Today I read about the use of capital punishment by states continues its steady decline, with fewer death sentences handed down in 2009 than any year since the death penalty was reinstated by the Supreme Court in 1976.Year-end figures released Friday by the Death Penalty Information Center (DPIC) show 11 states are now considering abolishing executions, with many legislators citing high costs associated with incarcerating and handling often decades-long appeals by death row inmates. There were 106 death sentences issued in 2009, compared with a high of 328 in 1994. Death sentences have dropped 63 percent since 2000, when there were 235 issued. Fifty-two inmates were executed this year in 11 states. The last was Matthew Wrinkles on December 11 in Indiana. He was convicted of murdering his wife and two family members 15 years ago. Executions are on hold in California, Maryland, Kentucky and the federal system, pending challenges to lethal injection procedures. Earlier in the year, Nebraska became the last death penalty state to formally switch over to lethal injection as the main form of capital punishment. The legislature had abandoned electrocution, which had been the sole method, but final protocols have yet to be approved for future executions.

In today's CNN news I read about Brittany Murphy, an actress who appeared in such films as "Clueless" and "8 Mile," died apparently of natural causes. Murphy, 32, was pronounced dead at 10:04 a.m. PT (1:04 p.m. ET) Sunday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Murphy starred in several movies, including, "Just Married," "Don't Say a Word" and "Riding in Cars With Boys," and also voiced the character of Luanne Platter on the animated series “King of the Hill”. She was survived by her husband, British
screenwriter Simon Monjack, whom she married in 2007. In addition to her "King of the Hill" role, she lent her voice to a number of animated works, including the TV series "Futurama" and the 2006 movie "Happy Feet.“ Her love life also was fodder for gossip sites as she broke two engagements in 2004 and 2006, then married Monjack after four months of dating. She’s a lady that would be missed by celebrities and by other people in general. Her appearance in movies made her the person was.

In today’s news one person died and five people were injured in the Coast guard boat collision. The Boat was on its way to a Christmas parade in San Diego when it crashed in the dock. At least 13people were RELEVANT with the disaster. The accident occurred at least at 6:00 PM yesterday. The Article does not announce what was the SOURCE of the crash. Recounts were necessary to make sure everyone on board was safe. It was a COMPLEX situation to investigate what completely happened. At least one person died in the crash who was unidentified.
I think its sad that somebody died on a Christmas parade. This article doesn’t give out much information. But the Coast guards are still trying to find out who died.

Today I read about a foster child who was killed. Kenneth Taylor a former body builder who was the 16 year olds foster parent is the main suspect. Kenneth Taylor was convicted in October of voluntary manslaughter and aggravated assault for the death of Jordan Kaleb Shelton. Kenneth Taylor’s past shows he has anger issues. The court questioned old foster children and all of them said they were abused by Kenneth Taylor. Taylor remains free on bond, pending the results of a January motion for a re-trial.
I think that A lot of people think that believe that Kenneth Taylor is not guilty just because he is an adult. I think he is guilty a lot of dads do that to children and Kenneth has a past that shows he is aggressive. I think this guy should be getting way more that 5 years.
I learned that someone can have killed someone but really it only matters if you have the money to have a good lawyer and you can sometimes get away with the crime.
Today I read about an Iowa mother was sentenced to life without parole Tuesday for slitting her 2-year-old son's throat and leaving him to die near a remote pond in October 2008, a prosecutor said. Michelle Kehoe, 36, also received 25 years on one count of attempted murder for slashing her older son's throat. She left both children outside the family van before attempting to kill herself. The 7-year-old survived and provided key testimony against his mother, whose attorneys argued that she believed she was trying to save her sons from a life of suffering when she cut their throats and her own. A jury rejected her insanity defense and convicted her of first-degree murder, attempted murder and child endangerment on November 4. Against the wishes of Kehoe's husband, Judge Bruce Zager also granted an extension of the prosecution's request for a no-contact order, which prohibits Kehoe from contacting her surviving son or anyone with whom he lives. Police found a handwritten note laying out details of the attack that Kehoe admitted to writing to support the story she initially told police. The note said a man broke into the car when the family stopped at a gas station and forced them to the area where the van was found. In the note, Kehoe said she tried to fight him off with pepper spray, but he knocked her unconscious. The judge sentenced Kehoe consecutively for first-degree murder and attempted murder and concurrently on attempted murder and child endangerment so that the sentences would represent the two boys.
Monday- Today I read about a mom who helped her son grow cannabis plants. The article states that they did this with the law ok with it. The reason is because her son smokes marijuana for chronic pain. The guy does have his dispensary license and medical card. The both did this to help others in pain and to have medicine for them. The owner of this medical dispensary said he averages about five thousand dollars a day. He also said he already receives about two hundred constant buyers and about five hundred more who come in once in a while. This means the guy and his mom made a good investment.
This was a good article to know how much a mom cares for his kid and helps start up a medical marijuana dispensary. The guy in my opinion is happy because he sells so much weed he is going to turn rich. The mom must be happy for her son because she can now retire and live the good life.
I learned that Medical Marijuana is growing more and more every year.

