Police in San Mateo, California, said Monday that "a potentially very drastic event" at a high school was averted when school personnel subdued a former student who walked into the school armed with pipe bombs, a chainsaw and a 2-foot-long sword. The incident in which two pipe bombs exploded and at least 1,200 students and faculty were evacuated from the Northern California school. No one was injured in the incident. a 17-year-old former student wearing a nylon vest packed with 10 homemade pipe bombs entered Hillsdale High School in San Mateo about 8 a.m. Monday. He detonated two devices, with smoke setting off the school's fire-alarm system, before two teachers confronted him. "The suspect was quickly wrestled down by a teacher who, with the help of the principal and another teacher, were able to hold him down until police arrived minutes later.

Today I read about how another record has been set by Jamaicans own Usain Bolt. This guy is literally the fastest man on the planet he is beating his own record each year. As they passed time before the start of the 200 meters, Usain Bolt feigned a jab to the jaw of U.S. sprinter Wallace Spearmon, who ducked it with a little movement of his head. I think everyone is wondering what is inside Bolts body he is running like no one has run before he keeps getting faster and faster. I think Bolt is illustrating what fast is because he is fast and as long as he stay positive about everything he is going to keep doing what he does best and that’s win races and be records.

Today I read about a plan that was approved to trim down state prison population by 37,000. It would let thousands of inmates be released from state and it will also avoid for them to be released early or avoid prison time altogether, the plan is intended to cut down on the cost from corrections spending. Property crimes will be lowered to misdemeanors so convicts wont have to spend time in prison. The new guidelines will be due by July 2012 and the changes will take effect automatically unless they were rejected

Today I read about a man who was accused of killing his baby and his baby’s mother. In the article it said that he faked a paternity test and he also looked up how to get away with murder weeks before they were strangled.
The baby was found in the in his play pen with a cell phone charger wrapped around his neck. The mother was found in the living room with a flat iron cord around her neck.
The article says another man is being accused. The man’s name is Dennis Potts. He was said to be upset with the mother because she rejected him. He was also said to be obsessed with her.
The woman’s name was Tori Vienneau and her baby’s name was not stated.
The man used a man by the name of Maxwell Corn’s biological material to prove he was not the father because he didn’t know how to explain it to his long time girlfriend and his parents.

Today I read about how the problem for retailers is shoppers have become so savvy about prices that a loss on one item to make it back on others is getting t be a risky strategy. Staples was one of the first retailers to resurrect the penny for back-to-school shopping in 2006 after finding selling supplies for a limited time sparked sales activity the year before. The promotion gained steam when the recession set in and is now a hallmark of the retailers July and August selling period.

What I learn about this article I read this morning is INITILA on Prisons and it takes place in the AREA of Sacramento. State senate approves bill to cut inmate population. They ESTIMATE that in the coming 2 years, at least 37,000 inmates will be release. To some Democrats' it does not has a POSITIVE EFFECT. The CONSEQUENCES are that inmates will be release in short time, and be released on their parole, or I to some type of rehabilitation programs. They ILLUSTARTED that by 2012, the new guidelines would be due by July 2012.

Today I read about Enrique and Alan Sanchez, they were offered to be sneaked into the U.S for $4,000. They ended up captives in their own country, later they were shot to death while being marched through rugged terrain east of Tecate. Eight days after the brothers were shot July 15 a little more then two miles away a U.S. border patrol was shot repeatedly about thirty yards from the metal border. The assailants squeezed back into Mexico through and opening beneath the fence vanishing in the dark.
No charges have been announced authorities said that a confessed smuggler detained in Mexico after the U.S. border patrol was killed.

Today I read on cnn about slaying on mexican politicians. Armando chavarria-barrera was the politician that was murdered. He was one of the 11,000 that have died since the president declared war on the drug cartels. The assassin of the congressman is yet to be found and I doubt that they will ever find him. In a poll taken by the milenio newspaper mexicans believed that the government was losing this war against drugs. Hopefully the government will soon realize that they will never win the war against drugs. If they keep fighting this war more people will have to die. What I believe the government should do is just give up. If people want to use drugs just let them it should be there problem
