In today’s paper I read about how Iran's government Tuesday banned foreign media from covering rallies in Tehran being held in the wake of last week's disputed presidential election. The decision comes after video footage emerged showing violence at demonstrations in support of opposition leader Mir Hossein Moussavi. Moussavi has contested the results of Friday's election, which showed an overwhelming victory for hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Moussavi's supporters have taken to the streets, often clashing with police and Ahmadinejad's. In another story, David Letterman has been taking some heat and issuing some apologies for the off-color joke he made last week about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's daughter, but he found a sympathetic critic in comedian Jeff Foxworthy on Monday. Letterman joked last Tuesday that Palin's "daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez" at a recent Yankees game, stirring up an angry reaction from the Palin family. Letterman has since apologized twice for what he called "inappropriate" humor. Foxworthy said it's probably time to forgive and forget. In another story, I read about how the number of VALID, uprooted people across the world dropped slightly last year, but new displacement this year in conflict zones like Pakistan, Somalia and Sri Lanka so far "has already more than offset the decline," the U.N. refugee agency said Tuesday. This is one of the main points in Global Trends, an ANNUAL report by the U.N. agency on developments regarding refugees, internally displaced people, asylum seekers and stateless people. The number of refugees and internally displaced people who returned home in 2008 was around 2 million, a decline from 2007, the report said. Refugee repatriation, which was 604,000, was down 17 percent. Displaced people's returns were down by 34 percent at 1.4 million people. In another story, recession impacts kids' summer plans. Dowd's 9-year-old son Caden's only camp plans include a week at roller hockey camp for $100, which includes the cost of ADEQUATE equipment. It's a far cry from 2008, when just one of his camps, involving video-game developing, had a $1,000 price tag. We can't afford to do that," said Dowd, a San Jose, California-based fundraising consultant for nonprofit agencies. "This year, we just thought it's been so crazy that we're going to throw that to the wind."
In the news today, a kid by the age of seventeen killed his mother and wounded his minister father, over a video game called Halo 3. The judge had ADEQUATE evidence that the child had obsession with video games with violent themes. Daniel Petric was sentences to prison for 23 years. At court, Daniel still didn’t have a VALID reason why he did something so terrible . Petric was convicted of shooting his parents in October 2007 after they took the game "Halo 3" away from him . He thought ANNUAL death in the game and that his mother was going to stay alive or death wasn't real . The defense claimed his age and addiction to the game made him less responsible. In the video game "Halo 3," players shoot alien monsters that have taken over the Earth.
Palin 2012 ?!
Let's hope this is the end of the David Letterman - Sarah Palin feud. While last week Letterman apologized, it was in a snarky sort of way, and wasn't accepted by Palin...

Today I read about a serial cat killer. A teenager is being held on 19 counts of animal cruelty for a month long killing spree of cats. The boy Tyler Hayes Weinman, 18 he is also charged with 19 counts of improper disposal of dead animals. Pet owners and police began discovering dead cats May 13. This happened in two different towns where Tyler stays at both towns altogether 19 cats were mutilated and killed. Some of the pet owners even found her cat partially skinned.
Interesting Facts- Tyler faces up to 158 years in state prison.
My Opinion- I think that boy is a psycho and has serious problem he needs some crazy pills I think he should be locked up for the rest of his life and he deservers worse punishment. The judge had a VALID reason to lock him up forever. Tyler will probably not have an ADEQUATE amount of money to make bail. The owner of the pets will probably visit their pets grave ANNUALY.
