Today I read about a 36 year old man who died in a blast while on duty in Afghanistan. Rafael Francisco Martinez, since a young boy had a passion for the military and sought a future in it. His father Rafael Martinez had told his son it was a bad idea your my only son you can't join. Nevertheless this didn't stop his son. His father says "I didn't want to lose my only son." Rafael junior always made thinks positive growing up with his sister in a bad neighborhood Rafael always stayed positive. Even during incarceration he helped others said his sister. Also, she say even when we were little and had no toys he always found a way to invent things in order to keep us busy. I think that this man knew what he was getting into when he joined the military and now in days people die from gunshots and stabbings but this solider died honorably; it is fighting for our country.

Rams quarterback Sam Bradford loses his helmet while being sacked by chargers linebacker Kevin Burnett was not fined for the hit. James Harrison from the Steelers was fined for a head injury. He hit Cleveland Browns wide receiver Mohammed Massa quoi who was laid out on the play. He was fined with $75,000 dollars His income is going to be high but with this fine its not good because he has to pay for the injury. The finance of the government is getting more money for the bad injuries the football players have been doing. The economy can go higher for these legal hits.

Monday-Today I read about a pedestrian who was killed in a hit-and-run accident on State Route 56 Tuesday and has been identified as Albert Lee Holman,34, of Mira Mesa. Witnesses said Holman was walking on the shoulder of the Westbound lanes of the highway east of Black Mountain Road just before 3a.m. which was the day after his birthday when he was struck by a 2008 Nissan Sentra. He was possibly hit by another vehicle that did not stop , the registered owner of the vehicle believed to been involved turned herself into authorities later that day and gave a statement about the accident the women was able to return home as the investigation is being continued.

Monday, Friday News-New York wins again in the Harris pole, and San Diego ranked second place again. The Harris Pole is an election in which people vote for the best city there is in the United States or the best place they wish to inhabit. Michael Stetz is mad because it is the fifth time San Diego ranks 2nd place even though we have the best city in the country. I agree with him. San Diego is also most peaceful and less populated which I think is better. Also, traffic in New York is so clogged up that you can last for hours in pedestrian traffic or in car. San Diego is also not at risk for a hurricane and provides with one of the best climates in the world. I believe we keep losing because New York has more people to vote for their city than we do. The Harris Pole isn’t the most accurate vote there is and should be changed based on percentage.

Thousands of people gathered up in Tijuana cultural center on Thursday in a performance called pa Bailar Tijuana. The gathering was half a dozen around the city that was part of the two weeks Tijuana Innovadora. General manager Smith says there had been much more chatter in the locker room about Marcus Mcneill than about Vincent Jackson, Charger players have said they would love to have the talented wide receiver back in expect him to contribute. The income of the GM is going low because of how the chargers are playing right now. The economy can go a little lower only because how the chargers are losing. There are less products being bought of the San Diego Chargers only because of there performance. Also for the GM its finance is not good right now because of the team

Today I read about a ex-marine held in daughter's death. The story is about a ex-marine whom is facing one felony of child abuse. The baby had not been breathing and became unresponsive, the father was taking her a bath in the sink. After an autopsy was made it showed she had several injuries including broken ribs. After, that the county ruled it was a homicide do to blunt force trauma to the torso and an injury to the heart. In addition, witnesses say that the father had showed them videos of a child floating in the kitchen sink; also, he had told them he read a story about a couple who drowned their baby in a sink while taking her a bath. Charges are yet to see what he may face. I think that's stupid, why would someone kill their baby. I'm not in favor of the dad I'm against him, it's stupid it says it all. Some times it's better to keep those kinds of people that are sick in the brain in a -NUT- house.

Today I read an article titled Mexico Burns Massive Cache of Pot.296,000 pounds of marijuana got burnt down On Wednesday in Tijuana. The Mexican flag waving high and Mexican authorities, soldiers, and others gathered to watch the burning of the massive amount of Marijuana. This is the largest amount of marijuana ever found ready for distribution in Mexico. The authorization says they will begin to have more cases like this cause now they are fighting against drug cartels. The marijuana was 52 million doses of pot. If it would've been sold the amount profited from this would have been 103 million dollars. They believe the marijuana came from southern Mexico, they believe the herb came from a Sinaloa cartel. The marijuana was discovered last Sunday with 11 suspects caught. The burning happened 2 weeks before Californians had the chance to vote on proposition 19.An official believes if it is legalized in California and not in Tijuana that will be a major issue.

Today I read about the earthquake that triggered a tsunami off of Sumatra. Although communication with remote areas was difficult, witnesses in West Sumatra reported seeing a 6-meter high wave. One representative said at least one village with a population of about 200 people was swept away, with only 40 people recovered. The numbers were in flux because information was trickling in from parts of Indonesia, a country made up of islands. Large waves were keeping rescue crews from reaching disaster zones. These disasters will definitely affect the Sumatran economy. A lot of missing people will not be getting their income so there will be financial problems too.

Tuesday- Today I read about in Tijuana 296,000 pounds of Marijuana was burned. Dark clouds were up in the sky because of the smoke of the pot. This happened on Wednesday, soldiers from Tijuana were the ones to burn the pot . Some of them are not good and I do believe that some pot was sneaked out on the streets and not burned along with the 296,000 pounds. Felipe Calderon is doing a good job fight against drug-trafficking groups in Mexico. There might be a chance that Mexico can change but it mite take a while. If Marijuana becomes legal all those traffickers will lose money. That would help out take out traffickers and end with them

I believe that the chargers suck now dude; and they could have done better.

