MONDAY-- The Supreme Court denied the case for a Christian group. It is ruled against because the group is not accepting to everybody, unless they have the exact spiritual and marriage beliefs. This has sparked a bunch of controversy. As in the matter of public schools showing religion and private groups. This raised the topic of anti-discrimination policies and a private group's freedom of religion and association. According to the first amendment we are allowed freedom of speech, press, religion, petition, and assembly. They are trying to practice this right, but are doing it in a discriminative matter. Now all of the school groups and courts are battling for what they feel is allowed and not allowed. I think all people should be accepted anywhere they want to be. It is against the Christian religion to not accept somebody just because of how they look or dress or what they believe. It is the Christian way to follow what Jesus would have done, and that is to accept everybody. I think it is ridiculous that the group was trying to sue and trying to get the recognition they “deserved”.

In today's news I read about .S. border patrol agents Friday found a crude tunnel, apparently used for smuggling, underneath the concrete-lined Rio Grande River near El Paso, Texas. The discovery came as authorities were investigating suspicious activity in the city storm drain system and came upon a juvenile from Mexico with 200 pounds of marijuana."This is another example of smuggling organizations actively recruiting juveniles to smuggle narcotics and humans. "These organizations are exploiting the youth of Mexico and putting their lives in danger.“ Mexican authorities were called in to locate the tunnel entrance on the Mexican side.

This morning I read about a man from Oceanside who got arrested and is facing several charges. First of this man is facing 18 counts of child pornography and five counts of possession of child pornography. David Grummer is facing a minimum of five years and up to 20 years in prison for each. David is also facing 10 years in prison for each possession of child pornography charges. All of this started by an investigation of the Environmental Protection Agency. The agency was investigating the illegal sale of the chemical chlordane and the pesticide DDT on the Internet. David works with hazardous-waste recycling facility, and was selling banned chemicals over the internet.
I think that the story should have included the charges about David selling banned chemicals. I learned that anybody can be a sex offender now a days.

Monday- Today I read about Police in Chula Vista saying that a parolee with a history of drug abuse was arrested after she allegedly flew into a rage at a gas station and beat two women, one of whom went to the hospital. Lt. Fritz Reber says 31-year-old Felicia Speaks was putting air into the tires of a gray Cadillac when the women pulled into the station on Saturday. Reber says Speaks accused them of blocking her car, pushed and hit them, then drove away with her small child in the back seat but returned and attacked them with a 22-inch wooden dowel. Speaks also allegedly stole $100 from one woman's purse before fleeing. She was arrested at her home on suspicion of robbery and other crimes and remained jailed Monday on $100,000 bail. I think that this lady must be crazy if she did all of this in front oh her child.

monday- Gay pride was on display in towns and cities across the United States Sunday as gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people -- and their supporters -- marched in parades large and small to demand equality, oppose discrimination and express pride in who they are.
In New York, the parade featured participants of every age and many backgrounds. Some dressed conservatively, others were decked out in glittering fabrics and some wore next to nothing at all. The gay pride parade in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is considered one of the biggest events in the state -- last year's parade drew more than half a million people, according to CNN affiliate KARE. The grand marshal of the parade was 10-year-old Will Phillips, who made headlines by refusing to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance at his school. He said his reasoning was that not all U.S. citizens enjoy liberty and justice, particularly gay, lesbian and transgender people.
But in San Francisco, violence shook the city's neighborhood perhaps most associated with gay pride, the Castro district. Police said three people were shot at a party, during so-called "Pink Saturday" festivities preceding Sunday's activities.

This morning I read about a woman on parole who attacked two ladies at an Arco gas station. Felicia Andrea Speaks, of Chula Vista, was taken into custody and booked into Las Colinas Detention Facility after the altercation at the Arco gas station on E Street off Interstate 5. The two women had pulled into the business and parked to get gas when they were confronted by Speaks, who was putting air in the tires of a gray Cadillac. She had accused the women of blocking her in, she began to push and hit the women. Then she drove off with her small child in the back seat, who was jumping around unsecured. She returned moments later on foot swinging a weapon described as a 22-inch wooden stick or dowel. She reached into the car and began to beat one of the women on the back who was leaning over to protect a small child sitting in the back seat, then she took one of the women's purses. The other woman tried to help her friend and a struggle ensued. Speaks struck her several times with the weapon on the head, face and arms. That woman was taken to a hospital for treatment. That victims STATUS is that she was treated and released from the hospital. Speaks then ran off and was chased by a Good Samaritan who recovered the purse but not before Speaks had allegedly taken two $50 bills. A sergeant recognized Speaks as the woman who had been in a prior altercation at a bank parking lot, he went to her home on Woodlawn Avenue where he found a Cadillac parked in the driveway. The back plates of the car matched the plates that the victim had written on her hand. Officers knocked but had to force their way into the home when Speaks tried to block the door. She was taken into custody and faces several charges including robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, battery and cruelty to a child. The weapon was recovered. Speaks' husband, who is also a parolee, told officers they had used the dowel to prop up a sink. The child remains in his custody. I think that this story is crazy and that that lady needs some mental help.

