In today’s Union Tribune newspaper for June 30, 2009, I read that an ex- officer who had issued a ticket had exchanged it for sex. Former California High Way patrol, Abram Carabajal, 52 years old, had served as an officer for 26 years now. He is charged with a bribe by a witness. The woman he had sex with was Shirin Zarrindej who is 48 years old is charged with suborning perjury and bribing a witness. They were both DESPITE the fact what they did was against the law, and it was wrong. Two officers had followed Cab=rarajal and Zarrindej in separate cars to a hotel. Then when Carabajal left, the officers confronted Zarrindej and she had admitted that they had sex. Investigators also had discovered that Carabajal and Zarrindej both talked on the phone for more than 13 hours after the ticket had been issued. My opinion to this news is grossed out, because what they did was so wrong.
In today’s paper I read about how after his five-month loan to Italian superclub AC Milan, David Beckham is expected back with the Los Angeles Galaxy and scheduled to play on July 16 against the New York Red Bulls at Giants Stadium. But when he takes the field the mood will be far less giddy than the one that heralded his arrival in the U.S. in 2007. In Beckham's two years with the Galaxy he has successfully sold jerseys and served as celebrity eye candy, but the soccer story has been an epic disaster, from his injury-plagued season in '07 through a loss-filled campaign in '08. Beckham's side made sure he became team captain, and later they engaged in a behind-the-scenes takeover of Galaxy management. Yet L.A. failed to reach the MLS playoffs both years. By the end of the '08 season Beckham was barely speaking to his teammate Landon Donovan, MLS's leading scorer, who questioned the Englishman's commitment to the team. The Beckham Experiment is a story of worlds colliding, bringing together the planet's most famous athlete with teammates who earned as little as $12,900 a year. But that inequity was only the start of a downward spiral that, on the eve of Beckham's return, has turned into a soccer fiasco. Beckham really did manage to disappoint all of those who thought he was really in it to improve soccer in the United States. In my opinion, Beckham should not be allowed to rejoin the Galaxy because I am sure, to the fans, they are not welcoming him.
Today I read about the El Cajon Superior Court jury had been asked to decided whether Rices should be executed or sent to prison for life without the possibility of parole. Rices pleaded guilty in October to two counts of first-degree murder and admitted that he shoot Mattia and Eiso during a robbery at Granada Liquor Store on Broadway ,. I think he should get the death sentence because he shouldn’t have killed any body and he shouldn’t be robbing a liquor store I think they should get executed because he took two people life why should he still get the chance to be alive
Today I read about how the county Board of Supervisors approved a $308.5 million plan to replace Las Colinas Detention Facility with a 1,216-bed jail on 45 acres in Santee. Supervisors voted to certify an environmental report and approve building a 1,216-bed jail on 45 acres of county-owned land in the center of the East County city. Construction on jail is expected to be done in 2014. A majority of supervisors agreed that the 1960’s era jail needs replacing and that the existing site is the best place to do it. Supervisor Greg Cox said that they had to make a decision and that they know they have a horrible facility right now that should have been replaced years and years ago. A resident named Elaine Murphy, 84, who has lived in Santee for nearly 20 years said that she thinks it seems to her that they are rewarding those that break the law and punishing the people who live in Santee. This pissed me off because its not like they gone build a luxury hotel for the detainees to stay at. Even though they committed crimes that don’t mean they aren’t humans. Many residents are acting like building a bigger jail, that is going to affect the people. Residents just need to shut up because if they were locked up they would at least want to be locked up in a decent jail!
Today I read about a teen that sued a cop for 3 million dollars. The teen had been shot by a cop. The teens name is Regina Jennings she was shot under her armpit. In the morning of June 18, 2008 outside of a local convenience store. She is now 17 but she was shot because she refused to put down her air rifle. The mom said that you can tell by the gunshot wound that she obviously had her arm in the air. Regina was not charged for anything.
Interesting Facts- She was trying to conceal the weapon under a blanket.
My Opinion – I think that the police are all crooked and that they are horrible people. Police don’t deserve respect or to be treated like people. The judge will probably look at this in a different DIMENSION. DESPITE everything I hope she wins. The cops are not DOMESTICATED people.