Today I read about how the Chargers have won there division for the second straight year in a row after trailing Denver in the beginning of the season. They have done good and kept there composure and stayed positive to keep it going on. The kicker Nate kaeding came threw last night with a big kick that ending up winning the game for the in the dog fight at QUALCOMM stadium in San Diego vs. the Bengals. I think this is good that they are winning in this city because we haven't won a super bowl yet and we really need to because this city deserve one and it will mean a lot to everyone.
In today’s news, a COMPLEX DNA test showed RELEVANT information that a man did not kidnap and raped a 9-year-old boy in 1974. SOURCES say that was received a life sentence and was released after 35 years. Polk County State Attorney Jerry Hill told the judge that DNA testing had excluded Bain from the crime. Reporters say that Bain was going home with family. "I'm going to see my mom," he said.

Today I read about The suspect in the brutal slaying of a gay teenager in Puerto Rico was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder and four other counts. Juan A. Martinez Matos was arrested late Monday in connection with the slaying of Jorge Steven Lopez Mercado, whose decapitated, dismembered and partially burned body was found Friday afternoon on a road in central Puerto Rico. In addition to murder, Martinez Matos was charged with three weapons violations and one count of hiding evidence, prosecutor Yaritza Carrasquillo said. Prosecutors are weighing whether to recommend that Martinez Matos be charged under federal hate crimes law, Carrasquillo said. That decision was not expected to come Wednesday. The U.S. gay community is asking authorities to investigate whether the slaying was a hate crime, said Pedro Julio Serrano of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force. It was a hate crime Martinez Matos, 26, was arrested late Monday at his home in the Mogote de Cayey neighborhood. If Martinez Matos is charged under the hate crimes provision, it is believed it would be the first such case under the latest addition to the law.
In my morning blog I read about a Milwaukee, Wisconsin, prosecutor that was charged with attacking the city's mayor in an incident that landed the mayor in the hospital with wounds to his head and face, according to a criminal complaint filed by the district attorney Thursday. Anthony Peters, 20, admitted to police that he "freaked out" and repeatedly beat the mayor over the head with a tire iron or crowbar, according to the document. Earlier reports had stated that Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett was attacked with a metal pipe. Peters told police that just before the Saturday-night attack as the mayor and his family were leaving the Wisconsin State Fair in West Allis Peters was arguing with the grandmother of his 1-year-old daughter. When she yelled for someone to call 911 and he saw a man on the phone, he proceeded to snatch the phone from the man and attack, the complaint said. Peters said the victim did not identify himself as the mayor, according to the complaint. Barrett was released from the hospital Monday, and on Wednesday he said at a news conference that when he heard the woman yell out he initially thought the child with her was hurt and began to call for help. I Also had read about that Authorities have charged two teenagers and an adult in connection with the beating of a 76-year-old African-American man early Tuesday in Baltimore, Maryland, in an incident police say had a racial connection. Emmanuel Miller, 16, and Zachary Watson, 17 are charged as adults, police said. They and Calvin Lockner, 28, face numerous charges in the alleged beating of James Privott, including attempted murder, assault and harassing a person because of race or religion, according to court documents There is no evidence the teenagers were affiliated with any white supremacist groups, Gugliemi said, but the two knew Lockner. Police responding to a report of an armed carjacking about 3:25 a.m. Tuesday found Privott with a head injury, according to probable cause statements accompanying charges, filed in the District Court of Maryland for Baltimore City. Privott told police he was loading his Chevy Tahoe after fishing in the nearby Patapsco River when three or four white males approached him and began to kick and punch him, knocking him to the ground while using, racial comments according to the statements
Today in my morning blog I had read about another arrest warrant for murder has been issued for the ex-husband of a former swimsuit model whose nude body was found over the weekend, Orange County police said Thursday. The body of Jasmine Fiore, 28, was found Saturday stuffed into a suitcase inside a Dumpster behind an apartment complex in Buena Park, just outside Anaheim in Orange County. Her teeth had been extracted and her fingers removed Fiore lived in Los Angeles and was last seen alive Friday in San Diego at a poker game with her ex-husband, Ryan Alexander Jenkins, a reality TV contestant. We believe he has crossed into Canada," U.S. Marshals Chief Inspector Thomas Hessian told reporters. "He needs to understand that he is now officially wanted. We won't stop looking for him." I also read about a school teacher aid was arrested. He was a Chula vista he was in the process of being a elementary part time teacher instructional aid. Vincent Mathews Lopez was arrested yesterday after a 15 year old called and reported a molestation . Police had to respond quickly to this molester and later was later in custody. Later that day they were going and booked Lopez into city jail. Lopez was on four counts of lewd acts on a child and one count on of continuous sexual abuse of a child. Lopez had assume that he would never get caught but he did.