Today I read Retailers Say Halloween Business is Booming. This article talks about how even though the economy is bad people aren't afraid to celebrate the holiday.6 billion dollars have been spent on Halloween so far. Tere Puron was shopping at Kearny Mesa for a pot lock they're having at her work. Ellen Davis a white house representative says “its literally a holiday that is just about having fun. They expect the business to get better and say the last few days closer to Halloween tend to get packed. People will be attending places like the Del mar scare grounds or Mira Mar Monster Manor. If you don’t have money for an expensive costume because your income is low there is a lot of goodwill stores, they help alot financially.

Today I read about the majors in Mexico that are being killed by the drug cartels. As the cartels face challenges from the military and rival cartels, many groups are trying to increase their influence over towns in areas they operate. Not only do cartel traffic drug drugs but also human smuggling, extortion, and even public works. A typical drug trafficking organization has a network of lookouts on city streets, “tax” collectors who collect protection money. The duties of the major is to collect taxes, provide security, and carry out public work, and this is where the cartel doesn't approve and fatal results happen. Mexico’s economy is being affected because of all this. The majors have to have finances in order for his town to be having there normal income.

Today I read about Tijuana Killings Reviving Fears.13 people were killed in a Rehab home in Ciudad Juarez. They think this is related with the burning of all those tons of marihuana. The number of killings has Rose to is 666 this year. This sociologist believes that the people that got killed had something to do with the Narcos.14 people were killed at a party when storm men stormed a birthday party in ciudad Juarez, authorities believed it was connected to the narcotic drug gangs. The rehabs are not accepting people anymore cause it could be that someone is fleeing and chose a rehab as a shelter. The gunmen asked the people to lie on floor facing down and then they shot them. The president had a meeting called Innovadora and after the meeting the city had a massacre with beheading and shootings.

Today I read about the Haiti disasters and the zombies that are supposed to be real there. American soldiers with normal income returning from Haiti in the early 20’s and 30’s came home with arresting tales of voodoo potions, black magic, and living zombies. They published their stories in mass-market pulp novel, which in turn inspired horror movies and eventually made their corporeal way to our supermarket aisles during Halloween. But back in Haiti, zombies are real still. Investigators like Hurston investigated the rumors and discovered evidence that powerful drugs were used to replicate a death-like state. With the finances of a scientist, Wade Davis traveled to Port-au-Prince to research the Haitian zombie. He concluded that voodoo priests were employing a concoction of tetrodotoxin, a chemical that can mimic death, it is 100 times deadly as cyandide. Even though the economy of Haiti may go down their dead like they said will rise again with their hundreds of years of voodoo traditions of sorcery, like a local man who had survived fourteen bullets to the fac

I think that all this happens by nature and I don't know if it's because global warming or whatever it was. Nevertheless tsunamis are still going on and will always happen.

Today I read about how the number of the homeless are still rising today. Over 8,500 have no shelter and 1/4 are mentally ill. 53% of the homeless live in the city of San Diego and 74% live in San Diego's downtown. The rate if the homeless has gone up by 8% since 2009. I think that some of these homeless deserve to be out there because they brought it on themselves by not doing what they have to so that they can live a better life. Also, some are subjected to live this way because they were mentally ill or their parents put them trough that type of life and those are the homeless that should be helped the most.

Friday- Today I read about Baja Tourism industry seeks government AID. Group wants increase in funds to alter hard-hit region’s image. Tourism promoters in the Tijuana-to- Ensenada. Federal and state governments to help reverse the drop in U.S. visitors since 2007. They way they will do is by increasing their promotion of the region. Baja California’s tourism board, said the tourism industry is asking that at least $5.6 million be allocated next year. That will be about for promotions and crisis management, up the current sum of $3.2 million. It is good that they want to make a change and I bet it will become better for tourism.

Today I read about Chinas decision about exporting “rare earth” minerals. Earlier this month, reports surfaced that china has significantly decreased imports of 17 rare-earth minerals to the United States and Europe. Such elements, of which 97 percent produced in 2009 came from china, are key in the construction of many high-tech products, including aircraft, electronics and magnets. They’re also key to clean-energy products such as wind turbines and cars, a market that’s seen demand grow significantly. The prospect of a cutoff, or even a draw-down, of such minerals by China put many businessmen and politicians on edge. “China will not use rare earths as an instrument for bargaining,” Zhu Hongren said. “Instead, we hope to cooperate with other countries in the use of rare earths on the basis of win-win outcomes and jointly protect the non-reuseable resources.” Chinese officials said that, at the current rate of production, some reserves of medium and heavy rare-earth minerals may run out after 15 or 20 years, according to the china daily article.

Today I read about the how the U.S military trains Mexicans in hunting down drug traffickers. They are working closely with Mexico armed forces sharing information and training solders in expanding effort to help their country. They are helping them to deal with all the drug cartels. The pentagon counternarcotics funding has nearly risen from 12.2 million in 2008 to 34 million in 2010. It was on the front page in Mexico,
A lot of Mexicans were upset thinking Barrack Obama was insulting them, though the president of the U.S verified that he wasn't in any way. They are using their mind technology to track down drug traffickers. It surprises a lot of people regarding the fact that Mexico is one of the most reluctant country to work with the U.S regarding all the past “bitter invasions”, tough they are still keeping their distant and not excepting the U.S troopers over there “full time”. In the past three years 1.5 billion dollars have been spent away on law enforcement equipment. Also about 700 homicides have been monitored due to all this trafficking. I think its cool that this two countries are teaming up but yet again they shouldn't be so strict with Mexicans coming over for jobs we should work together in all ways including citizenship.
