This morning I read about a couple who crashed a President Obama’s first state dinner at the White House. The couple is getting charged with 16 civil suits. The couples court records reveal extensive paper trail in federal bankruptcy and state court filings. The way they were able to get in was because A Secret Service checkpoint “did not follow proper procedures”. The couple did not respond to CNN requests for comment Thursday. The couples face book is full of pictures showing her at social events around Washington. The couple also spends a lot of time in court for several different reasons. In the pictures, apparently they were talking to a lot of celebrities including Oprah.I think it is really weird that the couple even got in to the White House Party. Security must be really stupid. If Security let random people in then they could have let in some terrorist in that case.I learned that Security in the White House is not doing their job well.
Monday- Today I read about Chelsea’s situation. It has gotten big that Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is going to make some changes. He could transform California’s approach of longer sentences, tougher parole conditions and targeted treatment. Also the law could spawn a national movement driven by Chelsea’s parents to implement similar reforms in other states. Some experts express to crack down on sex offenders such as lifetime GPS tracking for those on parole. I wonder what people think of this there might be different opinions. What I think is that there doing at least something to get those sex offenders. They should be in prison for the rest of there life and should be treated bad.
Tuesday-Today I read about a man accused of putting an old man into a concrete wall to get rid of him. The 80 year old man went missing from his home and neighbors stated they received a letter from him. The neighbors said that that was not the man writing and someone had kidnapped him. The letter stated that he had gone on vacation with a lover and wont be back for a while.Investigators are still looking in on this situation. If the man accused is convicted he is facing death row on many charges. The court still does not know where the man who is missing is but they are looking for him. The neighbors are concerned for their old neighbor who couldn’t of defended himself if something like this actually happened to him.I think this is a good article but I do not understand how they got the man accused if he had nothing to do with the old man. The court should really get a lot more evidence before they send this man to death row. I also think that the man accused should fight it until he is proven guilty.I learned that the government will arrest anyone just to have someone behind bars.
Tuesday- Today I read about The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration fined SeaWorld $75,000 Monday for safety violations revealed during the investigation into the death of a killer whale trainer at its Orlando park in February. OSHA cited SeaWorld which also operates parks in San Diego and San Antonio for three safety violations, including one that was classified as "willful" for exposing its employees to struck-by and drowning hazards when interacting with killer whales. In a statement, OSHA officials said their investigation found that SeaWorld trainers had an extensive history of unexpected and potentially dangerous incidents involving killer whales at its various facilities.
Monday- Today I read about Lil Wayne and how he is incarcerated in a New York jail. Lil Wayne is currently serving time at New York's Rikers Island jail on weapons possession charges and is due for release later this year. He has also filed a lawsuit because when he went onto some concert tours they didn’t give him all the money that was said to be given to the artist. These people owe him over $375,000. Honestly I didn’t know the rapper was busted but I know a lot of people that don’t like him so is it the same behind bars? You never know he could be getting boned right now. Me myself I like some of his songs but I don’t like the actual artist he’s fake and he says to much stuff that’s not even true and he doesn’t know how to back it up. There’s a lot of negative stuff out there about rappers and celebrities you never know what’s true. It could have been lies I’ve been hearing.
Santiago Mayor Edelmiro Cavazos’ body was found dead near a local water fall of his industrial city of Monterrey. He was found dead after a extending rash of many several attacks on political figures in an area infested by drug gang battles. The Mexican mayor was found with his hands tied up and his head bounded in tape. It was suggested that it was a drug gang hit, saying that Cavazos’ had participated in state security meettings showing his face on the fight against organized crime.
Blake – Monday – In today’s reading I read an article about Mexican authorities finding seven bodies dumped in mines. Authorities in Hidalgo recovered seven bodies from two mines over the weekend. The Hidalgo state attorney general's office said that it is believed to be related to drug cartel activity. A series of arrests after a confrontation in the city of Pachuca resulted in the arrests of six people. Two of the people that got arrested were police officers. Police learned about a mine in Pachuca and a mine in nearby Mineral del Chico where bodies were dumped. They learned all this from the six suspects. Authorities could not identify the bodies because of advanced decomposition. They sent samples of the bodies to a lab to help with identification. The suspects indicated the bodies were those of area drug dealers.
Blake – Tuesday – In today’s reading I read an article about a hotel shootout in Brasil. One person was killed and four police officers were wounded Saturday when police in Brazil traded fire with gunmen. The gunmen fled into a luxury hotel and took people hostage. The incident occurred around the Intercontinental Hotel in Rio de Janeiro. The gunmen kept thirty five people hostage. Ten people have been arrested. The police said that the hostages were freed. Police identified the deceased as forty one year old Adriana Duarte de Oliveira dos Santos. The deceased was wanted in connection with drug dealing. Police said the incident began outside the hotel when they intercepted at least forty people who they believe have drug dealing connections. The gunmen were in vans, motorcycles and cars and wielded rifles and guns. Police exchanged fire with the gunmen for about twenty minutes. Police searched the hotel for other gunmen but they didn't find any.
Tuesday- Today I have read about National Guard Troops Heading for Border Duty. Arnold Schwarzenegger is getting tired of the drug smuggling and the illegal immigrants coming from Mexico to California. Governor Arnold met with the Troops last week to send them to stop the smugglers and illegal immigrants. Right now the Troops are in training once they complete the training they will be sent. All 224 committed by the governor will be on the ground by Sept. 1. The Congress say that this will be only the beginning, that this is something every important. They want to find a permanent solution. I wonder is keeping illegal immigrants to come to work and try to success in life a bad thing? Most of the hard work illegal’s do the job.