Today i read about how the Giants won yesterday against the Redskins. New York came out smoking and snuffed out any upset dreams that Washington (4-10) might have harbored. The giants came out scoring two touchdown downs on their first two drives. New York went 80 yards in 16 plays on its first possession, eating up 9:13, and used up five more minutes in marching 63 yards in 11 plays on drive No. 2. The Giants need to fight back into the NFC playoffs for a conference-best fifth consecutive year. The Giants (8-6) can't win the NFC East, but they have more than a little life left. They're just a game behind Green Bay and Dallas (both 9-5) in the wild-card chase and only have to catch the Cowboys but not pass them because if they do they hold the head-to-head tie breaker. So if the Giants keep doing what there doing against their opponents, they might have a chance to go to the playoffs for there second year in a row. They have a good chance if the Eagles and Cowboys loose next week and the Giants could retaliate, they could go to the playoffs.

This morning I read a story about a man who attempted to smuggle fifteen lizards through customs at Los Angeles International Airport. Returning from Australia and he had two geckos, two monitor lizards and 11 smaller lizards strapped to his body. He pleaded not guilty to federal charges Monday. Smuggling wildlife into the United States carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines. Authorities say the lizards' value totals more than $8,500. Smuggling animals into the country is very dangerous. The animals could be carrying diseases that are harmful not only to other animals, but to humans also. The story didn’t mention the SOURCE of the lizards, he probably got them from the wild.

Today I read about how the Cleveland beat the phoenix suns to give them there first lost of the season my sources tell me that this is a big achievement because this is relevant. But its only one lost during this season at home no one has a better record then them at there house that is very complex and very well but I think this is a good job by the Cleveland team because they helped out many teams by giving the suns a lose.
Tuesday- Today I read about a professional football player who sadly passed away. The way he died was he fell off a bed of a moving truck. The article states that he and his fiancé had gotten in an argument so he was moving out. He then was sleeping on a mattress inside the moving truck when he fell off somehow and was seriously injured. The football player was in the hospital for a little with really serious injuries when he just passed away. This was a 26 year old receiver who is leaving three children behind. The team was devastated from this loss and so was his fiancé. The whole thing brought sadness to every one and he was supposed to get married in a few months from now. This football star was known to be a mess up in life because he had many bad experiences in his life even during his football season.
This was a sad article because someone died a few months before his wedding day. The team should be devastated because even if it’s one person its still a big loss. The fiancé should be the one to feel the worst because if they wouldn’t of gotten into an argument he would still be here.
I learned that life is good until you die and the thing that sucks is you never know when you next.

Today I read about a 15-year-old boy who was burned over 65 percent of his body in October when he was set on fire, by a group of teenagers, was released from the hospital Tuesday. Brewer's family is headed not to their Deerfield Beach, Florida, home, but to an undisclosed location. Brewer suffered second- and third-degree burns over about two-thirds of his body in the October 12 incident. Three teens Denver Jarvis and Matthew Bent, both 15, and Jesus Mendez, 16 are accused of being in a group that poured alcohol over Brewer and set him ablaze in what police said was a dispute over $40, a video game and a bicycle. All three teens are charged as adults with one count of attempted murder. Each has pleaded not guilty. If convicted, each could face a sentence of up to 30 years in prison. This teenagers should be sentence to a formula to up to 30 years of prison for this brutal attack to this 15 year old boy. They should learned there lesson and when they get out, they could start making better decisions. This kids potential may damage someone else little kid again.

