Alexis-
My expectations before going to the zoo were that i was going to learn a lot, or at least get to see the different animals. My animal exhibit was about a hippo. I saw that the hippos needed a of water. You could not even see the hippos because they were just in the water. I learned that the hippo is from Africa. I also learned that their habitat is in deep water, with adjacent reedbeds and grasslands. I also learned that reason for this animal being vulnerable to extinction is because It is being hunted for hide, its ivory tusk and loss of grazing lands for cultivation.
There is not really a way I can make their exhibit better. I thought the exhibit was fine just the way it was. The hippos had a large body of water to be in. The hippos also had some grass. If there is one thing I would change, it would be making their exhibit larger. Animals that big need a lot of space. Another way I would try to change the exhibit is by adding a way for the zookeepers to be able to feed the animals easier.
I think I behaved well on the field trip. When you are on a field trip you not be acting like a little kid. I thin you should act your age. My group behaved well. Nobody did anything dumb. I also think that our class should be able to go on other field trips. I think that we should go on a field trip at the end of the school year. I think It should be like grad night.
Over all I liked the field trip. It was annoying because of all the hills, but I like it. I thought it got kind of boring after a while though. Some suggestions I have are that the field trip should be places which are more interesting. I think like a Holocaust museum, or something in Balboa park, like the museum where all the machines used for the tortures of others are.
My expectations for going to the zoo on a class field trip was someone was going to act up and get suspended. The thing i enjoyed the most was when i was eating ribs at our brake. The whole field trip was fun and i learned a lot about certain animals like what habitats they need to survive and if they are solitary animals or like to live in groups. My animal exhibit was on gorillas and i did thought their habitat was really good. I looked to see if the animals had enough space or if they looked happy and it seemed as if they did. The animals though seemed to have needed a little more trees with big leaves to make the setting look a little more tropical. The report grade i give the exhibit is a B- because it needed a little more tropical leaves in it. The animal was in endangered but was said to be in a help group to help keep them from becoming extinct. I plan on making the exhibit better by putting some more natural trees with real fruit and make it look more tropical. Well my idea will benefit the animals a lot and make it better for them as also to the zoo keepers because they will not have to go inside to feed them as much.
When on a field trip you should act as you would in front of your mom because their are a lot of white people ready to criticize the other races like always. Well it was not hard to act normal and not have any embarrassments happen. Next time i would behave as i did this time because it is not hard to do so. I think my behavior was good i didn't do anything inappropriate and so was everyone else in my group. I think everyone was good and the group was so good we are able to have another field trip.
I think that the class was good and i enjoyed going. I think this should happen a lot more often but without all the work after the field trip. I think a field trip is to have fun and learn not be tested the whole time and then go back to class doing all of this extra work.
Zoo paragraphs 1/12/10 By Eduardo
I enjoyed the field trip to the zoo. I saw many animals that I never saw before like the Wallaby, the camels, the condors and others. For the animal exhibit project I picked out the Grizzly bear. The grizzly bears that live in the wild have a some difference in habitat then those who live at the zoo. Some of the Grizzly bears, just had a sloppy hill, some water, wood, but not enough grass. Also the wood was just cut off and weren't even trees. What I thought was that the exhibit would have more grass, and more food like fish. I think the exhibit at the zoo deserves a B. Most of the bears were vulnerable, but the one that’s the most endangered are the pandas and the polar bears. I think the bears deserve more grass, more water, more food, and needs some trees so it would feel like the wild. I think mine will benefit because the animal will feel the same way it is in the wild and will just most likely live the same way. I also think that some bears can be trained to not hurt people.
I know that Miss Jade expects us to behave good, and to obey the rules. It wasn’t hard to behave. I would try to behave better next time. I did behave good and didn’t got into a problem. During the trip I did heard some students say bad words. I did think that some groups behaved good, because nobody got switched and there were no bad comments. I did notice that some students were talking about there social life more than the fieldtrip.
