TUESDAY-- The has been a new twist added to a missing children’s case. Terry Horman hired a landscaper to kill her husband. It is said to be that she wanted her husband killed because she was unhappy with the relationship, and she thought her husband was being unfaithful. The mother asked the landscaper if he would be willing to kill her husband for a large amount of money. The amount has not been released. Now their son is missing and the husband worried about his wife. The husband ,Cane Horman, is said to have been filing for divorce and a restraining order. The landscaper was hired behind Cane’s back, and he was approached about this murder plot over seven months ago. They are now looking for evidence of the murder plot. I think they have enough evidence, especially with the mental stability the wife seems to be in. Can was smart to want a divorce, and has a good hitch for things. I want to know what is going to happen to the landscaper, and more about the disappearance of their son.

Monday- today I read an article about the fourth of July fireworks. The article was about an accident that had four injuries involved. The whole thing was because one firework flipped a table and more fireworks followed in its lead. The injuries were minor burns on four men. One was taken to the hospital and the others refused. The fireworks show was cancelled after for the safety of the people. The situation was taken care of quickly but officials still had to cancel the rest of the show. The show was already in their eighteen minutes so people got a good show.
This was a weird article because there is usually no injuries on fourth of July for fireworks. These types of situations are what kill the whole festivity things and will probably cancel future shows. The fireworks are pretty cool to watch but I think that they should not think of canceling any shows at all.
I learned that because one accident they want to cancel future firework shows.
Monday- Today I read about a naked man that was passed out and thought he entered his own home in Pacific Beach. He was wrong though he was about 20 miles off. This man entered the property and at the door he started to strip off his clothes and from there he opened the unlocked door found a couch and knocked out for the night. And later on that morning he got hauled away. I feel bad for this guy because he got that drunk he actually did something that stupid. I also think that the homeowner is really stupid for leaving his doors un-locked. That’s what he had coming that’s how I feel about this because if the man locked the door then he wouldn’t have had this problem on his hands in the first place. I’m also happy he was being cool about this and not pressing charges because being put on the internet is embarrassing enough.

This morning I read a story about a high speed chase that started in Chula Vista and ended in San Bernardino county. Fred Eugene Hiser of Chula Vista was taken into custody about 8:45 p.m. on Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass by California Highway Patrol officers who followed him from Interstate 5 and state Route 52. Chula Vista police were pursuing Hiser after they say he carjacked a 56-year-old woman and her 75-year-old mother at gunpoint. The victims were walking near the intersection of F Street and Lagoon Drive just before 6 p.m. when they were approached by a man who pointed a semi-automatic handgun at them and demanded the car keys to their parked vehicle. Officers caught up with the car on Interstate 5 in National City and tried to pull it over but the driver refused to stop. CHP officers used spike strips and pit maneuvers to end the pursuit. After one officer hit the car with his patrol car it spun around and headed the wrong way in lanes until another patrol car pushed it into the center divide. CHP officers used spike strips and pit maneuvers to end the pursuit. After one officer hit the car with his patrol car it spun around and headed the wrong way in lanes until another patrol car pushed it into the center divide. I think that there are other COMPONENTS to why he acted the way he did. His actions IMPLY that he was on drugs. I am glad that the ladies who were the victims, and no one else was hurt.

In today's news I read about an Afghan counter-narcotics police and international security forces killed 64 people and arrested 10 others during a three-day operation in Helmand province. Authorities also discovered and burned 16,641 kilograms (36,687 pounds) of narcotics during the operation, which ended Sunday. The ministry described the 64 people killed as terrorists. Fourteen civilians held by insurgents were released during the operation. Afghanistan is the world's largest producer of opium, heroin and hashish, according to the U.N. Office on Drugs and Crime. The illicit drug trade is a major source of revenue for the Taliban, which tax Afghan farmers and traffickers to fund the insurgency.
Today I was reading about Governor Timothy Murray from Massachusetts who checked into a Worcester Hospital on Monday to get checked up for observation on “feeling under the weather “ as said. After marching in five parades in the 90 degree weather heat over the last three days were over the top . Lt. Governor, that evening decided to be in the seek of medical care . So , he was at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester to spent the night for observations . But as Sullivan said Murray ,42 is in “good spirits ”. National Weather Service has issued heat advisories across the region with grips of a historical heatwave .
The weather has been getting over the top but , the weather today is cold though. But as for the other day it had been getting hot . I was watching my little sister the other day and I did take her in because just like Governor Timothy she had to be checked in as well .
