Monday- today I read an article about a stabbing. The article stated that a thirteen year old girl was stabbed by a jealous boyfriend. The boy is fourteen so his name was with held. The whole situation was on the reason that the boy found out about another boy. The two apparently have a one year old child together. This happened on the 400 hundred block of B avenue in National City. The teen surrendered and police booked him into juvenile hall. The boy was found by a friend on the border of San Diego and National City. This was a sad article because they are so young. I am really shocked at the two because they already have a child. I think that when you are young and get together with a partner it will most likely not work out because of jealousy. I leaned that even kids these days are having domestic arguments and having children.
MONDAY-- Nine years ago a tragic even happened at Granite Hills High School. Recognition is still praised to the El Cajon police officer that helped relieve the deadly situation. His name is Rich Agundez. He is now 50 years old. He retired the year of the horrific incident. Jason Hoffman, the eighteen year old gunman, came to school with the intentions of murder on his mind. He shot two teachers and three of his fellow students. Agundez had to shoot Hoffman in able to apprehend of weapon, and Hoffman. Hoffman committed suicide after seven months of being incarcerated. Agundez is now working on a new safety plan for when this disaster happens. It will help students in the time of panic and how to react to the situation. I feel this is very bold for him to still be willing to help relieve the situation, and to give his own time in doing this. I think Hoffman made a horrible mistake at his life, and should have talked to somebody before trying this outrageous act. I think schools should have more programs where students are able to express themselves freely, and know that how they feel is safe. A reassuring environment would make a world of difference.
Monday- In today’s news, a 55-year-old man dies after being stung 500 times by swarming bees as he used a backhoe to clear brush from property in a rural area of Encinitas. The man was allergic to bee stings and died at a hospital. The backhoe struck a nest of honeybees that was in a brush on the ground. He noticed a couple bees coming back to sting him and he got off the tractor and ran away to seek shelter from the attack. Firefighters found him in full cardiac arrest. The nephew stated he was stung a couple times but declined to be taken to the hospital.
monday ! This morning I read about how agent orange is causing Vietnamese to be born with many defects. Thirty five years after the Vietnam war a 300 million price tag has been placed on the most contentious legacy, agent orange. A U.S panel and Vietnamese panel got together to take action. Together they released an action plan urging the U.S government and other donors to donate 30 million a year to help clean up the places that still contain agent orange. They are asking for 30 million dollars, for over 10 years. The donations will also be used to help pay for the suffering of the Vietnamese people who have disabilities. Agent orange was dumped into the area by the U.S military over the South Vietnamese to destroy their crops, and jungle cover shielding communist guerilla fighters. I think that a lot of countries suffer, and the U.S, usually has a small part, or a big part to do with it. I am glad that they made that action.
Monday- Today I read about Kayla Berg was thrilled to return last August to Antigo, Wisconsin, where she looked forward to competing on the high school gymnastics team. Her mother, Hope Sprenger, said she agreed to move Kayla, 15, and her older brother, Jimmy, back to the small town where they were raised. They had moved three months earlier to Texas, but Kayla and her brother were homesick. We were going to try and start a new life, but Kayla missed her friends. She was very upset that they didn't have gymnastics team at the high school in Texas. The return home also meant Kayla and her brother would spend time with their father and grandparents, who lived five miles away. We left it pretty open, Sprenger said about the living arrangement that allowed Kayla and Jimmy to stay with either parent. They could ride bikes, or we'd take them back and forth. Sometimes Kayla walked, or ran, between her parent's homes to get in shape for gymnastics.
monday In today's news I read about seven Colombian national police officers were killed Sunday in an attack by suspected guerrillas in northern Colombia. The police were engaged in a routine patrol near the city of Tibu when they were ambushed by an explosive device. The National Liberation Army, or ELN, guerrillas operate in the area and were suspected of being behind the attack. In a separate incident in the south of the country, three soldiers were killed in a confrontation with FARC guerrillas. The attacks come on Colombia's election day, where a runoff will decide who will succeed President Alvaro Uribe, who held a tough stance against the guerrilla groups.
monday- A man dies after being stung 500 times in bee attack. A 55-year-old man died Wednesday after he was stung more than 500 times by swarming bees as he used a backhoe to clear brush from property in a rural area of eastern Encinitas. The man was allergic to the bee stings and died at the hospital. He was working with his 20 year old nephew, who was in a dumb truck when this attack happened. I predict the hospital couldn’t do much to help this man. The 20 year old boy imposed his uncle’s name not to be released to the press. The article integrated some of the man’s hobbies in the story.
tuesday- Voters in Fremont, Nebraska passed a much-debated immigration measure Monday that would prohibit businesses and landlords from hiring or renting to illegal immigrants. The ordinance had divided the community and put the eastern Nebraskan city into national headlines. The American Civil Liberties Union has indicated it will file a lawsuit. In Hazelton, voters in 2006 approved a measure to enact practically the same law that Fremont has voted to adopt. But in July 2007, a federal judge found that immigration laws should be left solely to the federal government. I predict this law will be voided. Only the federal government laws can impose laws such as these. Nebraska is now going to integrate racial profiling into their laws, which isn’t right.
