Today in the news I read that the Israeli troops are trying to speed up troop withdrawal out of Gaza after the death toll had reached over 1300. Other Middle Eastern countries are going to contribute to the rebuilding effort. Sources say Saudi Arabia is going to contribute 1 billion dollars to Gaza. Also I read about the history that is made today when the first African American president is sworn in as president. This comes over 400 years of African American oppression in the racially divided country. This is a momentous day where we can hopefully move forward in race relations. President Obama will take over in a time in economic crisis due to the short falls of the Bush administration.
The article I read this morning was about to elderly people who’s bodies were found inside their room. A relative who hadn’t been able to reach his family members decided to call police. When police showed up an elderly man answered the door allowing the officers to come inside. The officers looked around the house and found the bodies of an elderly man and woman. Police say they may have been dead for days. Their bodies were found in the same room. Their bodies showed great signs of trauma. The man who answered the door who is a relative of the people found dead wasn’t hurt and he wasn’t considered a suspect.
I don’t understand who could of done something to elderly people. They are people who can’t defend their selves like others. I hope they find whoever did this to them because it is unreasonable.
An interesting fact that I read was that it is not known if the two people found dead were married.
Today I read about how parents need to know that OTC medicine is not so healthy for the little kids. They now say not give them to kids under 4. drug companies say that OTC medicine do little good and that is not worth the risk. Dr. Brad Weselman believes OTC options not only pose a danger of an accidental overdose, but also a threat of side effects. The relevant subject of this has the parents concern. It has a complex that the scientist are trying to figure out. They say every year more than 7,000 children get rushed to emergency rooms every year because of adverse reactions to OTC cough and cold medicines. They say its not worth making them that they are other options like a humidifier, plenty of fluids, Vaseline and other types of methods.
