LEGAL Deputy District Attorney Victor Ou said each man could be sentenced to three years in prison if convicted. He also said that Hertz faces additional time due to a previous theft-related conviction in Los Angeles. In another story, a teen was shot with a taser after allegedly attacking the cops. The teenage girl was shot with a taser yesterday after she bit and scratched two officers as they were arresting her father. All four officers, the girl, and her father ended up in the hospital after the incident. The girl also reportedly used a pen to stab at the detective’s face and scratched him with it from forehead to chin. The officers radioed for help and several other officers drove to the home and one used a taser on the girl.
According to the San Diego Union Tribune I read about a family from NATIONAL CITY seeks clues in Mysterious Death. Two years ago a woman was killed after falling or being pushed from a moving car. The family is pleading the for new leads in a unsolved case. Filirician Torres, 24, was smashed by a semi truck and four other vehicles after landing on state route 94 near Euclid Avenue on January 10, 2007. investigators are calling the death suspicious. The mother of two had just finished her shift at a gas station when she called her father to pick her up but he said he was to far to take the bus home. She walked across the street to the bus stop it is unknown if she got on the bus but at 5:30 p.m. she was seen falling from a 1992 white geo on the freeway and being subsequently smashed by several vehicles. Her family said she would not just jump into strange cars with a stranger. She is described as the type of cheerful person who keep the family happy and laughing. She would have been 27 yesterday.
Today In The Union Tribune I read about Secretary Clinton talking about Pakistan. Secretary Clinton addressed congress yesterday with a very blunt statement. This statement focused on the agreement that the Pakistani government has made with the Taliban. Clinton said that the Pakistani government needs to deliver justice and services better. The Pakistani Government has granted Shariah in the Swat Valley region of Pakistan. This marshal law makes it illegal for women to be in public without their husbands. This is just giving the Taliban more control over the region and getting them close to the town of Islamabad. The Pakistani government does not extend its powers past its capital city and central cities. The tribal region is lawless and in control of the Taliban where air strikes have taken place. This is a big concern to the American government because the Pakistani Government is promoting terrorism.
Today in the Union Tribune I read about the local businessmen John Sawyer and Mike Rose have the inside scoop on “ The Celebrity Apprentice show but they aren’t talking. Their contract with the show forbids them from giving away the plot of an upcoming episode or the names of eliminated.