Wednesday- Today I read about Five gunmen stormed a medical marijuana dispensary in Normal Heights Tuesday and made off with a large amount of cash and marijuana. The owner says the gunmen threatened to kill him if he didn't cooperate. It happened shortly after 11 a.m. at The Gift of Green dispensary in the 3200 block of Adams Avenue. San Diego police are looking for five suspects. All are believed to have been carrying guns when the dispensary was robbed. A shotgun was also taken from the dispensary during the robbery. I think that when people really wants something that they will do anything to get it. That includes doing some really stupid things to get it. They will do whatever it takes. That’s how I feel because if I wants something I will do whatever I have to do to get it.
tuesday- Every Friday morning, students walk into an art class in Atlanta, Georgia. Some look dazed, uncertain in their environment, as if it's vaguely familiar but they can't fully recognize where they are -- until they sit down and begin to draw. The moment their brushes hit the paper, their faces light up. Using bright colors -- yellows, oranges, greens, purples -- they begin to transfer the images from their minds. Sometimes they paint what they want and sometimes they draw the highlighted centerpiece of the day. One week it's vegetables, another week it's hats. As their artworks progress, they look happy, smiling and glancing at their teachers for approval. They're not the only ones who are pleased. Tania Becker, president of the board of the Spruill Center in Atlanta, developed the Arts 4 Alzheimer's program with the help of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Alzheimer's Association. This program helps Alzheimer's patients and their caregivers escape the disease, even if only for a few hours. I respect the fact that these caregivers don’t exclude anyone from art, despite their condition. One component of Alzheimer's is the lack of remembering things. These caregivers are trying to imply that art is an important aspect of life.

In today's news I read about a quarrel between occupants of two vehicles at a McDonald's restaurant drive-through in southern Finland erupted in gunfire Tuesday, leaving three men dead. Three occupants in one of the vehicles have been arrested. The two vehicles were in line at the restaurant about 2 a.m. when the quarrel began. Shots from a semiautomatic handgun were fired from a Toyota SUV into a convertible driven by a pregnant woman and carrying four men. Two of the men in the convertible, ages 28 and 45, died at the scene. Another 28-year-old man died Tuesday afternoon at a hospital in Finland's capital, Helsinki, about 50 miles to the west. Two of the men were shot in the head, the other in the chest. The SUV carried one woman and two men. One of the men, 41, is the principal suspect. In 1995 he was sentenced to life in prison on one count of murder and two counts of attempted homicide. He was released on parole in December. They would not release the suspect's name.
THURSDAY-- Fishing grounds in the Gulf have been closed. There is one man that has been clam fishing, and has caught nothing but dead sea life. The boats are not working due to the oil spill. There have been thousands of people put out of work because of the oil spills. Everything is dying and will keep dying. This will take years to fix. Peoples fishing businesses have been ruined over night. Because of the loss of income, people are forced to search for jobs, in out already bad economy. I think the cost of seafood will raise a reasonable amount. The BP company should be having to pay for the people that have lost income because of their mistake. It is horrible how they are killing all of these species, and there is no way to stop it.
Thursday- Today I read about the first time in more than 10 years, the city of San Diego is seeking competitive bids for the job of providing 24-hour security at Qualcomm Stadium. City officials say the bidding process fulfills a commitment they made last year, when they were criticized for initially awarding a 30-year sole-source agreement to Elite Show Services. Critics say requirements written into the proposal appear to exclude most of Elite’s business rivals.
Blake - In today’s reading I read an article about the heat causing fires and power outages. The intense heat made Tuesday a rough night for a lot of residents in Massachusetts. A manhole fire knocked out power to dozens of homes in South Boston. Crews worked in two different manholes Wednesday morning to restore power to 47 customers on M Street. Heat is also being blamed for a brush fire which caused a high-tension power line to fall on the Lowell Connector Tuesday afternoon. The highway was closed in both directions late Tuesday as crews worked to make repairs. The Connector was opened in time for Wednesday's morning commute. Fire crews responded to heat-related fires all over the city, including nine transformer fires reported on telephone poles in areas including Charlestown, Brighton, and Dorchester.
