Monday- Today I read about 5 Juvenile detainees reporting staff molestation. County probation officials are going over how they can better protect juveniles in custody after five boys at the East mesa Juvenile Detention Facility reported in a national survey that they had been sexually victimized by a jail staff member. The boys at East Mesa are there doing a longer time I believe there time should be shorter because of these incidents. Nation Wide 10 percent of the youth reported an incident involving staff, and 95 percent said the incident was with a female staffer. In the past year, three female staff have been investigated for alleged sexual misconduct with boys at East Mesa. Out of the three two of the staff resigned prior to us completing the investigation and the third allegation was un-founded. The three cases were brought to the attention of officials by other staff members, not detainees.

In today's reading I read about County probation officials are reviewing how they can better protect juveniles in custody after five boys at the East Mesa juvenile Detention Facility RESPONDED in a national survey that they had been sexually victimized by a jail staff member. Of the 36 boys surveyed at East Mesa, a boys-only facility in east Otay Mesa, 14 percent said that they had been the victim of sexual misconduct by a staff member in the past year. The roughly 230 boys housed at East Mesa are in the PROCESS of serving longer sentences. Nationwide, 10 percent of the youth reported an incident that ASSUMED staff, and 95 percent said the incident was with a female staff.

In today’s news five juvenile detainees reported on a staff molestation. The County Probation facility are reviewing on how they can better protect the juveniles after five boys reported on a molestation by a staff member. It was ASSUMED that out of 36 boys surveyed at the East Mesa facility in East Mesa 14% had been a victim of sexual misconduct by a staff member. The 230 boys housed at East Mesa are generally serving longer sentences. In Kearney Mesa there is a PROCESS on what the sentence is going to be and were they will be sent, was not in the survey. Almost 9,200 children in 195 Juvenile facilities that are part of the Prison Rape Elimination Program were surveyed. Nation Wide the Children RESPONDED that 10% reported an incident including a staff member, and 95% of those 10% said a female staffer was involved. Most kids don want to tell thinking that the situation will get worse or that they wont believe them.
I don’t think kids should serve a long time for there crimes. I also think that they should be believed when there is an incident. I also think that the Molesters should be found and arrested.

Today I read about a painting by Picasso that will go under repairs. The painting will go under repairs because a visitor accidently hit it. The painting was at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The museum has over 250 works made by Picasso. The lady who messed up the painting made about a a 6 inch lower right hand corner of “The Actor”. Luckily the damage didn’t affect the focal point. The canvas was 6 by 4 foot canvas.
I think that they should have the painting in a huge glass or clear thick plastic box. I think this would be a good idea, because you can still see the painting, but can’t mess it up. I also wonder if this lady is being fined, or has to pay any charges, and how much it would be

This morning I read a story about a drunk man who walked into traffic. The man stepped out between two parked cars into traffic around 9:30pm on Saturday night on Federal Blvd. and Euclid Ave. The man was taken to a hospital with serious head injuries. The man was hit by a Jaguar driven by a man in his 30’s. i think that you shouldn’t walk into traffic especially if you are drunk. You can’t just walk in the middle of the street and ASSUME the cars are going to stop for you. I think it probably took the cops a while to RESPOND because the cops always take forever.

Monday- today I read about the venom of a platypus. The venom is said to be quite dangerous because it causes cultured nerve cells to take up calcium ions slowly and continuously. This gives us the hint of how this venom acts. There were also a few comments said in this experiment to show how platypus are dangerous. One comment was said that only male platypus are the ones who carry this venom. Another was said that platypus are one of the only mammals known to carry venom. The last comment said was that the platypus male carries poisonous spurs on its rear legs and when touched they sting what ever touches them. There was also a comment said that there is finally a platypus in Australia.
This was a very educational story and it taught me a lot. The thing I found weird was that there are still platypus living some where on earth. The other thing is my guess is the male is the only one with venom because the venom might effect the female while impregnated.
I learned that platypus are real and still live on this earth.