Today I read about the Columbian governors death. Luis Francisco Cuellar Carvajal was kidnapped, and they just found his body. His throat had been slit. The governor's body was found by Colombian troops in an area close to his home. One of his bodyguards was killed, and two other officers were hurt. The kidnapping was done by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia. The Marxist insurgent group has been fighting the Colombian government for more than 45 years. This is the fifth time the governor had been arrested. The president offered a $1 billion peso reward (U.S. $485,000) for information leading to the arrests of those responsible.
I think that the security is rally bad. In the U.S.A no one like the governor or president has been kidnapped, well that I heard of. I think should have better security, especially if this is the sixth time the governor has been kidnapped.
I learned that Colombia does not have good security, and could handle situations better, actually prevent bad situations.
Wednesday- Today I read a sad story about a man who was struck by a trolley. San Diego metropolitan transit trolley hit a man around the Barrio Logan area. The man was said to be trying to walk to work somewhere around there as it seemed. The man was said to be a single man around twenty years of age. The transit system said that the man was not seen and accidentally hit. The whole story was said to be not a suicidal attempt and the police are still investigating the situation. This story was said to have happened at around five thirty in the morning on Thursday. There is still awaiting references to identify the body and see the situation.
This was a sad story and I think the man was very unlucky. The family should be devastated and I know they are if he has anyone who cares about him. The transit system should give a little help to the mans family for taking his life at least.
I learned that the trolley is very dangerous and you should never stand or run in front of one ever.
Rapper T.I. was released from prison on Tuesday after seven months, his attorney confirmed.
The performer, whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., will serve the remainder of a reduced sentence in a correctional center near Fulton County Airport in Atlanta, Georgia.
Harris was sentenced to a year and a day in March 2009 resulting from weapons charges related to purchasing machine guns and silencers.
Officials charged him with providing a bodyguard with $12,000 to buy weapons.
In May, he reported to a federal prison complex in Forrest City, Arkansas, to begin serving his sentence.
In addition to serving prison time, T.I. was placed on house arrest, given community service and was ordered to pay a $100,300 fine.
It was not the first time the platinum-selling artist had been in trouble with the law.
Harris was not permitted to own any guns because he had been convicted in 1998 on felony drug charges, possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, in Cobb County in suburban Atlanta.
After the rapper's arrest, he entered a plea agreement, which federal authorities called unique because it allowed him to remain out of prison for a year while he performed.
Steve Sadow, Harris' attorney, said prisoners with Harris' sentence are eligible for a 54-day sentence reduction for good behavior.
Harris is expected to remain at the halfway house for three months and will still be required to finish serving slightly less than 500 hours of community service and about 23 days of home incarceration.
Before reporting to prison, Harris threw himself a going-away party/concert attended by thousands at Philips Arena in Atlanta.

That growth rate is what drives federal spending on Medicare and other federal health programs. And it's what budget experts say will pummel the federal budget in future years if nothing is done to change it. So how would the Senate bill fare in bending the cost curve from the perspective of the federal budget? The short answer is the ever-unsatisfying "it depends.“ The Congressional Budget Office estimates the bill could over time reduce the federal budget commitment to health care - that's spending on programs like Medicare plus the amount of health-related federal tax breaks. For instance, the CBO estimates that Medicare spending per beneficiary would grow by an average of 2% on an inflation-adjusted basis over the next two decades. That's half the 4% annual growth rate that has marked the past two decades. But that estimated reduction is highly dependent on a number of factors. More than anything, it depends on whether this and future Congresses will do what the bill says ... to the letter. The budget agency noted such stick-to-itiveness is rare when it comes to major legislation and said the bill includes measures that "might be difficult to sustain over a long period of time" - such as reduced pay increases for various Medicare service providers. And reducing the federal budgetary commitment to health care also depends on how well the cost-bending provisions in the legislation work. In addition to the Medicare savings called for in the bill, two other major provisions could help bend the cost curve, according to former CBO Director Donald Marron. The first is the creation of an Independent Payment Advisory Board that would recommend ways to reduce Medicare's spending growth beyond what the legislation calls for. The second is the establishment of an excise tax on very expensive health plans intended to encourage employers and their workers to become more consumer savvy in their health spending choices. The CBO said in particular that the bill's savings potential depends on whether the new Medicare board's recommendations effectively control the growth rate in Medicare spending.