Monday- Today I read an article about two men who tried to rob a store. The men were said to have stolen some goods and took off. The mall security chased them with no success. One man was detained while the other took off. The police then got there and had a bad confrontation with the man. The officer had gotten into a physical fight. The police officer suffered from a minor wrist injury. The suspect was booked in jail and is set for trial being charged on battery on a peace officer. Also he spat blood on the officer after loosing the fight.
The story was interesting but the police officer was not very tough. The reason why is because he had to see paramedics for a wrist injury. I thought it was funny that the suspect spat blood on the officer.
I learned that there are suspects out there who would beat up a cop to get out of there face.

Monday- In today’s news, Authorities in southern California said the strong smell of marijuana helped them discover $45 million worth of drugs in the back of a tractor-trailer they had pulled over for a traffic violation. Deputies stopped the truck and opened the trailer after finding problems with the paperwork for the load. A big odor led investigators to finding about 20 tons of narcotics stashed in the back of the truck, including about 38,000 pounds of marijuana, 2,700 pounds of cocaine and 67 pounds of methamphetamine. A sheriff said the seizure was one of the largest in the county's history. The truck's driver was arrested and charged with possession, transportation and sale of narcotics.

During today’s reading I read an article about a gun ban in Chicago. The Supreme Court has ruled unconstitutional Chicago, Illinois' 28-year-old strict ban on handgun ownership. The status of crime has forced a high court to come into the picture. When people get into it on the streets, they have to resolve there problem some way. Some people talk it out and other regime and resort to violence. Even though we have the right to bear arms, there's still has to be a limit on weapon use. I think that this is a good thing, but also a bad thing because there going against the constitution.

TUESDAY-- Two Tampa Bay Florida officers have passed away. During an early shooting this morning, both of the officers were shot and killed. Officers David Curtis, and Jeffrey Kocab were both 31, according to the Tampa Police Department. Curtis pulled over a vehicle and found that the male driver had warrants for petty violations. The officers were shot as they were trying to retain the suspect. As the officers put their hands on the suspect, the suspect turned around and shot both of the officers. There were attempts from medics to save the officers, but their attempts had no affect. Both of the officers were pronounced dead later that night. The suspect fled the scene short after the shooting took place. The Tampa Bay Police department is now under investigation to find the man that committed this crime. I think all police officers are extremely courageous and put their life on the line every day. It is just a tragedy to hear about it actually being taken away from them. I hope the police department is able to find the man before he is able to injure another officer.

In today's news I read about A group of gunmen killed a well-known Mexican singer when he arrived at a toll booth in the western Mexican state of Sinaloa. The Deputy Attorney General's Office said Sergio "El Shaka" Vega was on his way to perform at a village festival concert when gunmen ambushed the red Cadillac he was driving around 9:30 p.m. Saturday. Authorities are still investigating the 40-year-old musician's death. They said they found 9 mm shell casings in the car's door. Musicians have been targets of Mexican drug gangs in the past. Violence in Mexico has skyrocketed since President Felipe Calderon declared war on the nation's drug cartels shortly after taking office in December 2006. More than 22,000 people have died in drug violence during that time period.

Tuesday- Today I read about 12-year-old Alyssa Blackman lives in the San Martin De Poras apartment complex in the 9000 block of Jamacha Road in Spring Valley.  On Sunday night she says she was walking to the laundry room when she came face to face with a coyote. It was just standing there looking at me.  I stepped back and I was about to run, but then it jumped on me and attacked me, says Alyssa Blackman. Alyssa adds that the coyote didn't bite her but it ripped her shirt and knocked her to the ground.  It looked like it was about to jump back on me and bite me so I kicked it and it just ran down the stairs. I think that this sucks because now the parents of the children always have to be on alert now.

