Monday- today I read about a baby elephant. The elephant was said to be born on Sunday around two A.M. The elephants around started to trumpet their horns letting everyone know the baby was there. There were some campers staying there and they said they were awakened by the sound. This is the thirteenth elephant in the herd here in the Wild Animal Park. The baby is still not named yet but the mom’s name means taller then trees. Some park ranger said that elephants are really social animals and they sounded happy to let everyone know that the calf was there. The calf is still waiting to be named by the park after developing in her mother’s stomach for about twenty two months.
This was a nice story because not often is an elephant born. The baby should have a normal name because the mom has a really weird name. The story should of also had more details about how much the baby weighed or something like that.
I learned that people are allowed to stay the night at the Wild Animal Park.

In today’s news I read about a Taiwanese fishing vessel that was SEEK by pirates and anchored off the Somali coast for nearly 10 months was released on Thursday night. The Win Far 161 was held off the coast of Harardheere until the pirates left the ship and allowed its commander to retake control. The vessel was hijacked April in the Somali Basin, about 184 miles north of the Seychelles islands. The vessel reported that all 28 crew members were safe. The boat was operating outside the EU NAVFOR area of operation and was therefore not registered with the Maritime Security Centre for the Horn of Africa. The ship's owner reported that the crew was released with food, fuel and water. The ship headed out to sea, where it was being monitored by the EU NAVFOR. EU NAVFOR escorts Somalia vessels TRANSFER humanitarian aid from the World Food Program to protect them in the RESOURCE of Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean and to deter and disrupt piracy.

This morning I read about three unarmed securities who stood and watched a 15 year old girl get beat. The girl was punched in the face, and kicked in the head by a group of young people. This all happened in a Downtown Seattle bus tunnel. The guards actions was all captured on video surveillance, and has been being reviewed for the policy that unarmed call police and do not try to stop the fights. A sergeant said that the guards have to follow as told on their training. He also said that if a bank teller gets robbed she has to give the robber the money or else she will get fired. He also said they don’t expect civilians to take police action. The Security guards were also outnumbered in this case.
First of all, my INITIAL reaction to this story is I think that there is NO point in having securities if they do not do anything. They do not prevent crimes, they just call the police. Civilians call the police also if there is a crime taking place. I also think that the Sergeant was protecting Securities, because If a bank teller is getting robbed and finds a way of not giving the money, the people she works with would think of her as a hero, and they would definitely not fire her. I think that securities should at least have a taser. I also think that the victim should sue the security business and be COMPENSATED with money.
I learned that some securities are not needed, and that sometimes there is not point in even having securities, If they do no INTERACT with the criminals the proper way. I also learned that they are not trained with the skills they should have.

In today’s news, a woman was found dead had been at National City Bar. The woman was struck and killed early Sunday morning on the 805 in National City had been with friends at a nearby bar about half an hour before her body was found. She was at the Plum Loco Saloon and told her friend she was needed to step out to be COMPENSATED and get some air outside. Her friend noticed INITIALLY she didn’t come back and her purse and wallet was still at the bar and she filed a missing-person report with the police. Her body was found on the 805 near the 54. They were investigating with her friends and INTERACTING with the body to see if it was suicidal.

This morning I read an article about a woman who was struck an killed on the 805 freeway last Sunday. The woman had been INTERACTING with her friends at a bar a half-hour before her body was found. She told a friend that she wanted to go outside for air and she never returned. She left her purse at the bar. Her friend became worried when her friend didn’t return so she filed a missing persons report. Authorities are still doing toxicology reports and trying to rule out if she was suicidal. They INITIALLY didn’t know the woman’s identity because her purse was at the bar. I think the woman was either too drunk or drugged. I don’t understand why someone would just be on the freeway. It doesn’t make sense too me. I think also maybe someone could have kidnapped her from outside the bar and then just dumped her on the freeway. I also don’t get why her friend would just let her go outside by herself, the buddy system works people!

Tuesday- In today's paper I read a article about 9-11. In the article they showed a large picture of the Twin towers in flames. The clouds from the explosion interacted with the buildings near. The picture was taken by Police Helicopters , and those were the first from that angle. The picture was compensated by the news because of the Freedom of information act. The pictures showed a better view then the initial pictures. The Helicopter driver said that he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. This Act is letting everybody see what's really going on. Some people think that the worlds eyes are not ready for what the government has in store. Some survivors even found the pictures to difficult to look at.

