Monday- Today I read about the University of Washington student had been in Perugia for just a few hours on a hot summer day in 2007 with her younger sister, Deanna, who saw a poster that included the word "appartamento." They followed the girl who had posted the ad to a charming, four-bedroom villa near the University for Foreigners of Perugia overlooking a small valley where figs grew. The sisters chatted for hours in the kitchen with the two friendly Italian girls who lived there and made plans with them to tour the town the next day. To the wanderlust-driven young American, who had been hitting the books hard and working multiple jobs since high school so she could study abroad, it was a dream come true. British exchange student Meredith Kercher moved into the house shortly after Knox settled in. The two foreigners became fast friends, Knox's friends and family say, as they explored Perugia together. None of them had any way of knowing that just weeks later, the home would be the scene of a grisly stabbing that would leave Kercher dead and Knox branded her cold-blooded killer. Prosecutors in Perugia said Knox directed then-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito and another man infatuated with her, Rudy Guede, to hold Kercher down as Knox played with a knife before slashing Kercher's throat.

Today I read about this Canadian woman found alive after 49 days in Nevada. Her husband had ventured off to get help three days after their minivan got stranded off road in the cold untamed Nevada wilderness. On Friday hunters wandered into the remote territory near where Oregon, Idaho and Nevada meet. Three days later she was resting in Idaho hospital spending mothers day with her children. The doctors worked first to address her starvation and dehydration then to build up her ability to eat meals again and gain strength. Her family was happy to see her and glad that she was safe.

Tuesday- Today I read about a mother that killed her 2-year-old daughter. The lady’s name is Casey Anthony. She broke into tears Monday as a judge read potential jurors the indictment accusing the Florida mother of killing her 2-year-old daughter and then lying to law enforcement authorities. The emotional display came during the first day of jury selection in the trial of the 25-year-old Anthony, who is charged with capital murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee. She also faces six other charges, including aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter of a child and misleading law enforcement. Monday's proceedings occurred in a Clearwater, Florida, courthouse, about 100 miles southwest of Orlando where Caylee's grandmother first reported her missing in 2008 -- weeks after the girl was last seen, and five months before her body was found. Authorities moved the proceedings there hoping to draw from a jury pool that was less likely to have seen and been influenced by the intense media coverage surrounding the case.

I have been able to verify that the session has actually been postponed due to the absence the people said that they were not brought in from prison. Josh fatal and Shane Bauer were set to stand trial on Wednesday. The two were charged with espionage after being arrested nearly 22 months ago while hiking along an unmarked border between Iran and Iraqi Kurdistan. There were no reasons given why they were not brought in.

Thursday– today I read about A 63-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting and impregnating his young relative is in federal custody, following his arrest three decades after and about 1,800 miles from where the alleged crime occurred. She waited several decades to tell her story because, at that point, her daughter was an adult and she felt that both were old enough to defend themselves By Thursday, authorities were awaiting clearance to extradite Gibson back to Arizona. The U.S. Marshals' office was not aware if, at that point, he had yet retained or been assigned an attorney. Soon thereafter, Gibson was tracked down in Tennessee. After he refused to provide a DNA sample, law enforcement tried to serve him a court order demanding as much. But by then, he'd fled the state -- prompting a warrant, issued in March of 2009, charging him with kidnapping and sexual assault of a minor

today I read about Louisiana prepares for flood surge as waters close Mississippi casinos. An agonizing three weeks await the residents of three southern states as a historic flood crest slowly worked its way downstream Thursday toward new Orleans along the Mississippi river. The floodwaters that have already inundated tens of thousands of acres of Missouri farmland and lapped at downtown Memphis. Tennessee, are now on steady, soggy march through Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana the flooding also continues to be a problem in southeastern Missouri and southern Illinois. Though the Mississippi and Ohio rivers have already crested in those states. A lot of people are saying that they need to keep preparing for the worst and hope for the best.

Thursday- Today I read about three men that have been charged in the death of a 20-year-old mother who was found in a New Hampshire pond near where her toddler was discovered alone in a car. Anthony Papile has been charged with the second-degree murder of Krista Dittmeyer. Trevor Ferguson and Michael Petelis have each been charged with one count of conspiracy to commit robbery. Authorities said the killing stemmed from a drug-related robbery. Two of the suspects allegedly plotted to rob Dittmeyer of drugs and money, the affiliate reported, citing court documents. One of the suspects sent Dittmeyer a text message telling her to come to his apartment. When she arrived, Papile allegedly hit her in the head with a rubber club, the affiliate reported. Authorities said she was then bound with duct tape and placed in the trunk of a car. Sometime later, Dittmeyer's body was left in a pond. Last month, a passer-by spotted Dittmeyer's black Nissan Sentra with its hazard lights flashing in a parking lot of the Cranmore Mountain ski area in North Conway, which is in eastern New Hampshire.