Tuesday During today's reading I read an article about peanuts on a plane. A mother didn’t want to get on a plane because she worried that her daughter may be harmed due to her allergy to the food. Now the U.S. department of transportation is coming up with a proposal protecting these kind of people. If there was an incident with allergies on the air plane it would force the plane to go into an emergency landing in lord knows were. I think this is a harmful problem but not that harmful. They have to think about the how many people has ever had a allergic reaction. Not that many people so its not that big of a deal to me.
Tuesday- Today I read about A 5-year-old Rolando boy was found dead in a backyard swimming pool on Father's Day. Nicholas Norman was discovered floating face-down in the pool behind a next-door neighbor's home on the 4000 block of Loma Alta Drive on Sunday evening. Neighbors on the quiet street finished dinner Sunday night only to find out horrifying news. It really was a horrible way to end a beautiful Father's Day, said Carlos Jaime who lives just across the street. I saw our friend Greg coming out of the backyard soaking wet, crying. I feel so bad for this father because he had to be the one who discovered his own son face down and dead in the pool area. I hope that the family will be okay and especially to the father.
Tuesday- today I read an article that kind of made me laugh. The reason was that there were a couple of police officers that were chased by a swarm of bees. The police officers were chased by bees after looking for a auto theft suspect. They were looking for the man in a canyon but accidentally found some bees. The suspect was later found and arrested. The police officers were taken to the emergency room for minor wounds. The police officers had a good rush and were happy to have found the suspect. The driver was said to have been pulled over and took off running. This was a good article but I think that the police officers thing was funny. I think that the suspect is probably sitting in jail laughing his butt off. The article made me laugh and I think that the cops deserved it. I learned that even police officers get hurt by nature.
WEDNESDAY-- Twilight saga Eclipse is coming to theaters on June 30th. It is predicted to pose a threat towards all the other major releases this year, and to blow them out the water. Bella’s character is really excited about the release, as is everybody involved in the making of Eclipse. There will be a special viewing of just the first two movies of the twilight saga this week. The major release of Eclipse is said to be the biggest and best reviewed movie of the year. Jacob is excited about the kissing scene between him and Bella. Edward thinks the movie will attract many older fans. It is more appealing for older people, and has a great love line. It is a love triangle between Bella, Jacob, and Edward. I will definitely see this movie. I would say I am a part of the twilight movement, and can’t wait to see how well this movie does. I would like to go on the big release day, but I don’t want to wait in line for 6 days waiting. I feel mayhem will break loose the day of Eclipse’s release.
Wednesday- today I read an article about a man molesting pedestrians. The man was said to be barefoot. He was running around exposing himself to young and old woman. He was said to have gone up to a seventeen year old girl and pull her skirt off. He also exposed himself to a senior citizen. This happened in north county by Escondido. The man is still being searched for he was wearing a grayish tee shirt. The man will be charged for disturbing the peace and have to register as a sex offender, This was a good article because the man was going crazy. I think that the man was on drugs because no one does that sober. The police are dumb because they didn’t find the man after he did that. I learned that the police don’t get their suspects all the time.
Wednesday- Today I read about A 19-year-old man charged in nine robberies in the county, including five in which he is accused of placing cashiers in a chokehold, will be arraigned Wednesday in San Diego Superior Court. Tykeem De Shawn Nelson, 19, of Hemet, was arrested about 2 a.m. Monday when he was returning to his vehicle in National City. San Diego FBI spokesman Darrell Foxworth said Nelson is charged with robbing four banks, starting May 28 at Bank of America on El Cajon Boulevard near Marlborough Avenue in San Diego. He also is accused of robbing Chase Bank on College Avenue near El Cajon Boulevard in San Diego on June 7 Chase Bank on E. Plaza Boulevard near L Avenue in National City on June 15 and US Bank on H Street near Fourth Avenue in Chula Vista on Friday. Nelson is also charged in five commercial robberies in which he is accused of placing cashiers in a chokehold. National City police were investigating a report of domestic violence in which Nelson was a suspect when they determined he was also a robbery suspect. Police detectives and members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force then began watching his vehicle. I think that this guy is crazy for doing all these robberies in the same neighborhood
wednesday- A nutrition watchdog group is threatening to sue McDonald's if the fast-food giant won't stop using toys to lure children to its Happy Meals. The Center for Science in the Public Interest said Tuesday that it has served McDonald's notice of its intent to sue over what it says is unfair and deceptive marketing. "McDonald's is the stranger in the playground handing out candy to children," CSPI's litigation director, Stephen Gardner, said in a prepared statement. "It's a creepy and predatory practice that warrants an injunction." In its notice letter, CSPI says that McDonald's toy-related promotions violate state consumer protection laws in four states and the District of Columbia. The letter gives McDonald's 30 days to agree to stop the practice before a suit is filed. I don’t agree with this lawsuit that is going to be filed. McDonalds is not trying to impose anything offensive, they are just trying to integrate something good for the children, in my opinion. I predict McDonalds is going to keep selling toys, as they have been doing for decades, with no complaints.
