According to the san diego union tribune a teenage nephew of the Mexican army general was killed over the weekend in Baja California's continuing violence. The teenager, 16, was shot to death in the south side of the city. teen was the nephew of Gen. Alfonso Duarte Mújica, commander of the 2nd Military Zone and a leading figure in the fight against drug cartels in northwest Mexico. State police officer also was killed during the weekend during a gun battle on the streets. The officer was injured and died short after. Also slayings included a man burned to death in Tijuana and two decapitated bodies found in an empty lot in the city.
What I read today In CNN was about a school bus overturned and injured some students. A car slid into a school bus carrying about 50 students on an icy rural road in Madison County Wednesday morning, injuring several students. A student who was on board said a car slid into the path of the bus and the vehicles collided head-on, causing the bus, packed with middle and high school students, to fall onto its side. What I think about this article is that theirs dumb people that don’t know how to drive and they don’t care whether they injured other people or not. Is the reason why they should take driving lessons. The fact that the car causing the accident to students he should at least get incarcerated.
Today I read about the god father of basketball and life. The legend Pete Newell was an icon, loved by everyone. He touched everybody who has ever played basketball. He was a caring, loving, selfless man who was a coach of not just basketball but life. Pete Newell made you feel good about the game and he made you feel good about life. The outpouring of love for him today is a tribute both to him and his accomplishments and the accomplishments of all those he touched. Reflection- it sucks when someone that influenced a lot of people and touched a lot of people is gone. I think that’s why god sent him to earth to influence a lot of people about basketball, love, and life.
The article I read this morning was about a 17 year old boy that was being held captive. The name of the teenager was not released. The boy arrived to a gym telling the employees to hide him. The assistant manager said she checked her cameras because at first she though it was just a joke. The boy arrived to the gym with just his boxers on and he had a chain wrapped around his ankle. The chain had a padlock on it. Kelly Lau-Schumacher, 30, and her husband, Michael Schumacher, 34, are the couple that had this boy held in captive. They are now under custody and being charged with one charge each of torture, kidnapping, false imprisonment, child endangerment, and corporal injury to a child.
I think that these people are sick. I don’t understand how there could be so many cruel people out in the world like these. They even had children of there own and it was a very bad example that they gave them.
An interesting fact that I read was that one of the employees from the gym said that the boy looked the boy looked emaciated, bruised, and scared.
