Today in the San Diego Union Tribune I read about a teen boy who feels that he has been tricked into believing he was doing the right thing. Shakirullah now passes his hours in a cell block at a juvenile detention facility in Kabul. He is serving at least five years in detention. He is to be transferred to an adult prison in a couple of years. He hasn't heard from his family in the North-West Frontier Province of Pakistan. He tried to send them a letter through the International Committee of the Red Cross but is not sure it reached them. Three boys like Shakirullah are here, all guilty of planning to kill themselves and others after being recruited by terrorist groups. The violence in Afghanistan is increasing armed groups and national forces recruit child soldiers. I think it is so crazy how things are way different on the other side of the world, it is also sad how in other countries people don’t have a say or a mind of their own, I can’t even imagine how my mentality of living would have been, if I grew up there.
In the newspaper today it talked about the Israeli occupation of the Gaza strip. Fighting has began after a week of aired bombardments. For the past eight days civilians have been dying along with top Hamas officials. The Israeli government claims to be trying to avoid civilian casualties. But the use of spread bombs continues. As the death toll rises Israel continues to try to put an end to the rockets being launched in to southern Israel.
In today’s paper I had read that a mans body was found in the drivers seat of a burning car at paradise valley road and south Worthington street early yesterday. The cops had found a 2006 Toyota Camry on fire just before 1 a.m. The passenger compartment was set in flames. The cops had broken the window to see if anyone was in the car and saw no one. But when the cars flames had settled down, fire fighters had found a body in there. Another story I had read today was that a man was killed in a hit and run incident. The 72 year old man was walking at the crosswalk and a light colored SUV had slammed into him. He had died at the scene.
The article I read this morning was about a man who is seeking justice. The man, by the name of Justin Ladou, filed a $5 million claim against the city of Chula Vista. He is accusing an officer of violating his civil rights. The incident happened on the 4th of July at a neighbors house. Ladou was with his neighbors, his two children and other children that were also there witnessing the roughness of the officer. The officer that is being accused is officer Curtis Chancellor. He arrived at the party on the 4th of July at around 11:30 pm. He than choked Ladou because he started cursing the officer out.
I think that this officer had no right to touch the man. The man should win his case because it isn’t fair that the officer didn’t even tell him his rights. I hope that the officer gets punished because he is very aggressive.
An interesting fact that I read was that Chancellor has a history of stalking.
the marien corps are complaining about there flak jakets that they are hevier and that they would like there old ones back because they are having trouble with them they are complaining all over baghdad they said that when there rifel would recoil the shell would hit them in there face and would cause them bruses.
Today in the union tribune I read that John Travolta’s son had died. He had a seizure in his home in the Bahamas in his families bathroom. Doctors will try to do an autopsy to figure out what really caused his sons death. His name was Jett and he was only 16 years old. The boy's body later will be transferred to Ocala, Florida, for burial. Bahamian police said that a caretaker at the resort found the teenager unconscious in the bathroom.
I think that sucks for john Travolta and his family because the article said that they were really close and that he was the best son that any parents could ever ask for. It’s a real tragedy because when I first heard about it, I thought his son was older than sixteen.