Something's I didn’t know about some animals was that they are getting endangered. I knew some of them are but not most of them. Another thing that surprised me was that some animals are in there twenties, thirties, forties. I also learned that something's that may seam not important for us could be a huge impact for animals, including recycling, trash, and global warming. Also hunting could wipe a species to extinction. I learned that animal life is important and that we should care even if we don’t like them.
sergio-Before I went to the zoo I thought that it was going to be boring and dumb, but it was quite interesting and I learned a lot of things. I rated my exhibit as being poorly equipped with all the things a camel needs to be happy and survive. I learned that the camel that I was writing about is from Russia and from Central America. The camels that I am writing about are meant to be in cold weather and are also used to haul heavy loads. The camels aren’t endangered because people don’t hunt them or eat them and there natural habitat isn’t being taken away.
When you are out on a field trip it is important to act appropriate because you are representing the school. It is not hard for me to act appropriately because I always act correctly. While I was on the field trip yesterday I was respectful to everyone and obeyed the teacher and also I didn’t use bad language.
From the field trip I learned that it is very important to act appropriate and respectful to others. Hopefully next field trip I will act the same way because I acted exactly the way the teacher said we should act.
Before I went to the San Diego Zoo, my expectations were seeing new attractions and refreshing my memory from when I last went in the 2nd grade. I enjoyed the monkey trails the most because it was an interesting site on their actions. My visit was overall a good experience since it's rarely that I visit the zoo. The animal exhibit I had to research was the orangutan and I would rate that exhibit a 5/5 with its environment, food access, and environmental interactivity. I learned that animals need have different needs to survive such as: food, environment, shelter etc. These apes are rare and the males often live alone while females spend up to eight years raising their young. The only idea I plan on making the exhibit better is by having a bigger exhibit because their exhibit right now is already a good enough place for them and it will benefit the growth of the animal and safety of the people and zoo keepers.
You should act with respect when you are out on a field trip and respect the others around you, it isn't hard to behave in appropriates behavior. My behavior on the trip was good and was appropriate I believe and didn't see much inappropriate behaviors and think that this group can behave well and be trusted to go on other field trips. Some good social skills I observed were asking questions from the zoo keepers and observing little actions from the animals.
I like field trips, haven't been in a field trip since elementary school.
My expectations before going to the zoo were that it was going to be kind of boring. The thing I enjoyed the best was seeing all the animals I sow. I learn different things from different animals. My visit was pretty firme I liked going to the zoo I sow a lot of different types of animals I learn what do the animals eat, sleep and live while they are in the zoo. The animal that I have to do the exhibit is the okapi. I rated that my exhibit needed more improvement because I did not see a lot of the food pins I couldn’t even see if they drank water because I see any water trays. I sow that the animal needed more trees since they do eat leaves they live in where there is all dirt and trees I learned that the okapi has a very long tongue and they could clean their eyes and ears and they also had a little cave on the side. I would give my exhibit a S because I think it needs more work on it they need water if they drink water and more food trays or trees with more leaves. I learn the animal was not endangered it is an vulnerable animal its habitat is dense, damp forest and that is the only animal related to the giraffe.
I plan on making my exhibit better by putting more trees and water. My exhibit is going to have more food for the animal and for every male I have there is going to be a female for them so they could make babies and the population can grow and for the zoo keepers I don’t really care I don’t think these would hurt them unless they felt in threaten.
You should act with proper manners and act like your age to represent the school good and will not deny us if they wanted to take us again. No it’s was not hard behave in appropriates way. Next time I would behave the same way I did this time because I did a good good job on behaving well. My behavior was very good I did a good job on not being loud and running around the place. Yes it was appropriate. I did notice any inappropriate behaviors on myself maybe a little something from other students but I wont mention any names. Yes I think the group can behave and be trusted to go on other field trips. I did not observed a lot of communication skills from other students.
I learn about different animals it was fun I liked going to the zoo.