This morning I read about how a guy is being convicted because he had stolen machine guns. The man was from El Cajon, and got 87 months in prison after pleading guilty. The guns were stolen September 29th from a van of a licensed fire arm dealer. The guy in the van was participating in the San Diego convention to demonstrate the weapons. The guns that were stolen were a Heckler and Koch G36 5.56 mm machine gun and a FNH P090 5.7 mm machine gun. These guns are only available for police and military use. The guy, Mark Allen, was trying to sell two guns to a co-conspirator for $2,000, prosecutors said. The accomplice, Forest Hopster, then tried to sell the guns to a methamphetamine dealer, but agents from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives intervened and seized the weapons.
I think that Mark’s selling price for the guns was way to low. If those guns are only supposed to be used by cops and people in the military. Mark should have asked for $2,000 for each gun.

In today’s paper I read an article about the Katrina money dyeing. After the almost five years they look at the status of the Hurricane Katrina fund, and money is starting to run out. New Orleans residents try to resolve the loss of there homes, and will not have much resource. What will they do now? The government regime isn't really funding these people anymore, It's like they just said forget them . I think the Government was fully responsible for the levee breaking, and they should help these people as much as they possibly can.

tuesday- Homeowners get a solar array installed on their roof, maintained for the life of the lease. They're hooked up to the electric grid, so when they need more power than the panels provide, there's no disruption. SolarCity guarantees the panels will produce a set amount of power, which the company says should offset the electric bill and more than compensate for the monthly fee.
"Our goal is to get millions of homes to go solar, but the biggest barrier is the experience," said Lyndon Rive, the company's 33-year old CEO with major entrepreneurial connections. "Humans are lazy by nature. They want to do the right thing, but they don't want to jump through ten hoops to do it."
The challenge now facing SolarCity, and competitors like Akeena and Sunpower: Can these residential-mounted solar systems compete with the massive utility-scale solar arrays being built in the desert or the vast commercial solar systems being put atop big box stores nationwide? And can they do it competitively when the generous government subsidies expire?

Tuesday- Today I read an article about a twelve year old girl. The girl said that she was attacked by a coyote in Spring Valley. The girl stated that she was headed toward the laundry room when she came face to face with a coyote. She said that she prepared herself to run when the coyote jumped on her and knocked her to the floor. It was also stated that she was not bitten but did get her clothes ripped. The girl also said that the night before she had seen a coyote in the apartment complex. For that reason is why she knew it was not a dog it was a coyote. There was fish and game officials searching for the coyote but were unsuccessful.
This was a shocking story because a little coyote attacked a little girl. I think that the coyote if it was one probably got greedy and wanted a bigger meal. The little girl will probably never go outside at night.
I learned that even coyote’s are really vicious and will harm anyone.

WEDNESDAY-- Colton Harris is now a wanted man in Norfolk, Nebraska. Authorities believe the 19-year-old is responsible for stealing approximately 1.5 million dollars worth of property. Harris has been on the run since April 2008. He escaped from a Renton group home, and has been M.I.A ever since then. Authorities believe he is connected to “The Barefoot Bandit”. Harris is wanted for Grand Theft Auto and attempted Airplane theft. He has reportedly stolen from various states and sells the vehicles for profit. Detectives have begun to collect DNA samples and fingerprints in the hopes it will help relieve the stress of this wanted teenager. The last place Harris has been seen is in Dallas City, Illinois, but nothing more can be connected to him. I think it is ridiculous that this young man is able to get away with this much crime. 1.5 million is a large amount of money. I wonder how he sells these things without anybody noticing him. Hopefully detectives are able to track him down and stop him from committing anymore crime.

In today's news I read about five trapped workers were found dead Tuesday in northern China more than a week after their coal mine was flooded by a rush of underground water. The fatalities came a day after 115 miners were pulled out alive amid cheers, as rescuers scrambled to reach dozens more believed to be still trapped inside. The miners were part of a larger group of 261 working in the Wangjialing mine when it flooded on March 28. Rescuers were able to reach 108 miners immediately after the flooding. Before the Monday rescue, the miners tapped and shouted to indicate they were alive. Hundreds of rescuers were working around the clock to drain water, monitor gas and pull out miners. Mine accidents are common in China. In 2009, 2,631 people were killed in such accidents. The figure while high is down from 2002 when 6,995 people died. On Monday, the country launched a two-month campaign of safety inspections in mines and other industries that have had serious accidents

This morning I read a story about a 51-year-old man who was assaulted with a tire iron Friday in Otay Mesa by a man who accused him of stealing cardboard. The 51-year-old victim and his wife were in a van on Avenida Costa Blanca near Avenida De La Fuente about 12:40 p.m. when the other man accused him of taking cardboard from some nearby pallets. The victim denied taking anything. The man and a teenager then began kicking the van and punching the victim through an open window. They tried to drag him out of the van. The victim grabbed a tire iron to defend himself. The suspect grabbed the tire iron and hit the victim several times in the chest with it, then punched the victim again. Witnesses called police and the victim was taken to the hospital, with a non-life threatening injury STATUS. The suspects are being sought. I think that this is a sad story. There are other ways the could have RESOLVED the issue.

