Today in The Union Tribune Shawna Rowe was gulping air by the time she peddled into a parking at Lake Wohlford yesterday after cranking up a steep-a very steep-section of Lake Wohlford Road known as the gateway to Palomar Mountain. Friend and fellow bicyclist Terry Thorn rushed to Rowe’s side and jokingly began checking her pulse. Rowe, whose face was as flushed as a rose, was a bit to gassed to fully was as flushed as a rose, was a bit too gassed to fully appreciate the humor. You made me think it wasn’t going to be as bad as it was. Rowe said, still breathing hard but beginning to smile as much as grimace. Rowe and Thorn were among the thousands amateur and recreational cyclists of varying levels who jumped on their bikes to ride along 96.8-mile Amgen tour of California route ahead of the competitor yesterday.

In today’s Quest section of the tribune, I read about the 81st Annual Academy Awards and the emotional undertones that braced the special occasion. Heath Ledger’s family casually accepted their late son’s best supporting actor Oscar, however it was easy to assume the pain they felt inside. In another story the process of using prepaid cell phones is gaining much popularity with consumers. People are making the in response to high costs and lengthy bills. Finally, a new therapy has been developed to neuter the flu virus. The antiviral therapy has been successfully tested in mice, and it could be ready for trials in humans within two years, and a universal flu vaccine may be reached in five years.

What I read in today’s Union Tribune newspaper was about a school in the San Diego County offers AP Spanish classes in the middle school. Lemon Grove middle school was in the PROCESS of teaching AP Spanish in their school. This gives Spanish speakers an opportunity to excel in their native language. The whole goal of this opportunity is to help the students experience and handle a college level course and ASSUME students are encouraged enough to take more AP classes that are going to be available for them in their high school. Out of all the schools in the San Diego County area, Lemon grove is the only place where AP Spanish classes are available to students in middle school. One student from an AP Spanish class RESPONDS, ‘ I heard only college and high school students took it.” Education experts have said to believe that students in middle school can handle to course, because at that early age they are pretty much still fluent in their language and Spanish culture that they can handle the college level class.

Today I read about Giselle Flynn who was arrested on Feb. 14 for leaving the Army in ’99. She was beginning to put her life back together after being arrested for deserting the Army a decade ago so she could be able to take care of her two children. Flynn, 37, of El Cajon was back home after spending this last week at the Las Colinas jail in Santee and the Army base in Fort Sill, Okla. The Army gave her an administrative discharge from duty, and she flew back to San Diego on Friday night. She was ecstatic and she was really worried about a court-martial and them taking her kids. Her attorney Jeremiah Sullivan, said the negotiations with the Army couldn’t have gone any better. When she returned home on Friday, it was her mothers birthday. Her mom said that her been home is the best present she could wish for. Her 12-year-old son said that he was happy too that she was home and he also felt like it was his fault. This is what i read today, and i was happy that Flynn went home because thats the right thing. yea i know sounds boring but i was looking at the Target catalog and it looks good. lol i mean the prices .... uuuuh im bored!

In today’s paper I had that a boy had died while he was on the atv had crashed into a wall. A 12 year old boy died yesterday afternoon after losing control into a wall. Julio C. Lizarraga was taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after he arrived around 3pm. The incident had taken place on 16th street in national city. In other news I had read that a 24 year old man was arrested last week when he was spray painting a large mural on a brick wall. Two deputies saw the man painting the bridge wall. Two cops had seen him painting at 1:30 PM Wednesday at civic center drive and ranchero drive. When they caught him he had a gallon of paint and a roller and was finishing the mural about 20 feet wide and 5 feet 4 inches high. He also had a backpack filled with 34 cans of spray paint, 68 spray-tip nozzles and a digital camera. Cops also questioned him about other spray painting conflicts he has had over in Orange, riverside and Los Angeles.

Today in the news I read about Hilary Clinton. I read that Hilary Clinton resumed talks with China today about the economy. Hilary told china that they were making a smart decision by continuing making investments in America. I also read about the NAACP is calling a boycott on the New York Times for their racist publications. This picture invites people to assassinate the president and perpetuates racism.
I feel the cartoon is racist and that the person should be fired and the cartoon could only be taken as racist. The only people who think this is not a racist cartoon are racist themselves.

In today’s news paper article I read about a former prison guard that killed a hostage and left two wounded. The guard apparently distraught over a breakup with his girlfriend, and he decided to respond by keeping an Orange County family hostage for five hours. He killed the father and injured two othersin the process. He surrendered on Saturday the 21st of February after 2 a.m. police said. The former prison guard’s name was Alwyn Gibson ll, and he was twenty-four years of age. Gibson the 2nd was from Fairfield, Texas. He was arrested for investigation of murder, police said. On Friday night a SWAT team was called and six to ten neighboring homes were evacuated. I assume that all this happened because of the breakup Gibson the 2nd and his ex-girlfriend had.

In the San Diego Union Tribune of this morning I read something that I thought was really gangster but at the same time sad but not for me. An eleven-year old boy is in the process of being charged as a adult in the city of Pittsburgh. The boy is being charged with murder of the first degree execution style, murder, and murder of an unborn child. The warden of a state prison in his area wants him out of adult lock up because of the safety of the eleven year old. Jordan brown was charged on Saturday for firing his own 20-gauge shotgun to kill Kenzie Marie Houk, 26. The Lady was his fathers girlfriend who was pregnant with his fathers unborn son. Police say that Jealously Could Have Been involved. The boy shot Kenzie twice once in the stomach and once in the back of the dome. Then after killing her, he walked off to jump on the school bus that picks him up to go to school. The boys step sister, the woman’s daughter saw her mother and called 911 saying she thinks her mother is dead. The boy was then picked up from school. The by is assumed to be the killer because he had said he would do it. The boy’s attorney has not responded to the newspapers or news stations.