This morning I read a story about a woman who called the cops on her 6 year old daughter for stealing a pack of stickers from a drug store in Columbus Ohio. The woman then went on to ask for the thirty dollar reward for turning in shoplifters. The police were called and they took the girl down to the police station in the back of a cop car. I think that the mom probably set her daughter up to get the thirty dollars. I feel bad for the girl because I don’t think the mom went about that the right way.

In today’s news a killer of an exchange student in Italy is having his sentence reduced. Rudy Guede was sentenced to 30 years in prison, but will only go for 16. Guede was RELEVANT to the murder of Meredith Kercher, 21 in Italy. The two other People involved with the Murder of Meredith Kercher are Amanda Knox, 22 and her former Boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, 25. The SOURCE of the people involved was found after a knife with the DNA of Knox, Guede, Sollecito, and Kercher was found. They were convicted charges of murder, possessing weapons, and interfering with crime scene. It was a COMPLEX process of how the sentence got reduced. The Victims Family wants the People involved to get the Life in Prison penalty.
I think its sad for the girl who died. At least about 20 years in jail would be enough. Guede’s next trial will be decided in 2010.

In today’s news a Prison refugee has been captured after 30 years of hiding. Oscar Eugene Richardson, 61 Escaped from a Prison Work release program in Florida in 1979. After a COMPLEX pattern of stealing $ in the end of 60s Richardson was finally arrested in 1971. In 1971 Richardson was sentenced to Ten years in prison where he escaped Eight years later. Richardson was arrested Saturday from the SOURCE of a police hot line. After 1979 Richardson has been living in Missouri using false social security number. Police believe that Richardson is RELEVANT to the case of dozen of Prison Escapees in Florida. The campaign in Florida is design to deal with the Escapees, that might e most likely to contact friends, or family.
I think that Prison Escapees are dangerous and should be watched. Some of them are clever and might not be found for years. I also think that if a Prisoner escapes and is found later that they should get a harsher punishment.

jesus- Morning blog WED-jesus) A few days after about 300 San Diego taxi drivers went on strike to protest the amount of money they pay to lease cabs, organizers gathered the drivers in a City Heights meeting hall to rally them. The impassioned speeches were in Somali. In San Diego, Somali immigrants are nearly synonymous with the taxicab industry. Since Somalis began settling here in large numbers as refugees in the early 1990s, fleeing a civil war at home, they have come to dominate the business as drivers. While there is no official figure, it is estimated by groups who work with African immigrants and by drivers themselves that at least three-fourths of San Diego cabbies are East African, the vast majority from Somalia. Others are from Ethiopia and Eritrea, and a few are from other African countries. In my opinion I think that taxi drivers deserve a good pay because they are out driving people and they are doing it to help get them home when the bus stoppes driving. So I think it’s a good thing if they go on strike.

Don’t throw that crispy Christmas tree in the trash now that the holiday is over. Most cities across the county will pick it up and recycle it straight from the curb on regular trash days. For those living in multifamily complexes, drop-off locations are available. The trees are collected and taken to landfills where they are grinded into mulch for future use. In Chula Vista, the mulch is used at the Otay Landfill during wet weather to enhance slope stability. For those who feel badly for trees that are cut down and used as temporary Christmas decor, Environmental Services Program Director Lynne France of Chula Vista offers this: “Christmas trees are not as environmentally horrible as everyone thinks, because they are plantation grown for the purpose of being a Christmas tree,” France said. “It’s not like they are cutting down old-growth forests to give you a Christmas tree.” In my opinion I believe that people should try to do something possitive with these trees and not throw them away that way they can probably grow more from them.

On Christmas morning, Mariah “Riley” Williams was stuck in her bed at Rady Children’s Hospital, coping with chronic pain from sickle cell anemia. But much to the 18-year-old’s surprise, it was a day filled with laughter. The hospital’s administrators had relaxed the visitor rules for the holiday, so Riley was able to receive hugs and open presents not only from her mother but also her younger sister. And the nursing staff in the cancer and blood-disease unit had dropped off gifts from Santa to each room the night before. The staff also had decorated the ward with miniature Christmas trees and gingerbread houses. All of that helped break the monotony and isolation that patients such as Riley face during their lengthy stays at the San Diego hospital. Riley began the morning opening piles of presents pajamas and six stuffed animals from hospital donations, a scarf and a hand-decorated pillowcase from her sister, and a Hello Kitty book bag and trendy hooded sweat shirts from Mom. I think it is sad that they were not home for christmas but I think they should be thankfull for breahing and being together that’s what really matters the most.

