Andre McGee scored a season-high 16 points as No.6 Louisville edged No.8 Marquette 62-58 yesterday to keep its hopes for a big east title alive. Terrence Williams added 14 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for the host Cardinals, who have won five straight and can clinch at least a share of the Golden Eagles with 19 point but Marquette lost it’s second straight despite a game effort who broke his left foot in a loss to No.2 Connecticut last week. The Cardinals harassed Marquette into a season-low 34 percent shooting and survived a couple of runs by Marquette, which never led in the second half but never let Louisville get comfortable

In today’s newspaper article I read about when the padres ace Jake Peavy joined the world baseball classic three years ago. When Peavy first got drafted with the padres many doubted his abilities but now that Trevor is gone and he’s in the pitching spot light many actually feel confident for this 2009 season. Peavy says that he has a good feeling about this season and that in the offseason he did a little extra running so he feels fitter than ever. Yesterday the padres played against the cubs and Peavy shut them out for three innings winning a 4-2 victory at Peoria stadium. I think its going to be a great season with Peavy at the mound feeling confident. He also says he’s prepared WBC.

Today I read about cheetahs and the San Diego Zoo researchers studying the male cheetah’s “ bark” that does more to females than attract them. When male cheetahs feel amorous, they resort to a more modest bark that scientists say does much more than simply catch a receptive female’s ear. The so-called “ stutter-bark” seems literally to turn the female on, triggering a cascade of reproductive hormones that results in the release of eggs for fertilization. The cheetah research is part of the zoo’s larger experiment in “sensory ecology” an effort to better understand how animals used sounds or other signals to communicate. The findings concerning cheetah’s vocal cues are currently under peer review for scientific publication. Cheetahs have long been considered members of the cat family. Cheetahs are sole members of their genus , Acinonyx , meaning no-move-claw a reference to the fact that unlike almost all other cats. Cheetahs cannot completely retract their claws. Those claws help the cheetahs run faster than any other land animals, yet cheetahs cannot climb trees. Nor they cant roar like other big cats, instead they purr, growl, chirp, yowl, and bark.

In today's business section of the Union Tribune, I read about how many Eastern Europeans are suffering economically and are seeking help from wealthier Western European countries. Germany and the Netherlands shot down suggestions that Eastern European countries with plummeting currencies should be granted a quick entry to the euro. Germany has been under immense pressure to take the lead in rescuing their neighboring countries, but has said that the situation is not the same for all Central and Eastern countries, and that they will help on a day to day crisis. In another reading; pension funds may be lost to fraud. The San Diego County Employees Retirement Association had $78 million invested with WG Trading Co., but pension officials aren’t sure how much they’ll get back after two of the fund’s principals were arrested Wednesday. Paul Greenwood and Stephen Walsh of Connecticut based WG Trading have been charged with conducting conspiracy, securities fraud and wire fraud. With those three elements of fraud, the two men were able to raid up to $1.3 billion in company money. The retirement association originally administered a $150 million investment with the hedge fund in April 2004 and cashed out $75 million in 2007.

Today I read an article that was about the famous jack in a box. Jack got hit by a bus during a jack in a box commercial . I believe that if jack gets the treatment that he needs he will get better and I believe he will make it . Then again who ever makes it when they get hit by a bus not much. Hopefully jack makes it so he can keep on making burgers and announce that you can order at any time. IF he don’t make I bet they will keep on making and selling burgers in his name.

According to the San Diego Union Tribune A man selling tamales was killed by a man who tried to come up on his papers. The man was blasted on his chest early Friday morning in a Westlake neighborhood west of Downtown Los Angeles. A man in his 20s approached Cosme Gonzalez and demanded money from he tamale sales-men. Gonzalez refused to give up the paper and the man pulled the trigger without hesitation. The lead hit ‘zalez in the chest and killed him.