Wednesday- Today i read about Til'as case againt charger Merriman. Her Attorneys say San Diego Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman and television star Tila Tequila have settled dueling lawsuits. Merriman was arrested by sheriff's deputies Sept. 6 after Tequila accused him of battery and false imprisonment at his suburban San Diego home. Prosecutors declined to charge Merriman but Tequila, whose real name is Tila Nguyen, filed a lawsuit that alleged the linebacker choked her. Merriman sued for international interference with a contract, claiming the controversy delayed a T-shirt business he was negotiating with Wal-Mart Stores Inc. Tequila attorney Cyrus Nownejad said Tuesday he won't disclose terms of the settlement. Neither will Merriman attorney Andrew Skale, who said the dispute was resolved amicably

In today's news I read about the US Border Patroller who revealed a 30 pound of drugs stuffed into a framed of Jesus Christ. This wasn’t their first time discovering this kind of attempts putting ganja in religious figures. The authorities said that a 22-years old driving a Jeep from Juarez, Mexico who was INTERACTING with the federals that she wasn’t involved in nothing, and the border patrol checked the vehicle with a dog named Cesar who sniffed the drugs in a Jesus Christ portrait. The officers pulled back the portraits and found the marijuana stashed. So she was INITIALLY arrested. This bust was one of the three marijuana seizure made on Tuesday at El Paso, TX port of entry. They seized 214 pounds of marijuana in the two other busts.

Wednesday - In today's news, a man falls into a volcano. A mans initial idea to climb Mount Helen, turned into a big fall .He climbed Volcano and once he got to the top, the Hiker fell in. The rescue team assume they heard a help whistle and say they saw something moving. When the next rescue team got there, There was nothing . As they worked on the weather got to harsh, It made it hard for them to interact . There was no sign of the hikers where a bout's. I don’t understand what's so good about climbing a mountain anyway. It’s a complete waste of time, and a life. I'm trying to compensate what was going through his head when he was getting to the top of the volcano. There’s nothing safe about climbing a Volcano at any minute it can blow, it common sense .

In today’s news, 30 pounds of pot were found inside pictures of Jesus. The found marijuana was an attempt smuggle across the U.S.-Mexico border. An agency claims that it hasn’t been the first time they have seen smugglers attempt to use religious figures and articles of faith to increase their criminal enterprise. Authorities say a 22-year-old woman in a Jeep COMPENSATED and told federal border patrol officers that she had nothing to declare besides the framed art. They checked the vehicle with a drug-sniffing dog that INTERACTED with the vehicle and INITIALLY declared to three pictures of Jesus in the car. Officers pulled out the frames and found bundles of Marijuana and arrested the woman. The bust was one of three seizures made that day and officers found 214 pounds of marijuana in the two other busts.

Today- I read about a Hollywood director who was too fat to the plane. The Pilot told the director if he could get off because he was a safety risk. The pilot said since the man was too fat to put his armrest down. The director responded with a bunch of profanity and went off posting some really bad comments on twitter. The airline called the director and offered him an apology and a little reward but he refused. They also told him if he could take the postings off the website but he refused. The director also stated that there was someone fatter than him on the plane but he didn’t get kicked off. This was an outrage for the 39 year old.
I think that this is really messed up to kick someone off a plane because of his weight. Then again that’s what he gets for being overweight. The airline should have that as a new policy.
I learned that you can be too fat to ride on a plane.

This morning I read about some people who came out in a popular show called The Jersey Shore. One member of the group that cam out in the show known as “The Situation”, who's real name is Mike Sorrentino is coming out with a cologne. The cologne is said to smell like money. Another cast mate known as Jwow, who’s real name ins Jenni Farley is coming out with her own clothing line. These two are taking advantage of their little time in the spotlight. The only thing is, is that they need to hurry up while they are still popular, since their show already ended. The cast is going to be paid to come out on a second season. They are going to be getting paid 180,000 dollars each.
I think that what these two cast mates are doing is a good idea. Why not take advantage and try to make more money. I also think that it is kind of ridiculous that they are going to be getting paid so much for coming out on the second season.
I learned that anybody can basically get famous on t.v, all you have to do is be very scandalous.