This morning I read about some teenagers who got into trouble with some cops. A 16 year old driving with two other 17 year old boys were shooting marshmallows at other cars and people. The boys were driving a 1997 Ford Ranger. Some people called the cops and told the cops that some boys were shooting marshmallows at cars and people. The cops soon arrived, and the boys tried to flee the scene. The teenager drove to Patriot Street off Santo Road where he crashed into a center median and the truck rolled over. The teenager tried to run away, but was caught soon after. The boys said they were taking turns shooting the marshmallows out of a compressed air gun, and took off because they were scared of getting a ticket. Now the boys are facing charges of felony evading. All of the teens ended up with cuts, and bruises, and were taken to the hospital.
I think that these boys are extremely stupid. I just don’t understand how they thought that they can get away with what they did. I learned that trying to run from cops is felony evading.

Wednesday- Today I read an interesting article about a teenager. The story was about three teens that were playing a prank on cars and people. It was said that they were driving around in a pickup truck shooting marshmallows at people and their cars. Police got involved and they tried to flee but were unsuccessful. The police tried to pull them over when they saw the truck take off at high speed. The truck then crashed at a corner and flipped over. The teens were booked into juvenile hall after being arrested. They seem to be getting charged with more things than they were supposed to.
This was a good article because they gave every detail wanted out of it. The teens are really dumb for even throwing marshmallows at people. I think that the police had a good time trying to chase down these lawbreakers.
I learned that there are really dumb teens that get booked into juvenile hall for really dumb things.

But 18-year-old Nhlonipho Mchunu says he's determined not to be another statistic. That's why he has decided to be circumcised.

After the police checked the status of the car, they found out that it belonged to a couple. The regime of the incident was unknown, and injuries on one of the women had nothing to do with a traffic accident. I think this is simple a case of murder, the whole situation sound suspicious. The were no further comments because the sheriff didn’t want to jeopardize the case.

In today's news I read about Egidio Torre Cantu, brother of slain Mexican gubernatorial candidate Rodolfo Torre Cantu, was chosen by the Institutional Revolutionary Party, or PRI, to take his place on the ballot. The naming of the new candidate comes just days before Sunday's elections. Rodolfo Torre, candidate for governor in the border state of Tamaulipas, was gunned down Monday morning near Ciudad Victoria, Mexico. No arrests have been made in the killing, which was presumably carried out by one of the drug cartels fighting for control of the Tamaulipas corridor. It was the highest profile killing of a Mexican political candidate since the 1994 assassination of presidential candidate Luis Donaldo Colosio. Egidio Torre has some political experience, having been mayor of Ciudad Victoria from 2000-2001. His election by party leaders as the replacement candidate was surprising to some, as he was not on any of the shortlists that were circulating on the eve of the decision. Although he is the new candidate, the ballots will not be modified and will carry his slain brother's name. Rodolfo Torre was a front-runner in the race for the governorship. Wednesday was also the last day of campaigning before the vote. Three others were killed in the shooting that ended Rodolfo Torre's life, including a state lawmaker, Enrique Blackmore.

THURSDAY-- Another teacher is being accused of having sexual relationships with a student. Twenty-five-year-old Christen Sullivan was accused of having sex with a fourteen year old student. She is said to have had sex with a young boy. They have said to have sexual relations at the school, at his house, in the car, and various other places. She will have a new status of a sexual predator. They have been having these relations since May of 2009. She is facing two counts of sexual battery. Christen Sullivan is now marked as a predator, and persecutors are looking at giving her the most reasonable amount of time possible. I think she should be punished, but not hard jail time. She should have jail time, but not 15 years or what ever she is able to be sentenced to. Her teaching license should be taken away and needs to become a registered sex offender. I think this would help resolve a lot of the problems this could possibly create in the future.

This morning I tread about how the U.S Customs seized 107 fake passports, visas at five ports of entry along the U.S Mexico border. “Operation Goal Keeper’s” goal was to catch people who were using stolen, lost, counterfeit or altered travel documents to illegally cross into the United States at the San Ysidro, Otay Mesa, Tecate, Calexico and Andrade border crossings between June 7 and June 13. U.S Custom and Border Patrol caught 47 people with counterfeit or altered passports and visas. They also caught 60 people who were carrying other U.S citizens real documents. The U.S. Attorney’s Office is prosecuting 39 cases of passport or visa fraud. Sixty people were deported to Mexico because of the prosecution. The violators will never be granted lawful entry into the United States. Ever since June 2009 U.S. and Canadian citizens 16 and older have been required to present a valid travel document when entering the U.S. by land or sea. I also read that those who give others permission to use their legal documents to others that are undocumented will be prosecuted.
I think that there wouldn’t be so much problems about undocumented people entering the U.S if they and permission to come and live her in the first place. I have read my history and those of Latin descent were here in the U.S before anyone else. I think that the U.S is seriously way to corrupted, and stupid.