Thursday- Today I read an article about a man who ran over his roommate. The man said he was pulling out of his driveway when he felt a thump. He then got out and noticed that it was his roommate who had passed out on the driveway. The roommate was taken to the hospital and only suffered a few broken bones. The other roommate was not cited and left alone. The victim was suffering from a broken collar bone and two broken ribs. The suspect was pulling out at around 5:55 A.M. The victim was taken by medics immediately. This was a sad article but I think that the victim deserved that. The other man must feel so bad about what he did. I think that when you have a roommate like that you should drop him immediately before something worst happens. I learned that sometimes accidents happen even at the most random times.
THURSDAY-- Cancer may be prevented by coffee. It helped lower the statistics of head and neck cancers in the people tested. The risk of developing head and neck cancer was twelve percent lower. This is only including non-smokers. People who smoke will always be at high risk for cancer. The more coffee you drink the more the cancerous cells stay away. It is showed the more gulps of coffee is that the risk was reduced by more than a third. I would say for people to drink coffee more often. What would it really hurt. I was wondering though if it mattered how the coffee was made and if it had anything to do with the brand of coffee. Would it affect the way your body reacts to the coffee if it was Folgers or a big cup of coffee from Starbucks with thousands of calories???
Thursday- Today I read about a man accused of pipe- bombing an attack on a San Diego courthouse. This guy was a former city worker with a criminal history. I think that this guy isn’t very smart if he got caught for doing this. Donny Love is scheduled for arraignment Thursday. The 43-year-old Menifee man faces federal conspiracy and bombing charges stemming from the 2008 explosion of three nail-packed bombs outside the courthouse. Nobody was hurt. Three other people have pleaded guilty in the case. Love worked for the parks and water departments for nearly a decade but was fired in 2008 for missing too many workdays.
thursday- Mickey Mouse is about to welcome a bunch of new neighbors. Disney unveiled a luxury residential community on Wednesday, with about 30 homes currently for sale at the Disney World resort in Florida.
The community, called Golden Oak, sprawls across 980 acres and features single-family custom homes for between $1.5 and $8 million.Families who plunk down cash to live near Mickey and friends will have access to a private clubhouse, concierge service, a planned Four Seasons resort, a full service spa, a golf course and more.
The luxury homes are being built in phases, and the first wave will feature three options.
Village Homes "will capture the romantic look of a Mediterranean village" on one-quarter of an acre of land, Disney said; Estate Homes will be on one-half acre with "a variety of construction styles"; and Grand Estate homes, designed for large families, include up to three-quarters of an acre. I predict this will attract some problems. Whoever imposed this offer, is stupid. Who would want to live in Disneyland? Disneyland is now going to be fun for kids, integrated with rich people. How lame.
tuesday ! This morning I read about a 13 year old little girl who got stabbed by her boyfriend. Not only did the 13 year old get stabbed, but she had a baby at the young age of 13 by her 14 year old boyfriend. Police were called at about 12:35 a.m to B avenue near East 5th. The 14 year old boy lives with his parents. The girl was stabbed with a kitchen knife over some jealousy issues. The girl was taken to Rady Children's hospital, she is also expected to recover. The boy is was arrested on a Wednesday by detectives. He will probably face criminal charges, but will be treated as a juvenile. I think that this story is crazy. I don’t think little kids should even be in relationships. I think that teen relationships suck.
wednesday ! This morning I read about a man from Tijuana who was accused of faking to be an immigration officer or attorney to financially defraud undocumented immigrants was arraigned Tuesday in federal court. Armando Garcia, 58, was charged in a 16-count indictment. He was charged with mail fraud and identity theft. Elizabeth Alcocer, 47, who is accused of being his co-conspirator, was charged the same as Armando. She is in Albuquerque and will be brought to San Diego. The indictment, issued by a federal grand jury in San Diego on April 30, was unsealed Tuesday. The defendants were arrested Monday following a yearlong investigation by agents from U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement and the Department of Homeland Security. The defendants formed a company in 2001 called California Legal Services that operated out of Pico Rivera in Los Angeles County, authorities said. They posed as immigration officers or attorneys who could influence the actions of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the indictment said. They charged fees to undocumented immigrants who were trying to legally immigrate or legalize their status. The immigrants thought they were being legally represented. The defendants collected fees totaling more than $120,000 from 11 victims, and their may be even more victims. I think what these people did was very smart, but now they have to pay sever consequences.