Blake - tuesday - In today’s reading I read an article the north eastern states bracing for scorching temperatures. The eastern seaboard is expecting triple digit temperatures as a hot air mass that settled into the region Sunday promises hotter and more humid weather Tuesday. The National Weather Service issued a heat alert for Boston, Massachusetts, New York, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Washington as well as all of Delaware and New Jersey awoke to unusually high morning temperatures. New York City, along with much of the Northeast, is expected to break one hundred degrees and may reach a record of one hundred one, with a heat index , which factors in humidity levels, approaching one hundred seven. New York officials are attempting to exhaust all possibilities to keep New Yorkers cool and avoid a crisis similar to the one in 2006, when a heat wave killed 46 people in the city.
Blake-wednesday-In today’s reading I read an article about how people in the North East are trying to beat triple digit heat. An excessive heat watch will remain in effect through Thursday afternoon in parts of the Northeast. The heat has claimed at least two lives. An elderly woman in Pennsylvania and a Maryland resident was found inside a home with a temperature higher than 90 degrees. For a second consecutive day Wednesday, temperatures approached or surpassed the 100-degree mark in many states. Heat indices will be close to 100 degrees again on Thursday. An excessive heat watch will remain in effect through Thursday afternoon in parts of Delaware, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The Heat index values are expected to hover between 100 and 104 degrees Thursday. Water parks, pools and even fire hydrants became gathering places for people trying try to cool off as the record-breaking heat wave continued to roast much of the region.
tuesday !
This morning I read about lady gaga. Lady Gaga is a fashion trendsetter, and everybody is wanting to copy her contact lenses that make the pupils huge. The increased sale for Korean Circle lenses, are not FDA approved. Eye care professionals say that if the lens doesn't fit properly, it can cause infections or scarring of the cornea and result in permanent vision loss. He says the damage can be done before you are even aware there is a problem. He says that if you buy the lenses are not FDA approved they cost about 20 dollars a pair. If you buy them at an Eye Care place they are about 40 dollars for six pair.
I don’t know why people would even want to wear these lenses, I think they are to weird. I also think that these Eye Care Doctors kind of care for the health of others, but hey also tried to promote their business, by mentioning how much they cost at Eye Care places. I had no idea that girls were trying to copy how Lady Gaga’s eyes look in the bad romance video.
Wednesday !
This morning I read about the 4.4 magnitude earthquake that happened on Monday. The earthquake struck Imperial Valley and eastern San Diego County. The earthquake was centered further south than most other aftershocks from the magnitude 7.2 Easter Sunday earthquake. The Easter Sunday caused a lot damage. Two people were killed, and there was $100 million damage north of the border, according to USGS data. Monday's earthquake was centered about 60 miles south-southeast of Mexicali, and 50 miles north of the resort town of San Felipe, on the Sea of Cortez coast. It hit at 2:30 a.m.
Like I said, these earthquakes are really freaking me out! I did not feel this earthquake, and I am barely finding out about it today. The earthquake was only 4.4 magnitude, so that’s why I did not feel it. What I want to know, is what are these earthquakes leading to.
Thursday !
This morning I read about the earthquake that hit on Wednesday June 5th. The earthquake happened at 4:53 p.m. The earthquake centered about 13 miles north-northwest of Borrego Springs. The earthquake was felt in Riverside County and as far north as Palmdale in northern Los Angeles County. It is said that these earthquakes should be a warning sign for others to come. A rock slide was near the 14-mile marker of Montezuma Valley Road near San Felipe Road with several large boulders down, approximately a foot and a half in diameter. Also, a large boulder, approximately 4 foot by 5 foot, fell 1000 feet from a cliff, bounced across Old Highway 80 and left a 3 foot by 1 foot deep hole in the 8-inch concrete near Buckman Springs Road. The rock was strong enough force to break two mature oak trees.
I felt the earthquake, and all these earthquakes are starting to freak me out. I wish the earthquakes would just stop, and if they happen, I wish they would happen like around the time I was seven. Earthquakes never wake me up, but ever since the Easter earthquake they wake me up all the time.
Thursday- Today I read an article about a man arrested for a 1993 killing. The man was arrested after being found in a DNA match. The DNA match was found on a dead body that had been tested to see if any evidence was left behind. The suspect was arrested while leaving his home. The military went and arrested the man and not the police. In the article it stated about how there were two bodies found dead on interstate 805. The bodies were said to have bullet wounds in their head. The man arrested was also from the military.
This was a good article because some people think that because they are from the military they could do anything. They are really wrong and they should give him a really bad sentencing. The military should have him do something like send him off on a suicide mission to Iraq.
