Today I read about pot. There was more than a ton of pot seized yesterday in two separate incidents. Authorities arrested several people during two smuggling attempts. One in Pine Valley and the others in Imperial Beach. The first bust occurred at about 2am. The second arrest occurred at about 4:30 am at the Pine Valley checkpoint a man had tried to smuggle 2,400 pounds of pot.
Interesting Facts- The street value is worth about 1.4 million.
My Opinion- I think that is a lot of weed and I would have been mad if that was me that got caught. That suck for the people that got caught they will probably go to prison.
In today’s paper I read about how the World Health Organization yesterday raised its alert level for swine flu, ATRRIBUTING to the title of pandemic. It is the first flu pandemic declared by the WHO since 1968, when the Hong Kong flu broke out and TECHNICALLY killed about a million people world wide. The disease was first reported two months ago in San Diego County, and county health officials have since confirmed 249 infections. The swine flu strain is not considered ACCESSIBLY deadly, however it does have the potential to spread worldwide. In another story, authorities confiscated more than a ton of marijuana and made several arrests during smuggling attempts in Pine Valley and Imperial Beach. The first bust occurred around 2 a.m., when the sheriff’s deputies spotted three men wearing jackets who had signaled another man ashore at the foot of Sea Coast Drive in Imperial Beach hiding in some rocks. The men had four duffel bags filled with 200 pounds of marijuana. About 4:30 a.m., a 48-year-old man was arrested at the U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint on Interstate 8 in Pine Valley after about 2,400 pounds of pot were seized in the back of a semi. The street value was estimated to be somewhere in the $1.4 million range. In another story, Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers are one step with closer to the NBA title, after a decisive win in Orlando. While many played exceptionally well on the night, most of the credit can be given to Derek Fisher who scored a crucial three-pointer less than a minute before the game’s end, and another in overtime. Bryant finished strong as well, scoring 32 points on the night, and accumulating eight assists and seven rebounds. As for the Magic, the loss at home was a huge blow to their come-from-behind title challenge. Unless they can force a Game 6, the Magic will remember this as another Finals game that got away. In my opinion, the swine flu is not as big of a deal as people are making it out to be. Yes, there are many cases, but we are moving closer and closer to a vaccine and the disease has not proven itself to be particularly deadly. The marijuana busts were good in the sense that quite a bit of weed was taken off the street, but for officials it is just another day. There is tens times that amount of pot crossing borders at this very moment. As for the Lakers, the title is theirs’ to lose.
In today Blog, The San Diego Del Mar Fair ground begins its 22-day run. People have ACCESS to many fun games, food, and other activity. The fair trying to ATTRIBUTE great prices, so people keep coming back to the fair. Most fair foods are fried, a quick and aromatic cooking TECHNIQUE. The Del Mar fair has exciting meal and treats for everyone.
