According to the San Diego Union Tribune I read a fire might have been started because of marijuana growing equipment. Fire fighters believe the equipment used in the growing of the plantation of marijuana plants may have sparked the fire. The house was on Camrosa Circle near Ganesta Road. The firefighters were called by neighbors who saw smoke and flames coming from inside the house. As the fire fighters went into the house the were surprised to find a plantation of 333 plantations of illegal marijuana plants. The plants were growing in two rooms and another room containing trays of plants. A 28 year-old man was arrested in suspicion of cultivation of marijuana and other charges. the home received $ 150,000 dollars worth of damage. Firefighters said they are still doing investigation to fight out whether or not the plantations equipment is at fault.

In today’s paper I read about Tiger Wood’s first win since the Torre Pines U.S. Open last June. The victory along with the extreme adrenaline rush made Woods forget that it had been 9 months since he last tasted victory. The Arnold Palmer Invitational, the tournament’s title, is not as prestigious compared to the U.S. Open, but did prove to be Tiger’s longest comeback win. In another story, a gunman kills 8 in a nursing home shooting. While the data authorities had on the victims was minimal, everyone was believed to between the ages of 78 and 98. The shooter’s ex-wife said that he had been reaching out lately, especially after he had been diagnosed with cancer. She also claimed noticing many violent tendencies in her ex-husband Robert Stewart, who is facing 8 counts of first degree murder. In another story, Perez Hilton, famous for making fun of celebrities received praise from many of his fellow targets. Christina Aguilera, the Jonas Brothers, Paris Hilton, and Kim Kardashian were among the 200 people who attended the gossip king’s 31st birthday in West Hollywood. The venue was filled with good spirits, especially when Aguilera rose and stated, “ Happy birthday, Mr. Per-ez-ident.” In another story a Marijuana operation went up in flames yesterday, exposing a range of 333 plants. A 28-year-old man was arrested on charges of cultivating marijuana and other charges as well. The home took damage estimated to be at $150,000, authorities said.

What I read in today’s Union Tribune newspaper for March 30, 2009, was about the Navy Lieutenant mom who was killed on Afghanistan on Friday. Lt. Choe was killed early Friday afternoon in northern Afghanistan while she was serving as a medical administration and logistics mentor to the Afghan. At least 2 Lt. and one got wounded when an insurgent posing as an Afghan National Army soldier opened fire to troops who were assigned to Combined Security Transition Comman Afghanistan at Camp Shaheen, Mazar-e-Sharif. Lt. Choe was born at San Diego Medical naval Station, where her home duty station was. According to a biography that was released yesterday by a spokeswoman at the naval hospital said that Lt. Choe volunteered to serve in Afghanistan. Lt. Choe was very well educated at San Diego schools. She attended Spring Valley’s Loma Elementary School and Monte Vista High School.Lt. Choe achieved many things in life. She earned her associates degree from Cuyamaca Community College in 1994, she earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of San Diego in 1997, then she earned a master’s degree in public health and health care administration. The naval medical hospital is creating a memory book on their official website for Lt. Choe. She is survived by her husband, “t. Cmdr. Chong “Jay” Choe, her daughter Kristin, her mother, father, a retired navy, and brothers.

In today’s blog I have read that a teen was killed on a a freeway. This teenager was tagging on one of the center dividers. The teen was hit by one car and then making him fly over the center divider then making him get hit by several other cars. Police stated that Blake locko 17 was pronounced dead at the scene on state route 60 early Saturday. Locko and another person were standing in the westbound car pool lane, when Locko was hit by a Saturn sedan and knocked over the the divider and smashed by other vehicles on the other side. In other news I had read that 88 year old motorist hit a restaurant while he was trying to park. The man said that he got the brakes and accelerator mixed up. The motorist had drove into a plate-glass window at around 2 pm yesterday. He had struck several pedestrians on the sidewalk before crashing into the restaurant thus pinning a women against the wall and knocking a boy through the wall into an adjacent store. The department of motor vehicles will test his ability to see if he is able to drive.

Today in the newspaper I read about a guy who volunteers to clean the state route 54 by Bonita. Mario Mendez has been out long the freeway near Briarwood Road several times in the past month to pick up trash. Mendez had learned quite a bit about litterbugs in the area. He says Starbucks coffee drinkers litter 4-to-1 over the next competitor and that high energy drinks have a large base of drinkers who think nothing of tossing their cans out the window. He has picked a lot of plastic bags. He has seen paychecks, bank applications with Social Security numbers and all the rungs of a fiberglass ladder. I also read about wireless health care in San Diego. A new institute will help develop technology such as wireless pills. Imagine a pill with a tiny, inexpensive radio inside that uses the electrolyte in stomach acid as a power source when swallowed. The radio sends a message to a home network or other wireless device, which ultimately alerts a doctor when and how often a patient is taking a critical medicine.

Today in the Union Tribune I read about wireless health care. This wireless health care comes in the form of a pill. The pill sends a radio message to a home network or other wireless devices. These other remote devices are monitored by a doctor miles away. There is also a band-aid sized monitor. This monitor monitors seven hear functions and can wirelessly alert a doctor when a patient needs to come in for a treatment. This is good because this can help doctors tell a if a patient is going to have a heart attack and save lives. Despite approval by the USFDA the wireless health care technologies are not yet available because scientist have yet done the necessary studies to prove its medical worth. San Diego will become the first sight of wireless health labs in the united states. In world news South Korea opposes any military action to the planned North Korean rocket launch. US defense secretary Robert Gates said the U.S will not take action or try to shoot down the rocket. Any action taken would cause tensions to spike. North Korea says that the rockets its launching is to further is space program. Other regional powers say that this rocket test is to really test its Long range missiles.
