According to the San Diego Union Tribune this morning I read about the man charged with the slaying of a police officer is sentenced to a life term. A gang member who killed the Oceanside police officer Dan Bessent was sentenced yesterday to life in prison without the chance of parole. Meki Gaono, 20, was convicted with murder at the first degree in a murder that occurred in late 2006 in the shooting death of Bessent. In court Gaono wiped his tears away in front of the judge as his sister spoke. The judge gave him the maximum sentence even though he showed remorse while his partner in crime Penifoti Taeotui did not show any time of emotion. The jury also charged him with assault with a deadly weapon for firing at officer Karina Pina who was with Bessent at the traffic stop but was not wounded. One charge of assault with a deadly weapon was dropped. He got this one because there was a civilian in the car of the police. There was not sufficient evidence to say the gang member was also shooting to hit the civilian.
Today I read about 11 bodies that were found inside a stolen SUV. The police in Mexico city found 11 bodies inside of an abandon stolen car. This happened yesterday in the border state of Sonora. The 11 men were all shot to death. Nine of the men had their hands and their feet cut off. The killing happened because of drug trafficking that had been battling for control of the region. They were found in a sports utility vehicle that was from Arizona.
Interesting Facts- A threatening message was left with the bodies but prosecutors did not say what the message said.
My Opinion- I think that the people who did this are sick in the head and have serious issues. To be TECHNICAL they should get the death penalty. They should at least do a SUFFICIENT amount of time like 100 years. The court better do a PROFICIENT job in finding the killers.

In today’s paper I read about how a gang member who killed Oceanside Officer Dan Bessant was sentenced to life in prison without the chance of parole. Meki Gaono, 20, convicted of first degree murder in the 2006 shooting, wiped tears off his face as the sentencing was being read by Superior Court Judge Runston Maino. Prosecutors said that Gaono, and the other shooter Penifoti Taeotui, were drinking outside a house and began firing at the officers a SIFFICIENT amount of times. The search of Gaono’s property was quite PROFICIENT, and eventually led to the finding of the .22-caliber rifle that was used to kill Officer Bessant. In another story, actor David Carradine was found dead yesterday in his hotel suite in Bangkok, Thailand. Thai authorities did confirm that they found Carradine’s body, naked, and hanging from a rope in the closet. Although the TECHNICAL aspects of the case are treating it as a suicide, Carradine’s manager believes this was not the case. His manager told officials that the actor was working, had a family, and was happy. As a young actor, Carradine had a reputation for being headstrong and difficult. He was also an admittedly free-wheeling child of the 1960s, a partaker of psychedelic drugs who had occasional run-ins with the law. In another story, a municipal police officer assigned to a rural area was found shot to death east of the city of Ensenada. The body of Jose Osvaldo Gomez, 42, was found shortly after 10 p.m. off an unpaved road near the community of Ojos Negros. Gomez was the first municipal police officer killed this year in Ensenada. In my opinion, sentencing Gaono to life without parole is real justice. He shot and killed a police officer and he is getting what he deserves. Although I believe the punishment to be fair, it would hurt to go ahead and sentence the scumbag to death. The David Carradine case is obviously a suicide, and his manager is stupid to think otherwise. What, did the stupid actor accidentally fall into a already tide rope hanging from his closet. The death of a police officer is always very sad, and disturbing news. There are so many heartless people out there, and it is a shame when officer must pay the price.
Today I read about a boy that testifies about being shot by an off-duty S.D officer. A 10 year-old boy who was shot by an officer last year testified in court yesterday that he saw the gun pointed at him moments before the shooting. The boy said he screamed to his mother that the man had a gun. The Vista Superior Court that same in second day of trial for Officer Frank White, 29, who wounded the boy and his mother, Rachel Silva, March 15, 2008, in Oceanside. Authorities said Silva was the aggressor in a road rage incident that started in a parking lot about 9:15 p.m. White was with his wife, when he shot Silva twice in the right arm and her son once in the left leg. The officer is charged with one felony count grossly negligent discharge of a fireman and one misdemeanor count of exhibiting a firearm. He faces up to nine years in prison if convicted. Silva, 29, has pleaded guilty to felony child endangerment and misdemeanor drunken driving and is scheduled to be sentenced next month. The boy cried as he recall the shooting. He said he could tell the gun was a revolver because he had seen that kind while playing games. The San Diego Union Tribune is not naming the boy because he is a child.
