The article I read this morning was about the killings of two teenagers ages 17 and 15. The shooting happened on December 6 at around 12:55 am. The two teenagers were with a group of friends walking after a party. An 18 year old was arrested in connection with the shooting. Te 18 year old boy was identified as Derelle Oliver. Oliver was with another suspect by the name of James Tyler who is 19. they were suspected of pointing guns from cars passing the party. At first Oliver was not linked to the slayings but after investigations he was arrested.
I think that Oliver does have something to do with the slayings. I hope that the other guy Tyler also gets investigated because it isn’t fair killing two innocent people just to seem cool. I hope that the family is okay and that they will soon find the killers if it wasn’t these two teenagers.
An interesting fact that I read was that the 17 year killed who was a girl died at the scene and the 15 year old who was a boy died shortly at the hospital.

In today's paper I had read that four marines might be facing the death penalty. What they did was very disturbing and sick. Four marines had came in on a couples house raided it and had shot sgt. Jan-pietzak and his wife. But the worst part is not only did they kill them both but before killing the wife they had sexually assaulted her and then killing her, the four marines had then burned the house to the ground. In other news I had also read that a man had thrown her former girlfriend to her death was found guilty. Duarte,38, is facing a maximum penalty of 25 years to life in prison. The reason why he threw her was because she was sleeping around with another guy and he had caught her in the bedroom while her former girlfriend was in bed with the other man. He had then thrown her but did not mean to throw her off. Yes I would be mad about that but I would just leave the room or house. And iam pretty sure she’d feel bad herself and she’d have to deal with it for the rest of her life. That sucks. It wouldn’t hurt her physically but mentally.

What I read today in the Union Tribune was about a former Navy serviceman, named Joshua A. Turnidge. He was charged yesterday with murder and other crimes in connection with a bomb explosion at a bank that killed two law enforcement and critically injured a third. Joshua is 32 years of age he was arrested Sunday after police released surveillance photos of him. Turnidge was arrested in Salem, where he lives, about 20 miles south of Woodburn, where the bomb exploded Friday at a West Coast Bank branch office. What I think of this tragic robbery is that is just some scandalous former Navy servicemen that probably needed money and he got angry because the government didn’t paid him well while he serve his country.

What I read in today’s Union Tribune newspaper for December 16, 2008 was about the updated news on the shooting of two teens, Monique Palmer and Michael Taylor. Derelle Oliver was arrested on December 6 with assault with a deadly weapon for threatening people at the party with a gun. He was out on bail on December 7. Oliver was arrested again last night for the suspicion of the deaths of the teens. Another man was linked to the suspected pointing of guns from cars passing the party. Tyler surrendered at the police headquarters on December 9 and was arrested for the assault of a deadly weapon. Oliver was taken into custody at his home in Rolando and he was booked into County Jail on two counts of murder. Monique Palmer died on the street corner where she was shot. Michael Taylor died in the hospital shortly after he was shot. The Valencia Park Community is angered at the tragic. My opinion is I think the two men that were linked to the slayings should deserve their time in jail for what they’ve done.

Today in the union tribune I read about how a man was charge 15 to life for beating a guy that was a pro surfer. He hit him in the head and as the surfer feel to the ground. He cracked his head and killed him. They just found out yesterday that he has life in prison for second degree murder, and battery. The guy he killed was killed on may 24 2007.. About a year ago. Reflection- I think that he shouldn’t have hit him that is now his life behind bars for life.

Today I read in the Union Tribune about British Columbia a small plane crashed on a remote island off British Columbia’s southern coast yesterday, killing seven of the eight people on board. One survivor walked away, rescue officials said. The pilot was quite experienced said the passenger who as the only one alive. I think how will they let somebody have license to fly an plane if they are not ready for it. People make mistakes but people don't kill seven people one mistake. The fact is that the pilot was experienced how did he crashed was he drugged out or what. Reflection- I wonder how it feels to be in a air plane crash.