In today’s news I read about drivers of commercial trucks and buses will be prohibited from texting under federal guidelines that U.S. Transportation Secretary. The prohibition is effective immediately. Truck and bus drivers who text while driving commercial vehicles may be subject to civil or criminal penalties of up to $2,750. The release did not offer specifics on how the prohibition will be enforced. Cracking down on distracted drivers has been a focus of LaHood's since he took office last year. In September, he convened a two-day summit on the issue in Washington. The Transportation Department recently launched the Web site distraction.gov to raise awareness of the dangers of distracted driving. Nineteen states, plus the District of Columbia and Guam, have passed laws banning texting while driving. Six states, plus the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands, ban the use of handheld devices while driving. Nearly 6,000 people died in 2008 in crashes involving a distracted or inattentive driver, and more than 500,000 were injured, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Eighty percent of crashes are related to driver inattention, according to a Virginia Tech study, and drivers who use handheld devices are four times as likely to get into crashes serious enough to injure themselves.

Today I read about a lab technician charged with killing a Yale graduate student pleaded not guilty Tuesday during a court hearing in New Haven, Connecticut, his attorney said. Raymond Clark III is charged with murder in the death of Annie Le. Her body was found inside a wall of a Yale lab building on September 12 -- the day she was to be married. She had been strangled, the Connecticut medical examiner's office determined. Clark also waived his right to a probable cause hearing, said his lawyer, Joe Lopez. The next pretrial hearing was set for March 3. Clark is being held in lieu of $3 million bail. Clark is not a Yale student, but has worked as a lab technician at the university since 2004. He lived with his girlfriend, who also is a Yale lab technician, according to New Haven police. A Yale faculty member described Clark's job as maintaining colonies for animals used in research. The lab is in the basement of the building where Le's body was found.

In today’s news a car bomb kills 18 people in an explosion. At least 18 people have died and 80 were injured when a terrorist attack the streets of Baghdad. It was ASSUMED that the blast was caused by a Suicide bomber trying to attack an important U.S Base in Baghdad. There were Many Bombing’s in Iraq these last months and it might affect the Iraqi National Election on March 7. The Iraqi candidates both banned participation in terrorism because they also don’t want to be in the PROCESS into being like Saddam Hussein. The Bombings that were going on in Iraq RESPONDED to the execution of Hussein's cousin the Notorious Henchmen Ali Hassan Al-Majeed. The U.S Embassy in Baghdad Stated that the Terrorist will try to divide and confuse the Iraqi people, but they don’t think that they will let that happen.
I think its horrible that Many People in Iraq are dying of terrorist attacks. I also don’t think that the Iraqi people will let the terrorist affect them. The elections are continuing and maybe more attacks will occur.

In today’s news I read about a man accused of attempting to open an airplane’s exterior door while in flight has been released after investigators determined it wasn’t a terrorist matter. The incident occur Saturday on a United Airlines jetliner en route from Washington D.C., to Las Vegas. The plane, in which had more than 100 people aboard, was diverted to Denver International Airport. FBI spokeswoman Kathy Wright said a passenger tried opening one of the front doors of the airplane before passengers restrained him. The man, who was not identified, was taken into custody, questioned and released for a medical evaluation. Authorities will decide on charges after reviewing the incident.

This morning I read an article about a truck trying to cross the border with 708 pounds of marijuana hidden in a load of fish. A 34-year-old Ensenada man drove a Bobtail truck through the port of entry with a cargo of fish about 7:30 p.m. The PROCESS of fining the pot included Customs and Border patrol to an x-ray of the cargo. They RESPONDED by arresting the driver, a 34 year old man from Ensenada. Officers found 29 wrapped packages of marijuana valued at $424,500. I'm ASSUMING that the customs and border patrol were happy about the bust.

In today’s news I read about Paraguay international Salvador Cabanas is in a critical condition after being shot in the head in Mexico City. The 29-year-old Club America striker was taken to a hospital intensive care unit following the incident on Sunday night. They don't know the motive behind the injury. He was shot from a firearm with a frontal entry point and without exit. Cabanas is one of Paraguay's most highly-rated players and was part of their World Cup squad in Germany. He has scored more than 100 times in the Mexican top-flight and has netted 18 goals in 24 matches this season. He was having surgery, they believe the attack was unprovoked. He arrived conscious and responded well to the questions they asked him as he was going into hospital.