I learned that even military people think they are on top and could do anything they want.
thursday- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration this week approved the first implantable miniature telescope for the eye, to treat macular degeneration. The device helps patients with end-stage, age-related macular degeneration, the leading cause of severe vision loss in Americans older than 60. After being placed into one eye, the device acts as a telescope by replacing the natural lens and magnifies and projects images onto a healthy portion of the retina, according to the FDA. The non-implanted eye is used for peripheral vision. 8 million people in the United States have macular degeneration, a condition that damages the center of the retina – called the macula - causing vision problems. This excludes people with high glaucoma levels and anyone below the age of 60. One component of the miniature telescope is magnifying images into the eye. The FDA is trying to imply new technology to help the health of the people.
Wensday Morning Blog : Alisa Maier , a 4 year old girl in Missouri who was missing , token out of her front yard . Monday evening while she was playing with her 6 year old brother she was snatched . So , Alisa Maier was safe home and family’s were overjoyed . I’m glad as well that they found her and the suspect and everything should be all good .
FRIDAY-- Love lead to death for the girl and the boy that feel in love. They meet late at night. The neighbor next door heard the beating continue on for over an hour. The young lovers were beaten, electrocuted, and tortured to death. The girls family were the ones doing the beating. They say they were against the relationship, and did not want them together. The boy was at her house at midnight, and the family assumed what was going to happen. They killed him because he was from a lower class, and the young girl was already promised to another man. In their culture the ladies have basically no say in what happens to them. They cannot choose for themselves what to wear, where to go, what to say, or even how to say it. I think this culture should catch up to how things are now. Women are not being oppressed anymore, and it should stop. I think killing somebody just because you don’t want your niece or daughter with them is ridiculous. You can’t control who you love.
Friday- Today I read about A 19-year-old man who admitted shooting a San Diego Trolley security guard and assaulting several others told a judge Thursday that he wanted to withdraw his guilty plea. Marquise Loftis was scheduled to be sentenced to 22 years and four months in prison after pleading guilty to attempted murder and other charges stemming from separate incidents last year. After hearing Thursday's request to withdraw the plea, El Cajon Judge Lantz Lewis appointed an attorney for Loftis and scheduled a hearing Aug. 25. Authorities said Loftis stole a gun from a security guard last July 15 at the Encanto Station and used it to shoot David Reynoso three nights later at the Grossmont Center Station. I think that this sucks for the officer and I hope everything goes well for the shooter because he’s young and giving him time in the penitentiary will not do him any good.
Tuesday-
In today’s news, Hundreds stormed the streets of downtown Oakland on Thursday night after a verdict in the trial of a white former police officer who fatally shot an unarmed black man. But some in Oakland expected a tougher penalty for the former police officer, and took to the streets in protest. Crowds broke the glass of a Foot Locker and other stores. Others threw sneakers out of the store as police wearing gas masks stormed the area. There were an estimated 800 people in the streets and there were 50 arrests and he expected the number to double by the end of the night.

Five million dollars in cash, wrapped in heat sealed plastic bags and grey duct tape, was also found in the residential garage. A man is facing charges in connection with the seizure. The drugs were found blocks away a High School and police believe the drugs had been destined for sale on the northwest side of the city. The Narcotics unit were investigating the residence as part of an investigation on narcotics trafficking in the Chicago land area. A recent study found that the Chicago area has the worst heroin problem in the U.S.

Friday - The sound of vuvuzelas has been a feature of every match at this year's World Cup, but one Cape Town business is using them to create a different kind of buzz. Adam Carnegie is the creator of eco-friendly, custom-crafted horns made from dried kelp plant. As well as using sustainable materials, he hopes to create sustainable employment in the community. These reporters implying that we can make eco-friendly objects, and portraying it in the media in a positive way. The component that makes up vuvuzelas are dried kelp. blake-friday- In today’s reading I read an article about heavy rain pounding Mexican states and killing at least fifteen people. Mexican President Felipe Calderon promised federal aid to three states after torrential rains soaked the area. The states of Nuevo Leon, Tamaulipas and Coahuila started cleanup efforts Thursday as Calderon pledged his support at a news conference. Nuevo Leon was the most affected, with the15 fatalities from the state and at least 43 municipalities declared states of emergency. Many key intersections and highways throughout the state. The national defense secretary and other federal agencies have established more than two dozen shelters in the three states. They evacuated nearly ten thousand people and provided accommodations for at least four thousand thirty. The number of fatalities in other states was not immediately available. At least 16 municipalities in the state of Coahuila are under a state of emergency.
friday!!!!
