Today in The Union Tribune I read about a car bomb that killed at least twenty people. This tragic event happened yesterday around noon in north Badghdad. People that witnesses this event said that the vehicle was a yellow peugeot. The bomb exploded in a Shiite area. There were twenty deaths and seventy-three wounded. The area was near small shops and food stalls, scattering apples, oranges and bananas in pools of blood. This was really sad and these two tribes of people should really stop fighting and killing each other.
In today’s paper I read about how China is looking to bring a specialized class to teach Americans Chinese as a second language. The Confucius Institute was unveiled yesterday at the SDSU’s College of Arts and Letters, is a language and culture center that will focus on promoting Chinese language and culture. The hopes of the Chinese is that language instruction and teacher training will help bring the two countries together. In another heart warming story, a wounded police dog is doing remarkably well in its recovery after a suicidal man stabbed the dog with a knife. The German shepherd has a larger scar on his throat and will get stitches removed Tuesday. In another story, air and ground teams searched around Linda Vista parks for hours last night after callers reported and naked young girl running though the area. A witness told officers shed seen a man and the nude girl walk into the canyon, also stating that the girl was Latina and 10 or 11 years old. Another witness described a scream he had heard in a specific area, where the girls clothes were later found. Authorities searched fnear 4 hours before calling it a day.
Today I read about Earp, the police dog that got stabbed six days ago. They said that he is doing remarkably well now and he’s healing good. Even though he has a nasty scar in his neck, he still getting better. His handler, Sgt. Jess Havin said that Earp already wants to play with rocks and sticks during their short walks. Havin also mentioned that he’s been partnered with three police dogs in his career and Earp is the smartest and most obedient one he’s had. That it’s a real joy to work with him. I also read about a teacher been accused of molesting a boy. A 35-year-old woman accused of engaging in sexual conduct with a boy she met when she was his fifth grade teacher has pleaded not guilty to felony charges, prosecutors. Adrienne Elizabeth Feistel was charged Wednesday in San Diego Superior Court with 10 accounts of committing lewd act on a child. They said she molested the boy on several occasions between August 2006 and last August. He is now 15 years old. If convicted, Feistel could face a term up to eight years. Feistel met the boy when she was his fifth grade teacher. She befriended his family and later moved into their home for several months. Feistel started molesting the boy when he was in the seventh grade and she was no longer his teacher. The boy told his mother about the molestation on August 19. the boy told police that Feistel had made out with him more than 10 times and had been in his bedroom when other family members were asleep.
In today’s paper I had read that a ex-teacher accused of molesting a boy is held with 10 counts of committing a lewd act on a child. In some counts she accused of substantial sexual conduct with the boy when he was younger than 14 years of age. Prosecutors said that she molested the boy on several occasions between August 2006 when he was 13 and last August. He is now 15 years old. If convicted she will serve a great amount of time in prison. She could be facing up to 8 years in. according to court they said she met the boy when he was in 5th grade. She befriended his family thus moving into their home for several months. Authorities said she started molesting the boy when he was in the seventh grade and she was no longer a teacher. The boy told his mother about the molestation on August 19th when San Diego police responded to a disturbance at the boy’s home. He told the police that the women made out with him more than 10 times and had been in his bedroom when other family members were sound asleep.
Today in the news I read about a supposed serial killer. This supposed serial killer killed six people and attacked 23 others. The prosecutor is asking for the death penalty. The prosecutor feels the murder should know when he is going to die like his victims did. In world news a Norwegian chemical tanker was seized by pirates yesterday. The U.S 5th fleet said that the hijacking took place in the Indian ocean. The 23000 ton vessel was filled with chemicals. The pirates took the boat 250 miles off the coast of Somalia. Just a couple hundred miles away pirates tried to hijack a Panamanian ship but failed. The Panamanian ship used water hoses and its speed to escape its untimely capture.
What I read in today’s Union Tribune newspaper for March 27, 2009 was about an ex teacher whom was accused of molesting a boy. Adrienne Elizabeth Feistal, a 35 year old, was accused of engaging in a sexual conduct with a boy who she had in her fifth grade classroom. On Wednesday, she was charged with 10 counts of committing lewd acts on a child at San Diego Superior Court. The sexual assault started when the boy was younger than 14 years old. Feistal was a district employee between the August 1999 through February 27, 2006 in which she had resigned on Sept 1, 2006. She worked at Rosa Parks Elementary School located at City Heights. According to documents, Feistal met the boy when he was in her fifth grade classroom, and then she began to be friends with his parents. Later on then she moved into their home, and that was when she started molesting the boy. According to the boy, Feistal had made out with him several times and went in his room when other people in the house were asleep. In my own personal opinion I think this is a disgrace for the dumb 35 year old woman for sexually assaulting a boy way younger than her. Not only is it a disgrace, but its also disgusting.
In the San Diego Union Tribune I read about a crooked ass judge who would take bribes. In a total of five years Judge took Mark Caveralla took $2.6 millions in payoffs in juvenile courts. Hilary Transue who appeared in court without a defendant affront mark for making a false MySpace account of the principle was not informed of her rights. She is a juvenile. She said “I feel incredible , not even just for myself but for everyone who is involved in this whole thing, all of those kids who are going to have clean records now.” The county said it will take some time but all of the people involved will have their records cleaned up.
