Today I read that schools where re opened in Mexico but in order to assist the school they had to be checked to see if they had the swine flu .in regard of this students wore mask sin there faces in order to not get the flu if they didn’t have it .the principals of the schools told the student that for those who where infected with the swine flu where not going to be able to assist to school until they had a cure to there sickness so that means that only the ones that don’t have the swine flu are allowed to go to school and that’s if they want ,because some parents don’t want to send there kids to school because they don’t want them to get infected
In today’s paper I read about the CONSEQUENCES that slugger Manny Ramirez must face after failing Major League Baseball’s performance-enhancing drug policy. The suspension will cost him 50 games and close to $8 million in salary and quite possibly a future spot in the Hall of Fame. The drug, human chorionic gonadotropin, FEAUTURES a muscle building anabolic steroid that may also induce stimulation of ovulation in women. Several anti-doping experts say that the discovery shows that Ramirez was indeed likely using steroids, and that it may signal a new, more sophisticated chapter of baseball’s steroid era. In another story, a man with a blond scraggly beard robbed a Lemon Grove bank yesterday. The man walked into the Bank of America on Lemon Grove Avenue near Central Avenue just after 9 a.m. The robber handed the teller a demand note. Other ASPECTS of the incident did not involve any weapons that were seen, or the amount of money that was taken. In another story, a community meeting will be held Saturday in response to a string of recent sexual assaults targeting Asian women in San Diego. Women will learn tips on how to avoid looking like a victim and what to do if attacked. The same man is suspected of robbing and sexually assaulting at least six Asian women since June 2008. The most recent attack occurred April 28 in Mission Valley. In my opinion, Manny Ramirez should be suspended from baseball for life. 50 games is nothing for a doping charge, especially when their have been so many incidents like this before. Drug use in any sport should have a zero tolerance policy to ensure no unfair advantages are being taken by opposing teams. As they say, these things only happen in America.
Today in the Union tribune I read about the Taliban. Yesterday 147 civilians were killed by American and Afghan forces. This is the largest number of casualties since the war has started in 2001. The afghan military blames the U.S. for all these deaths due to U.S. bombing raids. This incident was protested by the Afghan people. This does not look good for the Obama administration because they are in the midst of sending more troops to combat the Taliban in this region. In other news the feature story was Pakistan. The Pakistani government is ensuring that they have control of their nuclear arms and they are not going to fall into terrorist hands. This is in the national spotlight because this is the region filled with militants and terrorist camps. This is the country where the Taliban have taken over whole areas of the country.
Today in the San Diego Union Tribune I read about a gang crime in the city of Imperial Beach. A gang fight turns fatal after the 22 year old man was stuck. The victim was identified as 22 year old Donniel Wilkins. He was found laying in the driveway of a home on 13th Street near Fern Avenue at 10:45 pm. He had been stabbed at least once and was taken to a hospital where he died. Wilkins was outside the house talking to a friend when two men approached them from the alley and made a gang statement. Wilkins walked over to the men and started getting down with one. While getting down the gangbanger stuck him. Wilkins returned back to where his friend was standing and pasted out. Both of the bangers are described as your average gangsters. Mexican with a average build body, bald and with tattoos on their arms. They are to face the consequences of their actions.
Today in my current events I read about a wave of violence, and also an assassination attempt against a deputy oil minister. Yesterday parliament passed a bill that would grant the country’s embattled minorities fewer guaranteed seats in the upcoming elections than the united states . In the most lethal attack of the day ,six people were killed and 20 wounded when two roadside bombs exploded in quick succession in front of the headquarters of the Ministry of the Interior’s criminal investigations unit in Baghdad's central Karada district. The deadlier bomb was planted in front of the protective concrete wall ringing the government building.
