Today in the news R&B singer Chris Brown was charged with felony battery assault. Brown allegedly assaulted his girlfriend famed song writer and singer Rhianna. Brown supposedly pulled over and assaulted the singer leaving her bruises on her face. In other news Lil Wayne took home four Grammies. In world news Australian fires killed 173 people. The fire left 5000 people homeless and burnt down 750 homes. In Colombo a suicide bomber killed at least 38 people in a terrorist attack. In Iraq a suicide bomber killed 4 U.S soldiers this is continuing violence in Iraq.
Today in the newspaper I read about a surfer that was charged in a fatal wreck. The well-known big-wave surfer has been charged with gross vehicular manslaughter and two counts of felony DUI in connection with a car crash last year that killed his passenger. A $500,00 arrest warrant has been issued for Milton Willis, 52 of Solana Beach. Bradley Dillahunty,24 was the passenger that died in the crash in the early morning of June 6 in Del Mar. If convicted, Willis faces up to 11 years and eight months in prison. For several years, Willies and his twin brother, Michael have run WB Safe Surfing, a surfing camp in Solana Beach. I think he should spend some time in prison. He needs to take responsibility for his actions. He took peoples life because he was driving under the influence.
In today’s paper I had read that a carjacker takes a mans BMW at gunpoint. The carjacker approached the man just before 10 a.m. on 70th street near Amherst street toward la mesa. The car is a four door dark grey 2002 BMW 740i with tinted windows. The carjacker was described as a light-skinned Latino or possibly a white man about 35-40 years of age. In other news in imperial beach scientists from Scripps institution of oceanography during a public meeting tomorrow. In September and October, the la jolla based researchers will study the movement and dilation of contaminants along eh shoreline. Tomorrows meeting will start at 6 p.m. at the Dempsey holder safety center in imperial beach.
