Today’s article was about a man who admitted to killing his wife. He was an 85 year old man and he killed his 55 year old wife with an axe Then he called the Sheriffs Department to report his crime. When deputies arrived to the scene they found his wife with multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The motive in the slaying was not clear. This is a crazy topic I don’t understand first of all how some one could kill someone, second with an axe and on top of that his own wife. You have to be sick in the head to do something like this.

Today I read in the newspaper how much of the high profile players of the NFL want Michael Vick to be re instated immediately. For instance Terrell Owens said that roger goodell was treating Michael Vick unfairly. He then later said that if they don’t reinstate him immediately without suspending him for four games it would be like kicking a dead horse in the ground. I believe that these statements are all very true and reasonable. Michael Vick served 2 years in prison for dog fighting and I think it would be highly unfair to continue punishing him. He served his time and paid his debt to society. Also I believe that we all deserve second chances even if you are a high profile football player like Michael Vick. Michael Vick still has a lot of talent and career left in him it would be a shame for him not to play professional football.

What I read in today’s San Diego news was about teens arrested aboard due to smuggling. A coast guard crew spotted the small private boat off of the coast of southern San Diego, and decided to escort the boat to Shelter Island so the three teens would report to the U.S Customs and Border Protection. Inside the boat were three teenagers one 18 and 19 year old men, and one 19 year old woman. As the boat docked San Diego bay, agents EXAMINED the boat with a service dog. The dog sniffed and ANALYZED the back of the boat. There they found 277 packages of cannabis weighing a total of 1,060 pounds. The cannabis DERIVED from Mexico. The three young U.S citizens were arrested and turned over to U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement for charges. My opinion to this news is that those people were young to be trying to smuggle in drugs.

This morning I read an article about an 8 year old Liberian girl who lives in Phoenix. She was raped by four boys on July 16th in a shed and now her parents say they don’t want her. Prosecutors have charged a 14 year old Liberian refugee as an adult and three other boys are 9-13 are being held in juvenile court. The girl’s father told a police officer and a Child protective Services worker who was investigating the attack, that he didn’t want her anymore. I think this story is very weird and I don’t understand how her family could just give her away, especially after she has been through rape. I think that the fathers mental health should be EXAMINED. I think it is strange that all four suspect and the family of the girl are form Liberia. This story is really weird.

Today I read about a reward posted in sailor’s ’06 slaying. Tracy Wild said her son was willing to die for his country but no the way he did. Ron Harnish, a Navy supply clerk who had recently qualified for SEAL training, was shot after he got out of a car to confront apparent gang members on a sidewalk in Golden Hill three Decembers ago. He was 22 years old. No one has been arrested in the case. A billboard recently went up near the shooting site, offering a $55,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Harnish’s death. Wild said that they just feel that there is someone out there who knows something and if they come forward they can solve this. Harnish and two other sailors were in a car on 30th Street, near C Street, about 10 p.m. on December 27, 2006, when they stopped to confront two or three men who were flashing gang signs. Harnish got out of the car and was moving toward the men when he was shot with a rifle. Another sailor was wounded. They are hoping the money will motivate someone to come forward.

In today’s paper I read about the EU fast track testing of swine flu. in a drive to inoculate people against swine flu before winter many European government’s say they will fast track the testing of a vaccine arousing concern among some experts about safety and proper doses. The European medicines agency the Eu’S top drug regulatory body is accelerating the approval process for swine flu vaccine and country’s such as Britain, Greece France they start using the vaccine after it’s green lighted possibly within week’s. flu vaccine’s have been used for 40 years and mane experts say extensive testing is unnecessary because the swine flu vaccine will simply contain a new ingredient the swine flu virus. Everyone is doing the best they can in a situation which is far from ideal said martin Harvey all church a spokesman for the European medicine agency. The united states is taking it more cautious the testing's begin next month for the swine flu. Now that the summers almost over their scared that in the winter this might kill thousands of people. The swine flu killed a few people but there hoping that this flu don’t go further than that to prevent swine flu you need to wash your hands as many times as you can try to keep them clean as possible and stay away from dirty things. They really hope this vaccine does something for these people and like I said their going to start giving them next month .results from the US test will be of limited use to Europe because countries such as Britain plan to start vaccinating as early as they can before any American trial data is available

There are the usual rubber-stamp qualifiers -- it's only summer league, he's the No. 10 pick and should impress -- except that Brandon Jennings is not the usual marquee choice and this is not the usual offseason for the Milwaukee Bucks and point guards. These were five games in Las Vegas that meant something.
The statistics (8.2 assists per game to tie Marcus Williams for the tournament lead, 14.6 points, 37.9 percent from the field, 42.9 percent on threes), should, of course, be disregarded. The meaningful reads were that Jennings carried himself well in the way he interacted with teammates and his attention to getting others involved in the offense, factors that make it easier for the Bucks to officially begin the point-guard transition from the opening of training camp.
They would be important considerations in tracking any rookie who might be immediately thrust into a starting role, especially at 19 years old and at point guard, but Jennings pushes beyond any typical debate regarding on-court development. He pushes a lot of things, actually -- pushes the ball at blur speed, pushes the envelope.

Today in the Union Tribune I read an article called, With Caution Goodell Makes the Right Call, this article is about How Roger Goodell reinstated Michael Vick. It talks about how he is being careful with his reinstatement and putting a lot of conditions. I think that he did the right thing by reinstating Michael Vick because Michael seems to regret what he did and we all deserve second chances. I also think that in a few weeks if not a few days we will be hearing of a team signing him. A lot of teams need his type of publicity to fill up stadiums and sell merchandise. Even though a lot of people may not agree with the commissioner's decision they got to realize that Michael already served his time and shouldn’t be continually punished. Like the commissioner said the NFL shouldn’t be about cutting short the football careers of talented players. Michael Vick is only 28 and still has a lot of years of football left in him.
