando murder. The suspect INVOLVED in the murder was also identified. The victim, 28 years old, was walking around the parking lot, talking on her cell phone to her parents who lives in Ohio. According to her parents, they heard a man’s voice, a struggle, and their daughter scream. Then all of a sudden the phone went disconnected. Officers came to check her welfare. Once they got to the apartment complex, they checked her first floor apartment, and there they found her body, 100 PERCENT dead. Rooney INTERPRETED that there were no signs of forced entry in the Thursday afternoon killing. San Diego police arrested Richard Saldivar for the stabbing of his neighbor at her Rancho Bernando apartment. The question that is running through my head that they didn’t state in the article is I wonder why Saldivar murdered the woman or what made him do it. I feel bad for the victim’s parents, hearing their daughter scream then not knowing what happened to her after the phone went dead.

Today I read about a controversy from students from Washington University say they have complained to state and federal agencies that a Chicago, Illinois, nightclub barred six African-American members from their senior class trip celebration while admitting nearly 200 white classmates. Bar personnel cited dress code violations -- specifically baggy jeans -- when barring the African-American students, according to Washington University senior class president Fernando Cutz, who was among students admitted to the bar. A white student and a black student exchanged jeans to see what would happen, and the white student was admitted while his classmate still was kept outside, Cutz said. They were even going to go to their hotel and change but the bar manager said that was not going to happen. I think this isn’t a big deal all this is, is a racist bar and that’s the end of it.
