The article I read this morning was about an 18 year old gang member who is being sentenced to life in prison. Penifoti Taeotui is the 18 year old gang member being charge with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and a consecutive term of life without parole for one count of murder. He is not ineligible for parole. He is being sentenced to 56 years in prison. When he was first arrested he was sentenced to life without parole in prison. There is another man who’s trail is expected to begin in February. A third man remains a suspect. The victim was a 25 year old officer by the name of Dan Bessant.
I think that the sentenced this guy got is sad and long. If he knew the consequences that he was facing if he got caught why did he do it. I hope that they find the third suspect as well.
An interesting but sad fact that I read was that officer Bessant had just gotten married less than a year and he had a 6 month old son.
Today in the union tribune I read that a sex offender won 500,000 dollars in Alaska. An Alaska lottery held to raise money for a group that helps sexual abuse victims had a surprise winner: a convicted sex offender. Alec Ahsoak, looks weirder than his name sounds, was convicted in 1993 and 2000 for sexual abuse of a minor, had the winning ticket for the $500,000 Lucky Time Pull Tabs jackpot. Proceeds of the lottery help Standing Together Against Rape in Anchorage, a nonprofit group that offers support to sexual assault victims. That’s a retarded name for a nonprofit group. Alaska has the highest per capita number of rape cases in the United States. I think its because its all isolated over there and there’s nothing better to do. People find it ironic that a sex offender won the winning ticket that a non profit group that supports sexual assault victims put on.
Today the news announced that president Barak Obama plans to close Guantanamo base a prison for foreign prisoners of the United States. He says closing Guantanamo will be harder than people think because they will have to ship the 248 prisoners to different prisons in an out of the U.S. Also president Obama says he plans to help the Mexican president in stopping the assault rifles being smuggled into Mexico. The Mexican President reports that 90 percent of the guns smuggled into Mexico come from the United States. Mean while in the middle east fighting in Gaza continues despite the security councils call for an immediate cease fire. Israeli troops have bombed and started to enter the suburbs of Gaza where heavy fighting is expected.
According to the San Diego Union Tribune a 18-year-old gang member from Oceanside gets life in prison for being around a person who shot at a cop. The crime happened 2 years ago the teenager has been awaiting his sentence in juvenile hall. Penifoti Taeotul was 16 when the incident happened outside his friend’s house drinking beer. The cop was in the area answering to a backup call in a traffic stop. One of taeotul’s friends shot at the cops with a rifle from 386 feet away and hit one in a spot not covered by the vest. the judge did not hesitate to give him a life sentence primary because he is now 18. traditionally you get tried as if you were the age of when the crime was committed.
The article that i read today was about a 36 year old father that married his 14 year old daughter for 16,000 and a 100 cases of beer and several cases of meat the man went to the guys house to get his daughter back because the man was not making his payments on the girl so when the other man dint want to give up the girl the dad called the police and told them that he wanted his daughter back because the guy was not making his payments and so the father got arested and put in jail and the other guy is in jail for statutory rape but they investigated and they found out that she gave herself willingly.
Today in my morning blog i had read a article in the union tribune .The article that I had read was about a boarder patrol speed chase .Boarder patrol had told authorities a car was filled with illegal immigrants. they had crashed into a suv on state route 94 during the high speed chase by boarder patrol agents.The was a Hyundai Tiburon coupe it was spotted by the b agents at 1 p.m. on deer horn valley road which was right next to my new house . The agent said he tryed his hardest to stop the car it was headed west on route 94 near jamacha boulevard, but the driver refused to pull over.During 1:20 p.m.the driver of a lincon navigator was turning left from via mercado onto east bound state route 94 when the hyndai ran a red light and broad sided the SUV on the drivers side. The SUV driver suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital. they said two of seven people in the hyndai all suspected illegal immigrants ran off and were still being sought, and the other five were hospitalized with minor injuries.
Today I have read that a man in Greenfield California tried to sell his daughter for $16,000 dollars, 160 cases of beer, and several cases of beer. Haha that’s so funny and sad at the same time. But I guess that the guy that the father sold the daughter to was going to marry the daughter. But they were also saying that over in Mexico they do stuff like that. To prove to the father that he can treat and take care of her. The police are taking it the wrong way and saying that the guy that was going to marry the daughter was going to get booked for something something rape. I don’t really remember what it was called.
