Today I have read about a former NFL quarterback named Michael Vick he has been reinstated into the National Football League. After serving his sentences for dog fighting Vick is getting his second chance in the NFL. He is glad that he is getting his chance back in the NFL and he glad that Tony Dungy has been a good mentor towards him and didn’t let him down at all. Vick kept his head up at all times during jail he said that he learned a lot from it and he regrets doing it. The 29 year old is waiting to get a contract from a team he just didn’t go out and try to negotiate yet with another team. I think that its good he is back into the league because he made a lot of fans pay attention to quarter backs he showed them that scrambling quarterback can make it good to in the NFL all you got to do is focus agree with the reinstated him because he was one of the first quarterbacks to scramble and pass for 1,000 yards.
Today I read in the Union Tribune: Cop Discusses Arrest of Professor. In this section I read about how a cop arrested an African American Harvard professor for “disorderly conduct” at the crime scene where someone had broken into his house. This is very controversial because of the race issue, some people are saying that the police officer arrested him just because of his race. Even Barrack Obama, the president of the United States, is saying that the police officer acted “stupidly.” I believe that race was a big factor in this arrest. The reason I say this is because I don’t think that a prominent Harvard professor would be acting disorderly at a crime scene. Another reason why I believe this is because that people had broken into Gates’ home. These are the reasons why I agree with the president’s remarks.
What I read today in this article is INITIAL on, marijuana growers facing crackdown and it takes place in the AREA of Fresno, California. Fresno authorities ANALYZED 1.2 billion worth of marijuana in an o ongoing crackdown on illegal pot gardens in California. Officials said that cartels, OCCURRED to be a helped for the growers. The CONSEQUENCES were that the marijuana was destroyed, they said it was more than 318,000 plants that were recovered. The AFFECT is that there are still seeking for more cooperators on the growth of the plant.
Today I read about how Matt Kirk of the La Mesa Fire Department worked with Stella, one of four new canine additions to the Urban Search and Rescue California Task Force 8. at the sound of a whistle, a black-and-white border collie whined excitedly before carefully navigating the rungs of a 5-foot ladder. Most dogs would be afraid to attempt, but for Martini the skill is one of the several he must master as one of San Diego County’s newest urban search and rescue dogs. Martini and three new additions to the Urban Search and Rescue California Task Force 8 took a break from training and demonstrated abilities that may one day save lives. The four canines have spent the past year learning to climb through rubble, navigate slippery slopes and crawl through small places so they can find survivors in a disaster. A San Diego firefighter named Aide Barbat said that a 10,000-square-foot pile that a dog can search in 10 minutes takes us an hour and that they have no fear. Martini, Fletch, Stella, and Bella were rescued from shelters by the National Disasters Search Dog Foundation and are now living with firefighters from San Diego, La Mesa and Lakeside.
What I read in today’s San Diego news was about a 4 year old girl who got struck by the trolley. Veronica Ramirez was struck by the trolley in Chula Vista while riding on the back of her father’s bike. Unfortunately the little girl wasn’t wearing a helmet which she had serious head injuries, then later died in the hospital. Paramedics took Veronica to Rady’s Children Hospital where she was pronounced. Doctors EXAMINED Veronica then ANALYZED that she had some serious head injuries. Her father on the other hand was sent to UCSD Medical Center with a broken hip and possible internal injuries. According to MTS spokesman, Mr. Ramirez was riding the bike on the wrong side of the street. He ignored the signal gates and continued on riding and rode through the intersection into the path of the trolley. The trolley operator did all he could to try to avoid the man, but it was too late. There was no way Ramirez can stop his bike since he was going the wrong way and there was no crossing gates so he can physically stop the bike. Tasha Dixie whom witnessed the whole scene from her apartment was horrified to see that her mother was riding behind her daughter. She stopped her bike on time. According to Tasha she can hear the mother’s screams when she saw her daughter and husband get struck. It was heartbreaking for a mother to see her daughter get taken away in front of her eyes. Shane Rudolph DERIVED that they need to set something on both sides to give warning especially if they aren't paying attention. My opinion to this news is that it really is heartbreaking.
Today I read about these 19 people arrested for bird-fighting. The police seized more than 100 canaries. Residents of a home in Shelton were preparing the birds to fight yesterday morning when they were arrested by police. The animal control officials took the birds away. Canaries generally are known as small songbirds that make good pets. They can become aggressive and fight with each other, especially during breeding season. I think this is a interesting sport but it is cruel. I see why this is illegal this is animal cruelty.
Today I read about a girl that died. The girl was struck and killed by a trolley. She was with her dad and he was also hit by the trolley but only had a broken hit and I forgot what else happened. The father was 34 years old and the girl was 4 about to be 5. The mother was right behind them when this happened and saw the whole thing happen. Witnesses say that the woman was screaming NO! NO!. The girl later died at a hospital.
Interesting Facts- the girl’s name was Veronica Ramirez.
My Opinion- I think that this is very sad and tragic. The girl was DERIVED of her life. The cops have to ANALYZE and EXAMINE stuff. The police are lazy and crooked heartless people so they wont do anything good. They are just racist and don’t have feelings it’s a fact.
This morning I read an article about a man who was found guilty of killing and torturing his girlfriend’s son. He will be receiving life in prison without parole. He was also found guilty of abusing his girlfriends daughter who was five at the time. On June 25, 2005 The man was trying to take a nap when the boy started crying while inside a closet he was forced to sleep in. The man then beat thee boy in front of his mother and sister. His defense attorneys claim that he had no history of violence and that I was the child's mother who abused her children. I think this story is disgusting and sad. I thought the interesting fact was that he was accusing the mother of the abuse.