The expectations were to make your exhibits for your animals. I enjoy watching all the animals especially the tigers and lion. I saw that the elephant were happy, there exhibits are a large place with a river and a three. I don’t know if I rated my exhibits. I saw that the animals were happy around there environments, I guess they liked were they live because they seemed like they were happy were they stayed at. They got feed good by there owners and their zoologist. I don’t know if elephants are in endangered or not because they don’t look like they be endangered.
My expectations were to be bored. The most I enjoy is spending the time with my friends Sergio and Sarah. My visit was wonderful. I saw a lot of animals and learn were they came from. The Meerkats were my animal exhibit that I had to research. I rated the exhibit of a 8. I learn that not all camels are the same, the ones with one hump and are hairless are for the desert and the ones with two humps and have a hair coat are for the winter. I give it an 8, because we didn’t get to see all the zoo. I learn that Meekest are social animals. Meekest are not in endangered.By been there more time and making our own groups. My exhibit will help because with all the students that went that’s enough money for the zoo to help them in anything.

We should act like if we got manners and we are well behave. I'm going to behave well next time we go to another field trip. My behavior was excellent I would stay with the group and yeah. I think this group was fantastic and we could be behave for another field trip. They would tell the group that what they think about the animal and there exhibits.
What I learned in this field trip is that the animals could be separated from other animals, that they can be endangered. My animal would always just be there standing around so I think they don’t like being seen or something I don’t know..
When we made our trip to the Zoo I didn’t really expect nothing to happen. I mean it was going to be a surprise because I haven’t been to the zoo since I was little. IWhat I enjoyed most was looking at the guerillas. I felt bad that people were tormenting them, but I thought it was funny when the Silver back was sleeping then woke up to scratch his butt. The visit to the zoo was fine. I did get a little tired but I love certain animals so I was some what happy. My animal exhibit was the Giraffe. I rated that exhibit low because I didn’t fell the Giraffe’s needs were met. I would give my exhibit a D just because the animals weren’t in any harm in their pen. I didn’t learn much about the Giraffe except that they were vulnerable. In my exhibit I plan on switching it all around, because they didn’t have enough space and had to change the way they gathered their food.
When you are on a field trip you should behave as if you have common sense and not like a little baby. I will behave the same behavior as I did on the field trip. My behavior was appropriate. Well I think the group I was in was well behaved. I think we will behave well and can be trusted on other field trips. We all came together to find our way to where we need to go.
I loved the Elephant. I am so sad for him. He left his three girlfriends at the Wild Animal park and he was sad. On top of that they wanted him to hook up with five new girls. I also loved the Lion and lioness they were so cute they reminded me of lion king. And all the monkeys are my friends.
Before going to the zoo I expected to have a good day, walk a lot, and see a lot of different animals. I enjoyed seeing the lions the most they are on of my favorite animals because they are so powerful and they run the jungle. The animal that I researched was the zebra. I saw that the zebra had a very large penis. The zebra has a very beautiful pattern and they’re a lot like horses. I gave the exhibit a high rating I would give the exhibit a report card grade of a “B+“. There was a lot of room for them and there were nice shaded areas. I would add some females in the enclosure because they were all males.
When you are on a field trip you should behave maturely and follow your chaperones instruction. It wasn’t hard for me to behave right because I am an adult and I know how to act in public, especially if I’m with my school. I will behave the same next time because I feel like my actions were appropriate. I was pretty surprised how my group acted. I was expecting them to be bad but they were well behaved. I think the group I was with could be trusted to go on other field trips. I didn’t notice any good communication skills or social skills by my group.
Even though I felt like crap on the field trip I had fun and saw a lot of beautiful animals. I like going to the zoo but at the same time it makes me sad to see the animals confined in their enclosures. It kind of reminds me of an animal jail, like they’re being punished. Especially when there are ignorant people tapping on the glass. From this experience I learned that just because you feel a little better doesn’t mean that you’re all the way better