Thursday- today I read an article about a bad confrontation between a couple and a group of people. The whole situation was said to have started in a hotel. There was a couple who heard a few people arguing outside their motel room. When the man went outside he started to get into it with them. He then went inside and ended it. Well later on his girlfriend and him were headed to catch a cab when the group started to follow them. They then got too close and the man turned around and took a swing. What seemed to be a full on punch was a fist with a knife. The victim died at the scene.
This was a sad story because the couple were trying to have a good day. At this moment the man is going to have to go to court and may be charged for murder. The person who died although had it coming to him so I don’t blame the innocent person.
I learned that when someone try’s to hurt you if you defend yourself and that person dies you may be off on self-defense.

He is accused of molesting a 13-year-old boy at a Sacramento motel in February.Guillen worked as a school bus driver in Santa Rosa and befriended the victim. The alleged molestation happened when the pair went to Sacramento to attend an auto show. The victim was allowed to travel with Guillen and stay overnight with him. I hate guys like this they are under cover child molestors. That is so disgusting.!

Friday- Today I read an article about a child molester. The article stated that the man was a former coach for an Imperial Beach School. The man was now living in Sacramento where he was a school bus driver. Officials said that the man got close relationship wise with a thirteen year old boy. So he invited him to a car show and told the kid he could stay with him at a hotel since it was late. The suspect then gave the boy alcohol and started to sexually molest the boy. The suspect a sixty year old man was arrested and sent to jail. There is still an investigation to see whether there are more victims.
The article made me gag a little because a sixty year old man actually molested a thirteen year old boy. There Should be a new law that gets these type of people executed. I do not get why a man would want to molest a boy when there are girls out there.
I learned that most child molesters go for a boy to molest than a girl.

friday- Lab-grown bacteria may gobble oil. Some scientists believe that oil-eating microbes grown in labs would help accelerate the cleanup in and along the Gulf of Mexico. These bugs are naturally occurring microscopic oil eating bacteria. Oil muncher bugs are grown in laboratories. Scientists believe in concentrated amounts of water, these bugs could possibly accelerate the cleanup of the BP oil spill. When fertilized with nitrogen and phosphorus, these bugs ate oil away quickly in the past. I believe these bugs may possibly resolve our oil pollution issue. Seeing the status on how much oil there is in the Gulf Of Mexico, it is obvious no one has pronounced a regime that has worked for this oil spill. This may be our only hope.

This morning I read about how some Environmentalist made threats to sue fourth of July fireworks in La Jolla. The whole point of them to try and stop the fireworks was to reduce water pollution. Supporters of the show say they will carry on despite the legal threats. The attorney that is against the fireworks, is Marco Gonzalez. They are saying that he is just doing this to promote himself with the media. The La Jolla foundation already has an attorney lined up, just in case. The La Jolla foundation says that they have the resource to continue the show no matter what. The Firework show cost about $25,000 annually. Marco Gonzales said the La Jolla fireworks spectacle is a very big concern for him because it takes place near one of the most biologically important marine areas in California. Marco Gonzales has also made it clear that there will be no compromises.
I think that Marco does have a point in water pollution, but fireworks will not kill or hurt marine life. The fireworks go into the air and by the time they come down it will do absolutely nothing to the marine life. I think that it is also very dumb trying to try and stop the show last minute.

Six misdemeanor charges were filed against her. Alice Via faces charges of having an unlawful kennel, keeping animals in an unsanitary environment, failing to treat contagious animals, and three counts of failure to care for an animal. Each charge carries a maximum sentence of six months in jail. Via was arrested March 10 and 63 dogs were taken from her home by county Department of Animal Services. Via has run a rescue operation since 1994. the dogs suffered from a variety of ailments when they were picked up, including mange, malnutrition and dehydration. Via said in an interview that she took good care of the animals, providing food and water for them in their crates and letting them play in her yard for an hour twice a day. She said she was often called by Animal Services employees asking her to take boxers who could not remain in a shelter. I think this is a very sad story and I wish the article would have enclosed the dogs STATUS. I think that most of those dogs will be euthanized or something.