Senate Democratic leaders struggled Monday to get President Barack Obama's health care overhaul on track for passage by Christmas, faced with moderates' opposition to expanding Medicare and internal party disputes over abortion and importing cheaper prescription drugs. In a make-or-break week, the leadership called an early evening meeting of all Democrats Monday, just hours after the latest obstacle emerged - Independent Sen. Joe Lieberman's threat to join Republicans in blocking the bill over a plan to allow uninsured individuals as young as 55 to purchase Medicare coverage. The senator said Sunday he opposes it, speaking in a television interview and later in a private meeting with Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev. Separately, Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., a leading foe of abortion rights, was scheduled to meet with Obama at the White House to discuss the impasse over stiffening the bill's abortion restrictions. Lieberman strongly rebutted charges that he flip-flopped to oppose the expansion of Medicare as part of health care legislation. "Contrary to the claims of anonymous aides, Senator Lieberman told (Majority Leader Harry) Reid on Friday that he had problems with the Medicare provision," said Marshall Wittman, a spokesman for the Connecticut Independent. "This position was also told to negotiators earlier in the week. Consequently, Senator Lieberman's position came as no surprise to the Democratic leadership. In my opinion I think it should be a good thing that they are trying to help and that obama is doing a great thing for us.

Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus is defending recommending his girlfriend for appointment as Montana's U.S. attorney. Baucus said the he and former state office director Melodee Hanes began dating when they were both separated from their spouses. The Montana Democrat said they did not have an affair. In a statement issued by his office Saturday, Baucus said he recommended Hanes to become Montana's U.S. attorney because she is a highly qualified prosecutor who tried more than 100 jury trials, and said she is widely regarded as an expert in child abuse prosecution. Baucus, who is helping Democrats expand health care, nominated Hanes for the post in March. But she later withdrew, saying she had been presented with other opportunities she couldn't pass up. Baucus said the two now live together in Washington. In my opinion I think they shouldn’t get in his business, its not a good thing to cheat but its not good to tell the world all his wrongs. And I think with all this going on air and online he probably learned his lesson not to cheat when you’re a celeb.

One potential touchdown pass was grabbed by the wind. Another was nullified by a holding penalty. And these two significant setbacks amounted, approximately, to squat. The Chargers went on the road after an abbreviated week of practice for a Christmas night game against a Tennessee Titans team with its whole season at stake, and they left them looking like a snail engaged in single combat with a steamroller.“Kevered,” was the word Tennessee tackle Tony Brown used to describe the Chargers’ 42-17 trampling of the Titans last night at LP Field. And though that term can be traced at least as far back as Geoffrey Chaucer, its meaning may be a little obscure for modern audiences.“The word ‘kevered’ means we got run amok, outplayed, anything you want it to be,” Brown explained. What it meant last night is that the Chargers can take a punch and not flinch, that they have so many weapons performing so close to peak efficiency that their periodic reversals offer opponents only temporary reprieves. It means that a 52-yard touchdown pass can be taken off the board and elicit a reaction resembling a group shrug. In my opinion I think that the charers are doing great and they are the best team on the legue we are going and win the superbowl if we keep playing this good.

Crowds attended prayers and other ceremonies across Asia on Saturday to mark the anniversary of the deadly Indian Ocean tsunami that killed about 250,000 people in 14 countries five years ago.
The towering waves left hundreds of thousands displaced on coastlines across Africa and Asia.
One of the hardest hit areas was Banda Aceh in Indonesia, where about 150,000 people died. Residents held religious gatherings and a moment of silence to pay tribute to victims of a disaster triggered by an undersea earthquake off the island of Sumatra.
A 6.0 magnitude undersea earthquake struck near Indonesia on Saturday, but there were no reports of injury or damage, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The depth of the quake ruled out the need for a tsunami warning, local officials said.In Banda Aceh, the Indonesian vice president, Boediono, offered a prayer at a mass grave site of the tsunami victims. Residents left flowers at the site and read prayers from small books. A few wept as they sat in the shade to escape the heat.
In my opinion I think it is really sad that all this happened it is something you can control, I cant imagine all the pain the parents are feeling in this moment the best we can do is pray