This morning I read an article about a man who was shot by police in El Cajon during an attempted traffic stop. The patrol officer spotted the man driving erratically in a black sedan near a 7-Eleven and was about to pull him over when the man jumped out of his car. Just as he was about to put the information out on the police radio and make a formal traffic stop, the driver of the car jumped out immediately. The man walked back toward the marked patrol car and the officer drew his weapon and ordered the man to get down on the ground. The man ignored directions from the officer and a struggle ensued. The officer reholstered his pistol and fired his Taser at the man. However, the man was able to remove the Taser barb and run away. The officer caught up with the suspect and another struggle occurred, with the officer using his baton to strike the man and try to subdue him. The man broke away and ran back toward his car and the officer caught up with him. Witnesses heard the officer yell at the man, “Get off me,” and the officer fired his gun, striking the man in the pelvic area. The man was taken to a hospital, where he underwent surgery and has been reported in critical condition. I think that his behavior IMPLIES that he was on drugs, maybe PCP or something like that. Drugs can be a major COMPONENT to your behavior.
friday !
This morning I read an article about involuntary slaughter. This incident was taped, and it all occurred on New Year 2009. A trolley cop “accidentally” killed Oscar Grant, he was shot on the back while he was face down. On the night of New years at the trolley platform, the trolley officer was trying to detain Oscar, when supposedly Oscar was resisting. The trolley cop meant to pull out his taser, but instead pulled out his gun, and shot Oscar in the back. The Trolley cop was only given about 4 years instead of being convicted murder. The community was mad, and basically they had a riot.
I think that this incident is unfair, the trolley cop should have been treated like anybody else, and been convicted of murder. If this would have happened to someone I knew, I would have tried everything possible to make it clear that this is not right.
Martin Cooper changed the world after making the first cell phone.Cooper and his team Motorola competed against AT&T in making the first cell phone.AT&T made a system model for the car in which you can make calls, but Cooper wanted something more portable.Cooper worked on the cell phone for three years and came up with a prototype,it was as big as a rick but it the job.The prototype was introduced to the public in 1973 in a new york sidewalk and was not sold until a decade later,The DynaTac.Cooper, now 81,is founder of ArrayComm,a company working for cellular improvements.Cooper's creation changed the face of communication as we know it.

In today's news I read about three people who were hospitalized and a drunk driver suspect who got arrested on Wednesday after they crashed and left the car split in two. The four drivers were driving on Interstate 15 to south Interstate 5 about 1 in the morning when the driver lost control of the car and hot one of the dividers. The driver was driving in a very high speed and that why he lost control of the car. The impact ripped the car apart and sent the back half to the other side of the highway. A traffic alert was issued until about 3:10 in the morning, and the traffic was diverted to the north bound in the I-5 while the authorities investigate what happen. The CHP officer said that there were evidence that alcohol was a factor in the crash.

For the next time we go I want to see more fish. The 5 thing that I learn was the sea horses how many babes do they have. Another thing was on the lobster how they protect them self. The other thing is was about the starfish how they eat. The other thing was about the sea cucumber. My last thing that I learn is about the sharks .I fell like it was a good trip for me. Because it was my first time.
Monday-Today I read about the U.S. military which charged a solider Iraq who is suspected of leaking a helicopter attack video that shows civilian deaths .The solider is being detained and is facing 8 charges that violate the U.S. code for allegedly illegally transferring classified information. The footage shows a military operation filmed the solider will go to court and be detained for right now.
Wednesday- Today I read about homeless teens who are staying on the streets and enjoying the streets that they live on. It is were they say they can live safe without being abused. The teens say its hard but it’s a daily issue for them they each have problems and they deal with them by living on the streets. Some people have different views and say they love the freedom and fun on the streets.
Thursday-Today I read about a priest who used the church money to set himself in luxury . The priest spent all the church money plus every thing that he got paid for , he spent more than 1 million dollars. His official salary over those seven years totaled over 184,00or almost 27,000 a year, he also scammed over 221,000, the situation is arising still.
Friday-Today I read about the obesity that is growing in Africa. Along with the growing prosperity a culture of high fat foods that have taken hold in urban South Africa . Which is a country where malnutrition is one of the major causes of children's deaths. South Africa is also experiencing an increase in obesity related conditions such as heart disease , high blood pressure and diabetes.
