Today I read about The South Korean military apologized Monday for shooting at a commercial airplane carrying 119 passengers and crew. The Asiana Airlines flight was preparing to land Friday morning at Incheon International Airport, 70 kilometers (43 miles) west of Seoul, when two soldiers fired at the aircraft after mistaking it for a North Korean military jet. The soldiers were on Gyodong Island near the North Korean border. After firing 99 rounds, they reported the incident.
In Monday’s morning blog I read about Three miners were trapped Monday in a Bell County, Kentucky, coal mine but were unhurt, according to a U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration official. Communications were established with the miners, who were trapped behind water in the mine, and emergency responders were speaking with them every 15 minutes, the official said. Responders were using four pumps to remove water from the mine, according to the official.
Monday-today I read about a on going clashes have left seven Yemeni soldiers and 17 Islamic militants dead in the past two days in the southern province of Abyan, a senior security official said Monday. At least eight soldiers were wounded in the clashes, three of them in serious condition, said the official, who is not authorized to speak to the media and requested his name not be used. Medics at the Republican hospital in Aden, where injured soldiers are being taken for treatment, said at least 29 soldiers were admitted at the hospital since Saturday night, all having come from Abyan. "Most of those admitted to the hospital were injured, but the death toll among security forces will rise over the next 48 hours.”
Monday- Today I read about Court will resume Tuesday, a day after the judge in the Casey Anthony murder trial abruptly canceled the proceedings. Anthony's defense team had to scramble to get a witness to court after Judge Belvin Perry ruled that neither of the two witnesses they had on hand would be allowed to testify Monday. That is an extreme step that has not yet been upheld in Florida courts, but Perry said he would be willing to take the action "at the cost of doing this all over again" should the violations continue. Perry ordered attorneys to be in court at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, instead of the customary 9, and told them to plan for a full workday on Saturday instead of usual half-day. He also threatened to cut the time for lunch.
Tuesday-today I read about a pair of firefighters died in north Florida on Monday while battling the Blue Ribbon wildfire in Hamilton County, the Florida Division of Forestry said. Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam said "We can rebuild the structures and restore the land, but the lives of these two heroes can never be replaced.“Two other firefighters also were injured on the same fire. Both were treated for smoke and heat-related injuries and released from local hospitals. Because of the extreme fire conditions in many parts of the state, Florida Gov. Rick Scott declared a state of emergency on June 13.
Tuesday- Today I read about a guy that killed four people. I also read about how the cops are looking for him. This guy killed these people by shooting them to death inside a pharmacy. The pharmacy that the shooting took place in was located in Long Island New York. This guy was caught on the surveillance tape of the pharmacy. The police described the man as a a thin man about 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was unshaven or had a dark beard and mustache along with short, dark hair. He was wearing a white baseball hat, sunglasses, a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and dark shoes along with a black back pack.

Monday- Today I read about trail about Amanda Knox. She was convicted for murdering her roommate, she got 26 years. Knox and her Italian former boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, are charged with murder and sexual violence in the November 2007 knifing death of Meredith Kercher. Knox and Kercher, a British exchange student, were roommates. A third suspect was found guilty in a separate trial and is appealing. Knox and Sollecito were arrested shortly after the November 2007 slaying. Knox previously testified in June, when she said she was not home at the time of the slaying. Prosecutors say Kercher died during a twisted sex game in which Knox taunted Kercher while Sollecito and acquaintance Rudy Guede sexually assaulted her. The prosecution says a knife found in Sollecito's house had Knox's DNA on the handle and Kercher's on the blade, among other pieces of evidence.
Tuesday- Today I read about the Casey Anthony case. Apparently Caylee Anthony’s remains could have been at the site where they were discovered for as little as two weeks, based on plant evidence found there. Jane Bock, a soft-spoken, grandmotherly woman, said she believed the root growth found in the "hair mass" and the skeleton could have accumulated in two weeks. But during cross-examination by prosecutor Jeff Ashton, she seemed less sure about the skeleton, saying she had only studied root growth on skeletons that had been in place for years. Vegetation in and on Casey Anthony's car did not match that at remains site. Anthony averts her gaze as a photo of her daughter's skull is shown.