Wednesday-What I read today in the Tribune was about, a former University of South Florida student has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for providing material support to terrorists, including making a videotape showing how to assemble and use a remote-controlled bomb.
Ahmed Abdellatif Sherif Mohamed, 26, was sentenced Thursday in federal court in Tampa, Florida. He pleaded guilty to the charge in June. Under a plea agreement, six other charges against him were dropped. Some of those charges stemmed from an August 2007 traffic stop in suburban Charleston, South Carolina, in which Mohamed and another USF student were arrested.
The other student, Youssef Megahed, still faces a seven-count indictment filed in September 2007. That case is pending.
Fishermen who had pent most of their summer because of ht disastrous BP’s oil spill had gotten back to work on Monday. They started fishing as the fall shrimping season started in the Louisiana’s costal waters opened. Worry whether the catch would b tainted by crude and whether anyone will buy it is the worry for the fishermen. Scientist had reviewed a the data and instead of 26% of the oil remaining ,as a federal report indicated earlier this month that 80% of the oil still remains. ‘’Where has all the oil gone? It still lurks in the deep depths of the ocean. White house representatives are saying that more than three quarters of the oil is gone. But is wrong to just say that a vast majority of the oil is gone. When the really we all now that most of the oil is still out there.
Wednesday- Today this morning I am reading about a woman who was killed early Wednesday. When her vehicle struck a power pole. Cost the car flipped onto a residential lawn where the woman pasted away. The woman died at the scene, sheriff's Lt. Mike Munsey said, it was better that she was alone in her vehicle and no one else was hurt. That comment from the sheriff was not necessary. The lieutenant said he could not immediately confirm whether alcohol or speed played a role but according to broadcast reports, speed was a factor. That’s why people should understand that speeding kills. Poor lady but things happen for a reason.
Thursday- Today I read about Jessica Alba and director Robert Rodriguez using a screening of Machete to send well wishes to troubled actress Lindsay Lohan and praise her performance in the new movie. Lohan was forced to miss the special showing in Los Angeles, which took place just one day after she was discharged from a rehab clinic at the UCLA Medical Center. Filmmaker Rodriguez took the opportunity to rave about Lohan, insisting he can't wait for audiences to see her on the big screen again. Honestly I think that Lindsay Lohan is just some white trash girl that is spoiled. She thinks that she is the coolest person out there when she’s not. She needs a reality check and her being let out of jail early and getting out of rehab early when she really needs to be in there. She’s an addict and doesn’t know it she doesn’t want to see that ugly side of herself.
In ocean beach a controversy has sparked. In a local surf shop of the South Coast Long-boards surf shop there’s a sticker posted on the front window urging the people not to feed the bums. Some locals are saying it ‘s aggressive panhandling. People are forming groups arguing against the city council trying to come up with a way to get rid of the sticker. Many have suggested that if they had shelter support groups, a cleaning task force on the ocean that the sticker wouldn’t be necessary. Others are saying that this is a way to get back their community to the once peaceful and clean community they used to have
Friday-Japan, one of the few industrialized countries with the death penalty, showed one of its execution chambers to the media for the first time Friday.Execution in Japan is carried out by hanging. The two men executed on July 28, Ogata Hidenori, 33, and Shinozawa Kazuo, 59, were the first put to death since the August 2009 elections in Japan. I don't think that Japanese people have a heart.Every person has only one life and God can only decide when to take it away.
Friday- Today I read about A 15-year-old girl that was shot to death early today while hanging out with her boyfriend and another young couple in Clairemont Mesa's Lindbergh Park, police said. Officers were called to investigate the shooting in the 4100 block of Ashford Street at about 1:20 a.m. said San Diego police homicide Lt. Kevin Rooney. The girl was struck by a single gunshot that came from an unknown direction. Rooney said, adding that she died at the scene. At the time, she her boyfriend and another young couple were "just hanging out" in the park, which was near the girl's home, according to Rooney. I think it’s messed up that the little girl was the one that had to get shot. But I just can’t help but wonder why it is that she was the one that got shot. Because if it were a drive by they would have fired more shots but no that’s not what happened they fired once got their prey and left.
Blake – Wednesday – In today’s reading I read an article about human trafficking being second only to drugs in Mexico. In Mexico human trafficking is a fifteen billion to twenty billion dollars a year endeavor. Some cartels have come to rely more in recent years on human smuggling. Cartel involvement has increased the risk for migrants crossing through Mexico to get to the United States. An investigation by the commission showed that nine thousand seven hundred fifty eight migrants were abducted from September two thousand eight to February two thousand nine. That is about one thousand six hundred per month. For a fee ranging from eight hundred fifty to five thousand dollars a head a smuggler will deliver a migrant to the border of the United States or even offer to cross them.
Toni Ma'ree ; Monday : Today I was reading about this three year old girl who basically saves the life of her father . Friday , the father had collapsed at home in Manteca , California . Alesaundra Tafoya father Frank Tafoya that day had token a mixture of medication he wasn’t suppose to at the time . Frank had a bed time dose and suddenly collapsed . Alesaundra then walked two blocks away to go to Fire Station 243 and told a firemen that he dad was “frozen” and wouldn’t wake up . Firemen told that he worked there for over 20 years and it was the first time that a three year old went up to the fire station for help. So , Alesaundra got help and took them to her house where her father was sitting in the living room , needing that medical care. The parents of Alesaundra taught her where safe places were and what to do when something happens so that’s exactly what the girl did and doctors said that without the help of the daughter Frank the father would have died.