Portillo, who also is in the process of charges in Guatemala and was out on bond at the time of the announcement of his U.S. indictment, was arrested after authorities were tipped to his location. Prosecutors allege the money-laundering took place through at least 2006. Portillo was president of Guatemala from 2000 to 2004. Authorities in Guatemala started searching for him after the United States requested his extradition.

Wednesday-Today I read about a man that survived using a phone app. He was alone in the darkness and remembered that he had a phone app for his situation. He felt blood streaming from his head and leg so he went to the app when he remembered. He said
"I had an app that had pre-downloaded all this information about treating wounds. So I looked up excessive bleeding and I looked up compound fracture,“
The application on his iPhone is filled with information about first aid and CPR from the American Heart Association. He was trapped in the ruins of the hotel Montana in Port-au-Prince, he used his shirt to bandage his leg, and tied his belt around the wound to stop the bleeding on his head. Then he firmly kept a sock to it. If he didn’t have the application he probably would not have survived this ordeal.

The Hobbses were separated, but apparently Tonya Hobbs was visiting Lester Hobbs in an attempt to reconcile, Goss said. The couple had been together for about five years. The Comanche County, Oklahoma, Sheriff's Office said Aja has a medical condition that requires medication. Goss said Lester Hobbs has an extensive criminal history, but did not elaborate. The sheriff's office said he had prior felony convictions. Lester Hobbs was supposed to appear in court in Lincoln County, Oklahoma, on a DUI charge, Goss said, and did not appear, so a warrant has been issued for him. Aja's biological father was awarded emergency custody of her in November, according to Oklahoma County District Court documents obtained by CNN affiliate KWTV of Oklahoma City. At a hearing, Tonya Hobbs -- identified as Tonya Dunkin in the documents -- and the girl's father, John Johnson, agreed that she would have supervised visitation with Aja and keep the girl away from Lester Hobbs, the documents said. Aja is 4 feet tall and weighs 59 pounds, Goss said. She has brown eyes, and her hair is brown with the ends dyed black. Lester Hobbs is about 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair, according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. The agency released a picture of him and said he has a mustache but no longer has a goatee. Geronimo is about 12 miles south of Lawton, Oklahoma, in the south-central part of the state.

In today’s news a Mudslide in Machu Picchu traps hundreds of people. The Emergency crew in Peru are trying to save hundreds of stranded tourist in the Ruins of Machu Picchu. The PROCESS of the stranded tourist started when heavy rain fell over Peru which made mudslides and delayed airports. Its said that about 10,000 people have been affected by the rain, 2,000 homes destroyed and at least seven dead in the ruins of Machu Picchu. The U.S Embassy in Lima and the other countries RESPONDED to these bad events by trying to open ways to reach Machu Picchu and the save the Peruvian people. Many bridges have been destroyed, collapsed or underwater and many roads have been closed. It was ASSUMED that an Estimate of 700-800 tourist can be found in eight hours. Machu Picchu is an ancient Incan city standing nearly 8,000 feet from sea level, which is also known as the lost city of the Incan’s.
Its horrible that so many people are trapped in the mudslide. I don’t know if the rain will clear up so they may be saved. I think this is one of the worst disasters in the history of Peru since the defeat of the Incans.

This morning I read about some girls from Ohio that robbed a bank. The two girls walked up to the bank teller and gave her a note demanding money. The teller RESPONDED by giving them an uncertain amount of money. What is weird about the girl is that on of them is believed to be just 12 years old. There are grainy black and white pictures of the two girls. The girls also did not try to cover their identity. They have not found out who these girls are.
I wonder if the girls had a gun, because if they did not the bank teller should not have given them money. I think back should have securities at the doors now with metal detectors, like they already do in some bank in San Diego.
I ASSUME that basically anyone can get away with the PROCESS of robbing a bank if they have a gun.