He was unshaven or had a dark beard and mustache along with short, dark hair. Police said the suspect should be considered "armed and extremely dangerous."
Wednesday- Today I read about the on going case of Casey Anthony. She murdered her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Anthony. She duct taped her nose and mouth and put her in a trash bag in the trunk of her car. At first she was saying she didn't know where her daughter was and she was saying that her nanny had her. But soon after she made up a story saying she drowned in a pool. Now they are saying that Casey made up the story because she heard of that happening to somebody else so she said that to save herself.

The couple that fled were suspected of taking millions of dollars. They defrauded the city of New York of at least $400 million dollars. Their names are Reddy and Padma Allen. The couple were indicted in absentia Monday in a federal court in New York. "The corruption on the CityTime project was epic in duration, magnitude and scope. The couples ally pleaded guilty to fraud and accepting millions of dollars in bribes.

Mendez was the "principal head" of La Familia Michoacána cartel and said his capture was the federal government's "most overwhelming blow" to the group. "This capture destroys what remained of the leadership structure of this criminal organization," he said. Mexican President Felipe Calderon praised the capture on his official Twitter account: "A large blow by federal police to organized crime. One of the most wanted criminals was captured. Congratulations.“Tuesday's operation marks the fall of 21 of the suspects on Mexico's "most dangerous criminals" list, Poire said. Extorting residents and charging fees to drug traffickers operating in Michoacan allowed the cartel to push away competitors, Mexican authorities said.
Thursday- today I read about A dark chapter in Louisiana's history that will be revisited Wednesday as five current and former New Orleans officers go on trial and face charges of covering up shootings of civilians in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The case involves the infamous shootings on Danziger Bridge and the trial is scheduled to start Wednesday morning in federal court in New Orleans. The shootings occurred at the bridge on September 4, 2005, six days after Katrina slammed into the Gulf Coast.
Thursday- Today I read about the Casey Anthony case. Casey Anthony's parents do not believe she is innocent of charges she killed her 2-year-old daughter Caylee in 2008. An attorney representing George and Cindy Anthony issued a statement Thursday clarifying his remarks. Casey Anthony, is charged with seven counts in her daughter's death, including first-degree murder. If convicted, she could face the death penalty. Atlanta defense attorney Drew Findling said it is rare for this type of admission to take place in a death penalty trial. The jury in the case is sequestered without access to the Anthony family statements. Jurors in Anthony's trial heard more forensic testimony on Wednesday. One witness told jurors that chemical testing of air samples from the trunk of Anthony's car primarily showed the presence of gasoline.
Tuesday-Today I read about San Diego’s crime rate dropping to its lowest point since 1963. continuing a trend that began in 1990, San Diego again saw its crime rate fall in 2010. The rate was the lowest it has been in 47 years. All seven major crimes tracked were homicide, rape robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, theft and auto theft. Sanders said police used a variety of methods to prevent crime including six-month operation that took 47 gang members off the street. Officers in a pilot program hopped on bicycles in north park last fall to respond more quickly to incidents. Citizens filing more reports online and by phone also freed officers to work on more serious crimes.

