Today Thursday the 22 of June the first day President Barak Obama halted a lot of new last minute policies put in place my the Bush administration. He also had a meeting with top military officials to discuss a withdrawal of troops from Iraq. In the early hours of being president he called top Middle Eastern leaders to extend a hand of peace and to try to stabilize the situation in Gaza. The conflict in Gaza has came to and end leaving nearly 1300 dead. Today the rest of the Israeli troops withdrew but only to have naval gun fire upon the Gaza beach. Hopefully this cease fire will be a long lasting durable one that will leave peace in the small region. Even though people said the offensive was unnecessary and did not solve anything some see it different.
Today I read about a woman that pleads not guilty to accessory after murder. Amy Jo Mitchell was arraigned yesterday on several charges including being an accessory after a murder in connection with the death of her grandmother. She pleaded not guilty on the North County Courts yesterday. Some of her other charges were elder theft and drug possession. Prosecutors say Amy withdrew about 70,000 from the bank accounts belonging to her grandmother. Officials say they didn’t find evidence linking to Mitchell to the actual killing. Mitchells boyfriend, Jeff Nolan, confessed to his stepfather that he killed Beggs before killing himself in Riverside County. Nolan and Mitchell had three children together and suspected that Beggs called CPS on them. Yesterday Judge Adrienne Orfield increased Mitchells bail from 364,000 to 500,000. a bail review is set for February 2.
I don’t understand why people kill their own family. Well I guess you can get really mad at them to the point of killing. But like is not worthy people are just stupid and dumb.
Today in the San Diego Union Tribune I read about seven smoke shops being raided by the police department and sheriff deputies. The countywide raid began in late October of last year. No arrest were made yesterday but the search warrants were served. They did obtain about 15,000 pieces of evidence. The three major shops targeted were Puff-N-Stuff, Vishions, Up In Smoke, Joe's Tobacco and Illusions. The cops went in the shops hoping to find glass pipes and related items. The found those and more like drug paraphernalia that are illegal for sale. The shops prior to the raids had been sent letters warning them about certain products illegal for sell.
In today's paper I had read that state officials have awarded $250,000 in grants to the California department of parks and recreation for a trash removal system along the U.S./Mexico border. The money will be used to install the trash removal system. But state parks officials previously had designed and bought but had not used. The system will be installed in goat canyon tidal basins that trap sediment when it rains. They say the basins are very effective in capturing sediment but not the trash that can collect there and that washes away with the next big storm. They are hoping that that it is installed and operating within a few months.
The article i read today was about the guantanamo prison it is being closed because of oboma and all the prisoners are ether getting let go or they are just getting prosecuted or also getting trasfered to another prison but they still dont know if they are going to prosicute the others the cia dont know why oboma is closing it down but maybe it is the number of inmates and thats why they are getting trasfered well thats what i read today in my article.