This morning I read a story about a family from Bonsall that have not been seen or heard from since Feb. 4. Missing are Joseph McStay, 40; his wife Summer, 43; and their two children, Gianni, 4, and Joseph, 3. Joseph McStay’s brother called deputies Monday evening asking for a welfare check at the family’s home. Authorities found evidence that suggested the family had not left on a planned vacation and the sheriff’s homicide unit was called to investigate. The family’s pets were left at home with apparently no one to care for them. The brother also said the family’s white 1996 Isuzu Trooper has been found in San Ysidro. Sheriff’s officials said they look into all possibilities in cases such as these, including family problems, drug connections, threats and financial problems. I think maybe the husband was involved with some drug activity and then people kidnapped him and his family as COMPENSATION. When I started reading the story I INITIALLY thought the husband just killed his family and then fled to somewhere. Now I think he INTERACTED with some drug people in T.J.

This morning I read about an elderly woman who crashed into a store. This elderly woman was 87 years old. This lady hit the gas instead of the brakes while parking, and accidentally hit Jamba Juice. She hit the Jamba Juice on Clairemont Drive near Lakehurst Avenue. This all took place just before 11:30 a.m. Nobody was hurt, said a San Diego Fire Rescue Department spokesman. The crash damaged the door of Jamba Juice but the building was still ok.
I think that this is not a weird situation. This lady is 87 years old, a lot of old people do not drive very well, due to their eyesight, sometimes. It is a good thing that nobody got hurt.

In today’s, news I read about a Mexican President, Felipe Calderon; who is the president of Ciudad Juarez where a lot of drug trafficking have been taking place has said yesterday that he is going to maximum his capabilities to restore the violent border city of Ciudad Juarez, México. When Calderon was at the meeting he was INTERACTING to get help to turn the city around. Juarez is the epicenter of a bloody turf war between two rival drug cartels. Killings have become a daily occurrence as the cartels fight each other for control of lucrative smuggling routes into the United States, as well as local drug dealing in Juarez. It was 15 people who got massacre in last month that shocked that country, and made president Calderon come to action. Calderon said that he would liked an idea of upgrading city parks and creating new communal areas, and said the government would help extend the school day as part of a pilot program to keep youths off the streets. In general, Calderon said, what Juarez needs are new ways of doing things. He cited a new process for the way policemen are recruited and supervised as an example. Residents of Juarez attempting to highlight growing frustration with Calderon's war against organized crime took to the streets by the hundreds Saturday. Many held signs and INTIALS calling Calderon "Assassin.“ he was trying to COMPENSATE to put new stuff to make the city look better and make it better too.

Thursday- today I read about The officers, with Customs and Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement, do not always make sure their firearms are put away and, for that they lost a huge number of firearms between the year of 2006 and 2008. In all, 243 firearms were lost in both agencies during that period.36 were lost because of circumstances beyond officers' control -- for instance, ICE lost a firearm during an assault on an officer. Another 28 were lost even though officers had stored them in lockboxes or safes. But 74 percent, or 179 guns, were lost because officers did not properly secure them. the report said.
Following a review of the draft report in December, Homeland Security took steps to implement its recommendations and overhaul its property management policy, according to a response in the report. The report concluded the department did not have specific procedures and policies in place regarding firearms. Instead, DHS relied on its components to augment its general property management policies and procedures with specific guidance for safeguarding and controlling firearms, it said. Although some policies and procedures for safeguarding firearms were sufficient, personnel did not always follow them.

Thursday- Today I read an article on Shaun White. The famous snowboarder seems to be one of the top athletes there is. The man has from socks to undergarments in his name brand. He has won a gold medal in almost everything that has to do with snowboarding. The press even mentioned that he had his own video game out. The man is said to be on top right now and is becoming a rich man. This particular guy has a street wear brand by his name. Shaun White one of Americas top athlete is said to be the next Tiger Woods.
This was a good article but it pissed me off. The reason is because another white person is being recognized. There should be less fame given to him besides its only snowboarding.
I learned that there will always be someone white that turns rich doing what others do for fun.

Thursday In today's paper I read a article about a lion. This lion was living in a cave in the wild. Some strange women loves big cats and decided to take it in. The lion emerged from hiding in his cave, and they are deciding whether to put him down or keep him captive. She had a sanctuary built for the lion, and hopes to have more lion to accompany him. This will cost her $250,000 to build a larger sanctuary. There are three African lions, four tigers, three bobcats, and a leopard in the refuge. There is a wired gate that let people interact with the animals. Its hard to compensate because the initial size of the area is 93 acres. But the refuge has to be 4,300 square feet.

