Today in The sports section in The Union Tribune I read about SDSU’s Karoline Koehler won the long jump and qualified for the NCAA West Regional's at the Sea Ray Relays at the University Of Tennessee. Koehler won the long jump in a distance of 21 feet, 4 inches. UCSD’s women’s 4x100 relay team set a new school record at 46.75 seconds at the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational. The Tritons’ Scott Tsuda and Stephanie Lefever won the men’s triple jump and women’s long jump, with leaps of 48-2 and 18-9 respectively.
The article i read today was about this teacher that was arrested for kidnaping her student and then killing her the cops still dont know the motive of her actions of why when the sheriffs toke her in she was very calm at first then she would get very emotional then it would go back and forth the most horible part of this insadent was the way they found the little girl it was affol and the sheriffs said that how could any body do something like that to a little girl and not fell bad.
Today in the newspaper of Sunday, I read about a Sunday school teacher arrested in Tracy girl’s death. The police said yesterday that they don’t know what prompted the kidnapping and killing of an 8-year-old girl whose body was found in a suitcase dumped in an irrigation pond. Melissa Huckaby was arrested on Friday when she drove to a police station at the request of officers. She was being held without bail in connection with the death of Sandra Cantu. Sandra disappeared on March 27 and hundreds of volunteers and law enforcement officials turned out to search for her. On Monday, farm workers draining an irrigation pond found the suitcase. She seems to be mentally ill.
In today’s paper, I read about how a pilot and a passenger aboard a small airplane headed to Brown Field Municipal Airport were killed in a fiery crash in a outskirt area. The Piper Comanche APPLIED its full force to the hilly terrain shortly before 11 a.m., about eight miles northeast of Montgomery Field in San Diego. In another story, the nineteen American sailors who escaped a pirate hijacking off the Horn of Africa reached safe harbor yesterday. The LABOR force were happy to be safe but were also saddened because of their absence of the captain they hailed for sacrificing his freedom to save them. As the pirates opened fire, the Captain had told his team to lock themselves in a cabin so they would not CONTRACT any injuries, as he surrendered himself for his men. In another story, after a rise in crime in Tijuana some residents are being forced to higher their own private security guards. For the past couple of years violent crime in Tijuana has risen tremendously, partly the result of a federal crackdown on drug cartels. The private security system that is being utilized now is also likely the result of the astounding number of kidnappings in Tijuana in recent years. Victims of kidnappings in Tijuana, Rosarito Beach and Ensenada since 2005 have included several dozen San Diego County residents, most tied to Mexico through family or business.
