Monday- Today I read about The top Republican in the House and a senior White House adviser on Sunday debated a plan for closing the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay and moving some of the terrorism suspects held there onto American soil. They want $500 million from this Congress to rehabilitate this prison in northwest Illinois, I want to see who the members are who are going to vote for this. I wouldn't vote for this if you put a gun to my head. Two months past President Obama's self-imposed deadline for closing Guantanamo, the facility remains open as details of where to house the suspects are being worked out. The Obama administration wants to buy and prepare the idle prison in Thomson, Illinois, to house many of the remaining Guantanamo detainees, who number about 190. Several lawmakers in the House and Senate have vowed to block the funds. I also read about $1 million a day is expected to be spent on health care television ads this week, as interest groups work overtime to try to influence Congress before the House votes on President Obama's top domestic priority. Health care commercials all but vanished from the airwaves in late January after Republicans scored an upset victory in the Massachusetts special election to replace the late Sen. Edward Kennedy.
Monday-I read the article about forensic scientists who are looking for more answers about the two bodies found in north county. It gave a step process of what occurs when a body is discovered. First step is securing the area that the body is discovered in. Second in the area of investigation, investigators gather evidence such as clothing, hair and other foliage. If remains are found depending on whats left of the body an autopsy is performed. Autopsies are more complex when there is little or no soft tissue compared to when there is. During the autopsy the remains bones are then studied. Examiner’s then determine if the cause of death was accidental or intentional. An autopsy can take from an hour to several.

In today’s news I read about a police across Europe arrested 69 suspected members of a Georgian-run mafia, including 24 in Spain, who was the leader of the investigation. There were other arrests in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and those who prosecutors worked with their Spanish counterparts on the case. There were also a few arrests in France and Italy. The suspects are wanted for drug trafficking, extortion and money laundering, and in few cases for murder plots, were thought to have operated at a level close to the street, controlling local mafia networks, they are not thought to be high-style mafia kingpins living in mansions and surrounded by luxuries. In Spain, the police worked with regional police in Catalonia and the Basque region to make the arrests, mainly in the Barcelona and Valencia areas. There has long been speculation that mafias were involved in money laundering through Spain's housing and real estate bubble along the Mediterranean coast, where second homes were built for vacationers from Spain and northern Europe

In today's paper I read an article about the wars wounded. The union tribune took pictures of him as he tried out his new leg. Army Sgt. Daniel Biskey lost his leg when walking over a landmine in November. The contrast of thing was bad because people weren't aware of this problem. They persuaded him to use the new and improved prosthetic leg. The army veteran works out daily to get his self back in shape, up and walking. Wounded troops car is growing as the nation becomes more aware. Awareness beings immediate help to a problem. If I were to critique the leg I would say its fine. Gives them a second chance at walking.
Monday- Today I read about how an immigration agent received 2.2 million dollars for injuries he suffered that were caused by Chula vista police while the agent was working on an undercover surveillance job because of his injuries he needed surgery and because he was unable to work he was set to desk duty the reason he was compensated so gradually was because Lopez's supervisor had told a Chula vista dispatcher about the undercover operation, the undercover operation task was to uncover a human smuggling ring

This morning I read a story about a northern Mississippi high school canceling the prom because a lesbian student asked to bring her girlfriend. Her girlfriend is also a student there. A school board statement Monday announced the district wouldn’t host the April 2 prom at Itawamba County Agricultural high school in Fulton. I think that this story is crap and I dont see why she couldn’t go with her girlfriend. People shouldn’t CRITIQUE other people based on their sexual preference.
Monday- Today I read about a killing at a topless bar in North Park. On Sunday around nine forty P.M the police received a call to head on over to the bar. When they arrived they found a forty two year old man dead in the parking lot. The man died from being shot a few times in the groin. After the police investigated and are still looking for their suspected killer or maybe killers. They caught one of the four suspects a few blocks away and are charging him with assault with a deadly weapon. The man that was caught was not the murderer though but he did conflict in that situation. He was known to have thrown a bottle at someone and is now being charged.
This was a good article the thing is that the police let the killer go. The whole conflict shows me that there was a lot of alcohol involved in this situation. I hope the killers get caught because everyone else does too.
I learned that the cops wont always get their suspects.