thursday ! This morning I read about a fire that was started on purpose. The fire was a half-acre of brush and was really close to reaching Spring Valley preschool . This incident occurred on Thursday, and the fire was extinguished by firefighters. The blaze was reported at 12:44 p.m. on Rothgard Road near Sweetwater Springs Boulevard. It threatened a Kinder Care Learning Center, which was evacuated, said San Miguel Fire Department spokesman Leonard Villarreal. Sheriff’s deputies have detained some people that might have been the cause of this fire. “The fire did run right up to the playground. It was a small fire, but it created a lot of potential for danger” A beehive was disturbed by the fire, and firefighters had to spray foam on the bees in order to get close to the fire. I think that it is so stupid for someone to start a fir eon purpose. I am also kind of mad about his story because my mom used to work at a preschool in Spring Valley. I also wonder how the police have even figured out who could possible be responsible fir this.
friday ! This morning I read about a 19 year old who was a suspect in 9 robberies. Out of 9 robberies he was accused of putting cashiers in chokehold at least 5 times. Tykeem De Shawn Nelson, who is from Hemet, was arrested about 2 a.m. He was arrested Monday while he was returning to his vehicle in National City. Tykeem is charged with robbing four banks. He began robbing banks on May 28. Tykeem robbed Bank of America on El Cajon Boulevard. He also robbed the Chase Bank on College Avenue near El Cajon Boulevard in San Diego on June 7; Chase Bank on E. Plaza Boulevard near L Avenue in National City on June 15; and US Bank on H Street near Fourth Avenue in Chula Vista on Friday. Tykeem will be arraigned on the robbery counts and a domestic violence charge of inflicting corporal injury. He is also being held without bail in the downtown San Diego jail. I do not know what it is, but to me it seems as if there is way to many robberies going on. I am surprised even teenagers are robbing banks to. I think that banks need to do something drastic about their security.
Thursday- Military police at Fort Gordon have arrested a civilian for impersonating a soldier after "possible grenades" were found in his vehicle on base. The Fort Gordon and Richmond County bomb squads were called to a remote location on the base after a search of the vehicle the man had been driving uncovered "several possible grenades". The FBI is leading the investigation. Authorities believe the man may have been involved in earlier thefts of military equipment at Fort Gordon. A report of a suspicious person on the base Tuesday afternoon led military police to the suspect.
Friday- In today’s news, a 9-year old boy was injured when he was hit by a pickup in front of a fast-food restaurant yesterday. The boy was flown by helicopter to Rady Children’s Hospital and was being treated for serious head injuries. He was his by the truck about 2:45 p.m. as he ran west across South Rancho Santa Fe Road near Descanso Avenue. The driver of the truck stayed at the scene after hitting the child authorities it was not his fault., authorities are asking witnesses to call their hotline.
Monday- Today I read about a man who died after being stung 500 times in a bee attack. A 55 year old man died Wednesday after he was stung by a swarm of bees , he used a backhoe to clear brush from property in the rural area of the eastern Encinitas . The man was allergic to bees and died at the hospital, he was working with his 20 year old nephew on a property and he noticed a couple of bees coming towards him and next thing you know he was running and was stung by a lot of bees which caused him to die later on in the hospital .
Tuesday-Today I read about 200 people in China who died from a flood and more than 120 people are missing from the flood. About 2.3 million people had to evacuate and 195,000 houses have collapsed. In addition 3.95 million acres have been destroyed which destroyed many crops. Officials have set up tents and small shelters for people to stay during the flooding and due to damages they will have a high amount to pay.
Wednesday- Today I read about more than 600 hundred people that are missing in brazil were heavy rain has lead to 42 deaths and left thousands of residents homeless. The death toll has not increased but many people are still injured. Videos show the water rushing through city streets and more than 380 people were injured or ill. Reporters say many people were frightened and scared and struggling for there lives. Unfortunately many are still dead and injured officials are doing everything to help out.

Thursday-
Military police at Fort Gordon have arrested a civilian for impersonating a soldier after "possible grenades" were found in his vehicle on base.
Friday-

The boy was flown by helicopter to Rady Children’s Hospital and was being treated for serious head injuries. Tuesday-Today I read about 200 people in China who died from a flood and more than 120 people are missing from the flood. About 2.3 million people had to evacuate and 195,000 houses have collapsed. In addition 3.95 million acres have been destroyed which destroyed many crops.