This morning I read an article about a man in Ohio who punched a grocery store manager in the face multiple times and he also head butted him. The customer RESPONDED like this because of a mistake on the price of crab cakes. Police say the store made a mistake in the price of crab cakes and offered to sell the first pound at a discounted price but the rest at the correct price. The man also spit in the managers face. He told police that the manager hit him with a pricing gun, but witnesses said the manager didn’t fight back. I ASSUME that the man was on steroids and that this is a classic case of “roid rage” or maybe he was on meth.

While reading the union tribune today, I ran across a article about dollar menu’s. In the article the author talked about how the fast food industries make profit. Lots of fast food places sell food for a cheap price and they make a profit from it. An analyst states that the become a much bigger force buy putting cheap items on the menu. I agree because when I go to a fast food restaurant I order at least five things off the dollar menu. The restaurant keeps three dollars out of that that. If you think that’s low, fast food chains like Del Taco sell soft tacos for 59 cent. Its so cheap and still profitable.

She was killed yesterday in a head-on crash with a wrong way driver on a two lane stretch of the highway in Lakeside. Her white Chevrolet Astro van collided with an Oldsmobile 98 heading north in the southbound lane about 2 miles north of Willow Road and she died at the spot. The driver of the maroon Oldsmobile, John Hallaway, 51, of Las Vegas, suffered major injuries and was taken by helicopter to a trauma center. Hallaway told medics he doesn’t remember what happened, he thought he fell asleep. This accident happened around 2:30 p.m. Witnesses said that Oldsmobile drifted over the yellow line and was traveling north in the southbound lane for about a quarter of a mile. The driver was swerving in the high way that almost hit the car on his way. The van came to a rest o n a muddy embankment facing east on the West Side of the road way.

Tuesday- Today I read about the closing down of medical marijuana dispensaries. There is about eighty percent of medical marijuana dispensaries in L.A that will be shutting down. This act is by the community people that do not want that many dispensaries for their kids to live in. The city council were the ones who approved the decreasing of so many dispensaries. This is a patriotic act that will help the population become less addicted to Marijuana. There will be some new dispensaries that are going to be run by the government and will have many restrictions. This is another way for the government to do something that they never approved in the first place. There is also going to be a lot of cracking down on drug dealers using dispensaries as a cover up.
This is a sad article not for me but for all the L.A. potheads because they are going to be limited as for buying medical marijuana. The government is using this excuse to make more money and tear down the community with addicts. There should be a law that says the government should not be able to get involved in these type of situations.
I learned that the government is doing all they can to bring us the people down.

Wednesday- Today I read about Obama saying that he promised so many things and yet has not done anything. There should be a lot of people mad at him that is why his American’s that gave him a thumbs up have dropped from 74 percent to 56 percent. There are many people waiting for the president to give more jobs and other things he promised but he has not responded to any of them. The president seems to be in a difficult spot and even congress dose not want to help out. Obama spoke and said that there were about 7 million jobs that have been lost since the recession began two years ago. The president seems to have been trying hard as he travels form state to state to make things better by speaking. The thing is he just speaks what the people want to hear.
This is a sad story because it seems as if the president is not doing a good job. There should be a new president that says all the secrets about the government. This is a free country and there should be no president at all this should be run by the people.
I learned that constitution is all bull crap and the people do not have the right that we are supposed to have.

Thursday- today I read about a woman in Julian died with a head on crash with another person. It was said that the person who crashed the woman was driving on the wrong side of the road. There was something on that highway that day that is usually seen every day. There were flashing highway patrol lights and a lot of traffic. This accident was reported around 2:30 PM. It was also said that by the time the paramedics arrived the woman was already dead. The other driver was seriously injured and was taken by helicopter to a trauma center. The story read that the driver was driving on the opposite side of the road for about a quarter of a mile. They also had said that many other vehicles were able to swerve out of the way of the vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road.

Their attorney said the company agreed to pay $500,000 to an estimated 150 Californians to settle the class-action lawsuit, in addition to $1.5 million in court and attorney fees. I think that the company was out of line for thinking that they should have two separate Web sites. They shouldn’t ASSUME that people are just gay or straight, what about their bi-sexual customers. I don’t thin that is fair. They should have one Web site and it should be for everyone. I think that this settlement was a long PROCESS.