In today’s news, a 9-year old boy was injured when he was hit by a pickup in front of a fast-food restaurant yesterday. The boy was flown by helicopter to Rady Children’s Hospital and was being treated for serious head injuries. He was his by the truck about 2:45 p.m. as he ran west across South Rancho Santa Fe Road near Descanso Avenue. In CONTRAST, the driver of the truck stayed at the scene after hitting the child PERSUADING authorities it was not his fault., authorities are asking witnesses to call their CRITIQUE hotline.
Tuesday- Today I read an article about a twelve year old boy. The boy is said to now be serving life in prison. The reason is that he was charged with murder and was the only suspect. It was said that he shot his father’s fiancĂ© in the back of the head. He then picked up the gunshot shell and through it out in the woods. If this kid is convicted he will be the youngest child ever to be serving life in prison. The father was really sad about what had happened and yet he still is on his son’s side. The victim’s mother is also devastated but she will never forgive the boy.
This was a sad article because the boy killed his pregnant stepmom. The dad in the video I watched seemed as if he were not that sad about his fiancé being gone. I think that the dad told the son to do it and the son listened and went on with it.
I learned that there are crazy people who will do anything to stay happy but will end up worst.

In today’s news I read about a pair of earthquakes rattled coastal Chile overnight. A strong 6.7-magnitude quake hit at 11:22 p.m. Monday, and a moderate 5.5-magnitude quake followed at 12:05 a.m. Tuesday. There were no immediate reports of injuries or significant damage. Both quakes were centered 35 to 45 miles north of Concepcion, which was heavily damaged by a massive 8.8-magnitude earthquake on February 27. Aftershocks have continued to rock Chile at least seven of magnitude 5.0 or above since Sunday.
Tuesday- Today I read about a 17-year-old African teenager. He bobs his head to rapper Jay-Z, plays video games and reads the Twilight vampire books. When he's not doing homework, he kicks a soccer ball in his backyard. Yet looks can be deceiving. People in this corner of western Uganda know the young man as King Oyo, one of the world's youngest ruling monarchs. The teen king rules over more than 2 million people in the Tooro kingdom, one of four kingdoms in Uganda that conjure images of pre-colonial Africa. King Oyo lives for part of the year in a palace perched on a hill in Fort Portal, a place where bicycles stacked with bananas race past ramshackle huts in the shadow of a snow-capped mountain. He also has a palace in the bustling Ugandan capital, Kampala, where he studies at a private school while soldiers stand guard. Friends at school greet him with hugs and handshakes, but back home, subjects kiss his feet while laid out on front of him on the ground.

In today’s paper I read an article about the sex offender gardener, Now that this man was accused of Raping and Murdering Chelsea King. Chelsea went missing February 25, and was found two Saturdays ago. Now that they have Gardener in custody they keep pulling stuff out of his closet. Seems that they just seized a car in which he tried to persuade a young girl to get in with a gun. The girl ran and wasn’t harmed, and he took the car to the junk yard. The contrast of things got worse when they found out he should have been arrested a long time ago because of parole violations. If I were to critique the authorities work, I would say that there horrible. They arrest people like me for no apparent reason, when there's people like him running the streets.
Tuesday-
In the newspaper I read more about the case of the killing of Chelsea King. It says that Garner was a parole violator. Also I read about some churches who were mounting AIDS campaign. They were even providing free HIV/AIDS screening. They prayed that who ever is infected would get tested so that this disease would not spread. Nearly 200 high risk people got tested this past weekend. It is an estimated about 40 churches who are involved in this movement for educating people of sexually transmitted disease. It says that most people would not want to know if they acquired the disease because of fear that they will be labeled.
Today I read about how Escondido students seek tougher sex predator laws. Escondido high school students will launch a petition drive to enforce laws that regulate against sexual predators . The reason for this is because a fellow school mate of them was slain her name is Amber Dubois she disappeared Feb. 13 on her way to school her body was found near Pala on Saturday . Senior vice class president says people are afraid to walk to school, to enforce this they need to collect 6,000 signatures by the end of the month. The student started their campaign last Wednesday, they wore shirts saying “we are not worth protecting” hoping to make a change.
Facing rising waters, Red River communities in Minnesota and North Dakota raced to shore up levees and dikes early Tuesday, officials said. A sudden snow melt combined with heavy rains was expected to push the river above flood stage. They thought we had a couple more weeks but the weather quickly thawed they snow and the rains they had recently made it more difficult for them. Forecasters predict the river will crest at 38 feet which is in CONTRAST 3 feet below the record of 41 feet, set last year. More than 200,000 were PERSUADED to be remained without power in the Northeast after rain and hurricane-force winds whipped the region over the weekend. At least seven deaths were due to the storm, five caused by falling trees.