She posted 10% of $25,000 bail on Tuesday and is required to wear an electronic monitoring bracelet, according to a Common Pleas Court spokes woma Ferguson is due back in court on Monday for a preliminary hearing, court officials said.
Thursday -Today I read about a girl in first grade, Christine started inexplicably gaining weight and suffered a violent seizure at home one evening, losing consciousness and convulsing. The ER doctors who treated her concluded that the seizure had been brought on by the 102-degree fever she'd been running, but Vicki suspected it wasn't that simple. When she looked closer, Vicki also noticed what appeared to be a small bruise or birthmark on the left side of her daughter's neck. That, too, seemed like nothing, but when the marks didn't go away after a couple of weeks, Vicki took Christine to the doctor. Christine will undergo a brief procedure to fine-tune the tissue in her jaw this summer, and she'll have to visit Dr. Siebert's office every five or six months after that. She has a scar that stretches from her underarm to her shoulder, an incision mark on her neck, and, three months after the surgery, her face is still a bit swollen. But she's going to school again and is starting to feel like she's returning to normal…
Thursday- today I read about a man accused in the shooting death of four people inside a pharmacy in New York will be arraigned Thursday on murder charges. Long Island resident David Laffer, 33, is accused of shooting two employees at Haven Drugs in Medford as well as two customers before leaving with prescription drugs Sunday morning. Mejia's death comes just before her graduation from Bellport High School on Thursday, said school secretary Maryann Malcolm.
thursday-
Today I read about This was the case for Jose de Jesus Mendez Vargas, the top leader of La Familia drug cartel, who was arrested Tuesday. You will be transported inside an armored federal police vehicle the size of a camper to an auditorium and sit there while a high-ranking official recites for reporters a list of your alleged crimes from a prepared statement. These officials read quickly, barely taking a breath as they list the first, middle and last names of all those accomplices who went down with you. Ages, too. A pack of reporters scribble down notes on the cash, drugs and weapons you had at the time of your arrest -- usually including grenades and assault rifles.
Friday- today I read about About a year after losing his dad in a plane crash, Matt Snoddy climbed into the cockpit for an emotional flight. His kids Charlie, age 5 and Alice, 3, were tucked in the back of the tiny Cessna and his flight instructor was seated alongside. Snoddy pulled back on the stick and they were airborne. A government investigation blamed the crash on Flight 191's pilots, who attempted takeoff from a wrong runway. The FAA administrator at the time said disasters like Flight 191 might be avoided under Next Gen, the nation's sweeping air traffic overhaul set to roll out by 2025. Memories of the crash had kept Snoddy -- a longtime private pilot -- out of the cockpit until his wife offered the flight as a gift for Father's Day. "She wanted me to take the kids up and to see if I wanted to keep flying." Snoddy and his father shared a love for flying -- Matt Snoddy as a pilot and his dad as a passenger. Tim Snoddy enjoyed flying so much he'd been talking about getting his pilots' license, too.
Friday- Today I read about the estate of the late actress Anna Nicole Smith has lost a Supreme Court appeal in a longstanding fight to secure a share of her deceased husband's fortune. The 5-4 ruling Thursday was the latest chapter in a tedious legal soap opera, over the kind of evidence a separate bankruptcy court may hear when deciding various claims and counterclaims. State courts generally hear probate cases, while bankruptcy proceedings are confined to federal courts. The high court's 38-page decision will now likely put an end to this particular legal dispute. J. Howard Marshall was married to the much younger Smith, who is named in court papers as Vickie Lynn Marshall, for 14 months before he died in 1995. His will left nearly all assets and trust to his son from a previous marriage, E. Pierce Marshall, and Smith received virtually nothing. She later sued, claiming her elderly husband promised to give her more than $300 million. The separate estate of Smith, who died more than three years ago, has been fighting for years to secure a share of the deceased Texas oilman's fortune
Friday- Today I read about two us citizens from planning to kill a numerous amount of Americans. These two citizens were from Los Angeles and from Seattle. They were both planning to kill a lot of people that were enlisting in the army forces in Seattle. The men were identified as Abu Khalid Abdul-Latif, (also known as Joseph Anthony Davis), 33, of Seattle; and Walli Mujahidh, (also known as Frederick Domingue Jr.) 32, of Los Angeles. "Driven by a violent extreme ideology, these two young Americans are charged with plotting to murder men and women who were enlisting in the armed forces to serve and protect our country," said a top counter-terrorism official at the Justice Department.
Friday-today I read the House of Representatives is expected to officially register its disapproval of U.S. involvement in the NATO-led Libya campaign Friday, voting to restrict funding for America's role in the mission. House members are also expected to vote down a resolution expressing support for the war. The resolution is similar to a measure introduced in the Senate by Sen. John Kerry, D-Massachusetts, and Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona. “This is a fight between the president and the congress over the unwillingness to conduct with us before making this decision” the speaker said. In a resent report of the mission, the administrator said the cost of the military and humanitarian operation through June was about $800 million. It is estimated that by the end of September 30 would be 1.1 billion.