In today’s news, 180 Department of Homeland Security weapons were lost after officers lefft them in restrooms, vehicles and other public places. In all, 243 firearms were lost in both the Customs and Border Patrol and immigration and Customs Enforcement. 36 of them were lost during an assault on an officer and another 28 were lost even though officers had stored them in lockboxes or safes and 179 guns were lost because they were not properly secured. The department did not specific procedures and policies in place regarding firearms. One inspector INTERACTED and noticed a Customs officer that left a firearm in an idling vehicle in the parking lot of a convenience store, the vehicle was stolen while the officer was inside and COMPENSATED to later recovered his firearm from a suspected gang member and drug smuggler. Of the 179 lost, 120 were reported stolen and 59 as los and all may have been prevented if officers INITIALLY properly secured their firearms.

Friday- Today I read about a murder that happened in 1993. Imprisoned brothers admitted to their charges. In a 1993 slaying brothers have shot and killed two men one a single man the other a father. The jury gave one a 16- to life sentence and the other got 6 years in the state pen. What I wonder is why one got least then the other? If they did it together shouldn’t they get the same time? Also how come it took them 17 years to admit? Why didn’t they do it from the start I think that’s stupid they wasted 17 years of their life and their about to waste more. But hey that’s them and their not using their head. Well hopefully they got it good in their.

Friday - In today's paper I read a article about racism. In the article I learned that UCSD students threw a racist party. In the party the white UCSD student mocked the Black History culture. The invitations compensated wanted the girls to dress cheap, act ghetto, and start drama. Many of the black people at the school were offended. The same people that attended the party were people that the went to school with. Some were friends and others were just random people. The name of the party was “The Compton Cookout”, they wanted everybody to act s the stereotypes they hear. The school say that they cannot do anything to the student because the party had nothing to do with the school. I think that the school and the student are wrong for that. The initial point of the party was to be racist, and they had no consequences. I had UCSD on my list of what colleges I wanted to go to, but now I'm giving it a second thought. The racism implemented in the party would make it hard to interact with the white students there.

This morning I read about genetic screenings. A lot of woman are now getting tested to see if their babies they are going to have will have diseases such sickle cell, cystic fibrosis, Tay-Sachs, thalassemia, and spinal muscle. These diseases are now dropping in numbers, and disappearing. These diseases are not seen a lot anymore because people are now using genetic testing to decide whether they want children or not. The cost of these test are dropping, and the places doing these test is getting higher. Genetic testing is making a lot of people mad about abortions, embryo destruction and about eugenics. These diseases occur when people inherit two bad genes, one from each parent. The gene can pass without notice for generations until two carriers mate. Then the children have a 1 in 4 chance of getting the disease.
I think that the genetic screenings are a great idea. I do kind of understand for the people who are against abortions, but then again they are not going to be the ones raising a baby who you know is going to die in a few years (Tay-Sachs disease), or have to raise a baby that require A LOT of care.
I learned that diseases are being cured in different ways, by stopping it at once, and not even letting the babies be born.

Friday- Today I read about some racist profiling in SDSU. The article stated that a fraternity club made a bunch of invitations to a party stating to dress and act like black people. The party invitations read come to our Compton cookout. A student who is African American said that the invitation also stated to go dressed with big chains. They also read to dress in cheap clothes and talk loud. The girls were supposed to dress low class and walk around being loud and starting drama. The university is taking no part of action because they stated that it was not bad. The administrators are letting this slide by and are taking no charge.
This article was messed up to black people because the university is not doing anything about this. The people that are offended by this are not able to do anything but to feel discriminated. The administrators should do something about it.
I learned that SDSU is racist and I will never attend it.

This morning I read about a man in Anchorage Alaska who was acquitted of a murder in 2003 and he's now admitting to two other murders, one in 2000 and the other in 2007. the murder in 2007 was his neighbor. He broke into her house abducted her and shot her to death. The other murder was that of an Alaska Native woman whose body was found in an abandoned shed. I think this guys is crazy. He's killed three people and he's only 29. he should be put in the hole permanently so he cant INTERACT with the other inmates. When I first started reading this story I INITIALLY thought that he would be an older man but he's pretty young.