In today's news I read about a man who was found shot in the parking lot of Tens Show club died at a hospital last night. The people called police like around 9:40 p.m. to the strip club at the corner of Ohio Street and El Cajon Boulevard to break up a fight. The employees of the club said that three of four man were fighting inside already. When employees tried to break it up, several guns were shot and fired inside already. An employee also got hit a drinking glass on the face but it wasn’t seriously hurt. The gunman left before officers arrived. The 41 year old man was alter found in the back parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds in the groin area. His identity is being withheld until his family can be notified. So if you guys know anything bout this incident please contact 1-800-crimestoppers. Or visit crimestoppers.com. Thank You .

In todays paper I read an article about gardener trying to rape another girl. As the days go by the contrast of things get worse. Many other people that Gardener sex offended are coming forward now. A local jogger says on “ Larry King Live” says Gardener tackled her to the ground. The women started to scream as gardener persuaded her to shut up. The women told him hes going to have to kill him first. He told her “That can be arranged.” They argued over the issue as the law tries to critique what really happened. Witnesses say that he asked her for money, shes say that he was trying to rape her.

Today in the newspaper I read about the Navy SEALS. It talked about some of the sports they play to condition themselves. Some of the sports include swimming, water polo, boxing, triathlon, and wrestling. Some of the requirements necessary in order to become a Navy SEAL is: Physically weigh at least 162 lbs be at least 5’8 be at least 22 with a bachelor’s degree. The Navy SEALS are know for there expertise in the water, on land, and the air. Every year recruiters have a certain amount of SEALS they are to recruit. Two out of the last four years they have not met that goal. To fill the gap they need to fill recruiters focus on sports teams of a couple of universities.
Today I read about how a man died at a shooting during a fight at a nightclub. The man was found shot in the parking lot of tens show club which is located on Ohio street and el Cajon boulevard. Officers were called to the scene at about 9:40 pm to break up the fight. Employees say three to four men in their 20s were fighting inside causing a disturbance to the other customers, when the workers try to stop it several guns were pulled out and fired inside the club a worker was also hit in the face with a drinking glass but did not suffer any severe injuries. The gun men disappeared before the police could arrive that’s when 41 year old man was found dead in the parking lot with multiple shots to the groin area his identity is withheld until family is notified.
Wednesday- I read a really educational and interesting article today. The article was about six-hundred feet down below icy water. The article was stating that there is life in the weirdest place on earth. NASA concluded that there is a way that animals can evolve to fit in their environment. They found a small type of shrimp deep down in the ice of Antarctica. This discovery is a really big step in science and now there is more to figure out. The deep six hundred feet is a cold of negative degrees and there is absolutely no sunlight that goes in through to even the top of the water. There was a camera that did catch this creature on film.
This was a really cool article because this is a really good discovery. The findings of this could somehow give humans evidence about evolution. In my opinion there is probably new life forms hat have not yet been discovered in the same place.
I learned that evolution is becoming more clear for the human race to see.
Thursday- Today I read about The father of a 5-year-old British boy kidnapped by gunmen while on vacation in Pakistan said he was completely overjoyed at being reunited with his son after his two-week ordeal.Sahil is doing well, is in good spirits, and can't wait to return to the UK to see his mum, his family, and join his friends back at school, Raja Naqqash Saeed said in a statement. He also thanked authorities in Pakistan and the UK for their tireless efforts to free his son, and asked for the media to show restraint on their return to Britain, expected later Thursday.Sahil, a British citizen of Pakistani descent, was kidnapped by gunmen from his grandmother's house in Jhelum on March 3.