The new year ushered in higher water rates for San Diegans, who joined residents countywide in paying more to cover the rising wholesale cost of water. In November, the San Diego City Council approved a 7.75 percent rate increase for typical single-family homeowners after agreeing with a staff report that said the city had no choice but to recoup the additional money it is spending on water. The study estimated that higher wholesale rates amount to about $30 million more a year citywide. The price increase is the sixth jump since 2007 for San Diego rate payers, who are financing upgrades to the water system on top of buying more expensive water. Typical single-family customers in San Diego will see their 2010 bills rise by about $5 a month, though the exact amount will vary with use. In my opinion I think that it sucks but at the same time its ok that way people don’t waste that much water and take care of it maybe paying more for water is gonna help.

For years South Grade Road, the seven-mile, winding path from state Route 76 to the top of Palomar Mountain, has been a favorite of motorcyclists who love the tight turns the road offers. Leaning deep into every bend, the riders on their high-performance bikes zip up and down the mountain, often passing cars and frequently wiping out. Every year numerous serious accidents are reported, occasionally fatal ones, and far more accidents probably occur that authorities never know about since the bikers would rather suffer quietly than have their insurance companies know what they’ve been up to. Several years ago Palomar Mountain Volunteer Fire Department Chief George Lucia requested the county install “rumble strips” in the center of the road. Indentations would be cut beneath the double-yellow lines that snake up the mountain. Motorcyclists and motorists would then hear when they crossed into the opposite lane in my opinion I think they should make motorcycles much safer and maybe decrease the deaths or maybe putting more rules to the drivers.

The Chargers turned an inconsequential game Sunday into something they could feel good about going into the playoffs, beating the Washington Redskins 23-20 with a late touchdown drive engineered by backup quarterback Billy Volek to close out the regular season with their 11th straight victory.“It still keeps our momentum going,” tight end Antonio Gates said. “We didn’t want to lose this game.”Gates, like most of the starters, was out of the game by the time the second quarter began.Even though it was his plan to rest his starters after about 20 plays, head coach Norv Turner told his team this week how impressive it would be to get to 13 victories. And it did so, achieving the second-most wins in franchise history, behind only the 14-2 team of 2006. In my opinion the chargers are gona win all they are playing very well I hope they even take it all the way and win the superbowl! So hopefully they keep up the great work!

The Padres have between $5 million and $8 million to spend on free agents before spring training. The question is when and how General Manager Jed Hoyer pulls the trigger. With the trade possibilities for third baseman Kevin Kouzmanoff evaporating, Hoyer might not be able to fill the Padres’ needs via a trade meaning he’ll likely be seeking a right-handed-hitting center fielder, a backup catcher, a utility infielder and a veteran pitcher on the free-agent market.Cut as many as four ways, that $5 million to $8 million isn’t going to go very far.however, there are still 121 major league free agents on the market.“There are going to be some bargains out there as spring training approaches,” says Hoyer. “There will be players, although you might not be able to be selective.“We want to be sure we target a handful.”Who might the Padres be targeting, Hoyer isn’t saying. But there are some names that are known to interest the Padres. Here is a quick look at the positions the Padres are trying to fill. Center field: The Padres would like to have a right-handed hitter to balance Tony Gwynn, who many view more as a fourth outfielder. Reed Johnson, 33, who had foot and back problems last year, interests the Padres. He also apparently interests the Yankees as a reserve. Scott Podsednik and Rick Ankiel are both available. But both are lefthanded hitters. In my opinion I think the padres are spending to much money when they don’t need to and if they are gonna spend that much then they should buy alex rodriguez from the yankees and win the world series!

At least one person has been killed in an accident on northbound Interstate 5 Monday night between Oceanside and the Orange County line, the California Highway Patrol said. Witnesses told the CHP the sedan was speeding just before the driver lost control about 10 p.m. The car rolled over several times and ended up on its roof with all of the windows blown out, the CHP said. The crash occurred about a half-mile south of the truck scales near the county line. A Sheriff’s Department helicopter was summoned to search the area for passengers who may have been ejected. That’s all the information they have for now but in my opinion I that it is terrible and sad for the families going through this I cant imagine how painfull it must be for them all we can do is pay our respect and pray.