Friday- Today I read about how the economy is so low. The thing I don’t understand is how is the economy low on money. The thing is why cant they just make new money and more. There are many jobs being lost but I think its because the money is all going to keeping people out of the U.S. The government should stop paying so much to have border patrol agents and have money for other government jobs. They are also always crying about how people are selling drugs and stealing money I think it’s their fault. The reason is because they cut so many jobs out and waste money on war and yet people loose. The people loose money because of high taxes, people loose jobs because government dose not have the money to pay all of them. Their should be no more government and let random people who are intelligent be the government. This country is not based on how people choose its always on how they want it to be.
This article was really just talking about how the economy is so low but since the company is run by the government they didn’t blame anyone but the economy. There should be a new start in government because they just want the government affiliated people to succeed. I hope it actually happens and if not I’m out of here this country sucks.
I learned that the government is all a bunch of white people that hide themselves to achieve what they are really planning on doing with the U.S.

Today I read about how paleontologist found dinosaur bones in China. The answer to why dinosaur dies might be in inside a 980 food long ravine in the Chinese country side. The fossils, more than 15,000 fractured, were from about 65 million years ago, in the late Cretaceous period. This time was right before they were extinct. This excavation is believed to be the largest dinosaur fossil site. Scientist also figured out that dinosaur have a close relationship to birds because of the feathery fuzz found on some of the dinosaur bones. The weird thing is also that there was so many different types of dinosaurs in the ravine they found. They may have all been together because they were trying to escape their death.
I think that this is very interesting because of all the bones found. I also think that if something killed the dinosaurs because of probably climate changes or a meteor, that humans will die also.
I learned that they are thinking of making an amusement park with all the dinosaur bones they found.

Today I read about a woman who has been shoplifting for 5 decades. She goes by the name Doris Payne. Halle Berry is starring in a movie about Doris. Doris was arrested on Friday for trying to steal a Burberry coat from Saks Fifth Avenue store. Doris was always well dressed when she stole. She would walk into a store and begin trying on diamond rings after ring. She would then confuse they clerk and would take a ring and slip out. She would even sometimes even leave with the stolen ring on her finger. The Jewelers Security Alliance sent out bulletins in 1970’s warning about her. Doris said her criminal career began when she was 23 and walked out of a store with a 22,000 ring. Doris has served time in jail in a several places. Doris is still pleading guilty.

In today’s news the U.S announced that it will avoid giving economical aid to the Haitian government. The U.S government announced that not even a penny of the Hope for Haiti fund will go to the Haitian rulers. It is ASSUMED that $379 million has went to the Haiti Earthquake relief fund and approximately $1.25 from each U.S Citizen. Each of the money that is transferred goes to the disaster assistance, U.S military aid, food, transportation of supplies, and for the recovery of the survivors. The PROCESS will take some time for Haiti to recover, but they will still try to keep the country together. The Haitian government acknowledged that the Government wont earn any money from the Earthquake fund and that all of it will go to the country. The world RESPONDED to the Earthquake in Haiti by sending millions of dollars to the Earthquake relief fund. Today the French rescuers have pulled a 17 year old girl form the rubble near a destroyed college.
The Earthquake in Haiti is horrible and killed many people. I also don’t think the Government should get as much money. I don’t think every American citizen has donated to the Haiti Relief fund.

Many organizations RESPONDED to the massive rain by sending search teams to look for missing people in California and Baja California. The members of the Desert angels have tried to search and found a dead body and commented ” at first I thought it a doll and wasn’t real until I found it was a dead body and broke my heart”. It was ASSUMED that three children of the same family have been washed away, the parents lived but the discovered children were found dead. The body of the oldest daughter was found on January 20, and the boys body was found yesterday near a mound trash. The groups are trying to speed up there work PROCESS to discover more people.
The major rain is horrible since many people died. I think that its better now that the rain stopped. The groups will continue to search for the other bodies.