In today's news I read about an Authorities in Alaska are examining two wolves to see if they are the animals that killed a jogger last week. The two gray wolves were tracked down Monday and shot to death from a helicopter near the town of Chignik Lake, Alaska. The wolves are suspected of killing special-education teacher Candice Berner last week. Berner, 32, was attacked while jogging near the town. The wolves appeared to be the same ones that left tracks at the scene of the attack, and they matched witnesses' descriptions of the animals seen near Berner's body. The carcasses will also be examined to see whether the animals were rabid or starving, or suffering from some condition that led them to attack a human. The killing is thought to be only the second fatal wolf attack in North America in more a century. In 2005, a wolf pack killed a geology student in Saskatchewan, Canada. Wolves typically avoid human contact and do not threaten people, said John Blankenship, executive director of Wolf Haven. They are not human predators. It's healthy to have awareness of them, for sure. But to be afraid of them is too strong an emotion.
Thursday- I read an article that was about an owl. The thing is that the owl is only famous because it has five eggs in it’s nest. The owl is being watched from thousands on video. The owl is a big white farm owl that is really loved by the audience. There were some people that said they would take their kids for the feeding time. At the barn the owl is fed full on rabbits and so on. There was a mom who took her child and thought he was going to be a little disgusted but she said she loved it. The eggs also seem to be on the edge of hatching so more and more people are interested in watching.
This was a really interesting article because you never get to see nature in action like that. The people should leave the bird alone though and just video record the process. The reason is because I think that they are messing with nature.
I learned that nature is really amusing to the human species and any chance we get to see it in action we take it.
Today I read about 3 consul ties that were killed in Mexico. A u.s consul employee and her husband were killed as they drove in the violent boarders of the city of ciudad Juarez while their baby was in the back seat. Minutes after another consular employee was shot to death also he had his children with him they were left wounded . Security forces suspected it was a drug gang hit, but offered no motives. President Barack Obama expressed outrage over the killings an Mexican president Felipe Calderon, Calderon promised to have a swift investigation about the matter. The gun men are suspected to be hit men for the drug cartel of Juarez .this city is the deadliest city in the world with an average of 2,500 killings per year and 11 people die over the weekend.
Thursday
In today's paper I read another article about the sex offender John Gardener. The criminal record of this registered sex offender was released. The critique of his behavior in prison was read. First time going to prison was for molesting and beating a 13 year old. The didn’t say whether it was girl or a boy. In prison he was often in trouble for smoking, and having a lighter in his possession. The state contrasted him to other sex offenders but he seemed to be the weirdest. The quoted Gardener “ I don’t know this man, but I don’t want to be near him”. That explains why they think he is so different. To only be thirty years old, 282 pages of stuff on your record. I don’t know why they let him out I the first time. Accused of raping and murdering a teenage girl, trying to persuade a girl to get in his car, and molesting a 13 year old girl. Gardener was found not guilty in the death of Chelsea king.
In today’s news, a high on marijuana and drunk on whiskey dad put his 5-week-old son in the oven Sunday and left him there overnight. The oven door was slightly open, and the oven was not turned on. After smoking weed at the restaurant where he works as a cook, he returned home to share a fifth of whiskey with the baby's mother. She had four or five shots and went to bed while he finished the bottle. At 5:30 the next morning, he woke up to the baby's cries coming from the oven who had been in it for several hours. The baby was transported the infant to a local hospital and was found to be unharmed. Police arrested him and charged him with first degree wanton endangerment. He is being held on bail of $10,000. In contrast, he blamed his actions on the marijuana, which he was PERSUADED that it was laced with a hallucinatory agent, CRITIQUES say. Authorities have removed the baby from its mother's care and awarded emergency custody to members of her family.

In today’s news, Ten months after a multimillion-dollar Florida lottery winner was last seen, police said they feared for the worst. Truck driver Abraham Shakespeare won a $31 million Florida lottery prize in 2006. A year later, he won a court challenge from a fellow trucker who accused Shakespeare of snatching the winning ticket out of his wallet while the two were delivering meat to Miami restaurants. His family reported him missing on November 9, telling the Polk County sheriff's office they hadn't seen him since April. When Thanksgiving passed without word from the missing man, authorities raised the reward for information to $5,000. Investigators were PERSUADED and are looking closely at Dee Dee Moore, an associate of Shakespeare, calling her a person of interest in his disappearance. In CONTRAST, No charges have been filed. Detectives say Moore paid people thousands of dollars to report false sightings of the missing man. On one occasion, he said, Moore paid Shakespeare's cousin $5,000 to send the lotto winner's mother a birthday card purportedly signed by her son.

Friday- Today I read about A group of 31 suspected illegal immigrants walking up and down rocky ridges toward Tucson, Arizona. They're wearing small backpacks and stop to rest every few minutes. This isn't a scene unfolding before the eyes of Border Patrol agents on the ground. It comes from a video image provided by a Predator B unmanned aircraft 19,000 feet overhead. In fact, the nearest Border Patrol agents are far away. Jerry Kersey is the Customs and Border Protection agent in charge of this night's Predator mission. He and his two-man crew relay the information to Border Patrol agents from a small trailer 40 miles from the scene. I think that the border patrol should just leave them alone cause there going to keep coming no matter what.
Friday- Today I read about the prosecution of a man for a killing. The man was electrocuted after being charged with rape and murder. The suspect killed a six-teen year old girl and raped her four-teen year old sister. This is a case from 1999 and the man was barely executed a few days ago. The article also stated that the suspect actually would brag about the kill. This is one of the reasons this man found execution. The court finally had justice to this family after eleven years.
This was a really good article because someone finally died for his wrong doing. There should be more killings like this to get rid of people like the suspect. I think its disgusting how a guy can do that to a couple of really young girls.
I learned that there are freaks out there and they will do anything to get some.
Friday-
Today I read about how a lot of people in the state are not insured. It shows graphs and gives numbers of how many people used to be insured and to how many people are insured now. The numbers definitely went down. The last two years insurance went up 28 percent. It cost an estimated 1.5 million people their jobs and health coverage. Nearly one in four Americans do not have a health care plan. That’s about 8.2 million people that are 64 and under. People from ages 19-64 51.3% of which were employed all year with adequate insurance. While 29.5% were uninsured all or part of the year. There was a rally yesterday in downtown San Diego for congress to overhaul health care.

In today’s news I read about Tijuana's Avenida de la Revolucion, street vendor and sidewalk philosopher Juan Ramon Rocha who leaned on his coin and jewelry cart and waited. Some of the tourists from across the border never rushed into the streets of T.J., as it's often called because of the violence that be happening. Rocha made one sale, to a local resident, in an hour. The business, you can see for yourself, it went down 95 percent. Juan Ramon Rocha said that to please tell the Americans, it's safe to come here. We are all Americanos, North Americanos. Do you see any problems here. Visitors have been scared off because at least 18,000 people have been killed in Mexico since President Felipe Calderon dispatched the army to fight the drug cartels in December 2006. Fear of Tijuana's streets seeps deep into California.
friday
in today’s paper I read an article about the number of people without health insurance. The state contrasted the improvement between the last 2 years. In 2007 one in every five Californians had no health insurance. Last year the number went to one in every four. People protested this hoping to persuade them to get a health reform now. They expected the number to increase but not this much. The health insurance coverage in California is based on employment. Things just get worse, the economy is improving. But in some places like California we still have a lot to work on. The health reform is being pushed by the democrat as we speak. The republicans disagree with this bill because there haters.
Today I read about how six people broke into a house were medical marijuana was being grown. this accrued in a Seattle home in the suburbs this happened on Monday march 14. because of the shooting and a beating death linked to medical marijuana have prompted new calls by law enforcement officials and marijuana advocates for Washington state to change how it regulates the drug and protects those who grow and use it. One person was killed by 59 year old man named Steve Sarich while he was trying to obtain the marijuana another was injured because of a shotgun blast the other four were ok but they were arrested. He was targeted because of the large amounts of plants in his house and also 24 ounces of dried buds.
Friday-
In today’s news, A San Diego State University freshman whose body was found last month on the cliffs bellow Torrey Pines Gliderport died accidentally. The student lived in a dorm on campus and was majoring in graphic arts. Her body was spotted about 50 feet down a cliff by people who are walking on the beach. The student’s parents say that the student does not have a car and was not the type to go for a hike in the dark and desolate area along late at night. A backpack, a water bottle, and a flashlight were found near her body, in CONTRAST she was seen returning to her dorm that night. They were PERSUADED that the student was messing around with some friends and when she fell accidentally, they panicked and ran.
