Today in The Union Tribune I read about a new study by University Of South Carolina researchers indicates aerobically fit women are three times less likely to die of breast cancer than those who seldom exercise. The latest addition to the growing evidence on the benefits of aerobic exercise is reported in the April issue of the scientific journal Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise. The new study also backed up previous findings that exercise helps control cholesterol levels, lowers blood pressure and lessens the likelihood for diabetes and heart disease.
In today's blog I had read that there was largest seizure that had occurred at about 10:30 am. Sunday involving a commercial bus at otay mesa agents inspected the bus and found 254 packages of marijuana. It weighed more than 1,300 pounds and valued at $790,000 U.S. customs and border protection officials said . The driver was from Tijuana and was arrested. About seven hours later a man driving a 2004 GMC pickup and towing a trailer tried to enter the country in San Ysidro. He was referred for further inspection. Agents found bundles of marijuana behind the bathroom wall of the trailer. The pot was in 63 packages and weighed more than 1,000 pounds. It was street valued at $611,000. agents had also arrested the driver who was from el Cajon. Thursday agents arrested a women after they found 33 packages of methamphetamine in a secret compartment under the rear cargo area of the jeep she was driving. The drugs weighed 57 pounds and have a street value of $860,000. the women was arrested.
In the San Diego Union Tribune I read about the U.S. customs seizure of drugs in three cases. Nearly 2,400 pounds of marijuana and meth valued at 2.2 million have been seized at Otay Mesa and San Ysidro ports of entry. The border patrol was caught at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday in a commercial bus in Otay Mesa. Agents found 254 packages of marijuana weighing more than 1,300 pounds valued at $790,000. the driver was 37 years old from Tijuana. About seven years later a man driver in a 2004 GMC pickup towing a trailer was sent to secondary. Agents found in the trailers bathroom wall 1,000 pounds of weed estimated at $611,000, the driver was arrested he was from El Cajon. Then Tuesday agents arrested a women caught with 33 packages of meth in a compartment hidden under the cargo area of a jeep. The woman was from Tijuana as well.
Today I read about two motorists appeared to be racing and one didn’t stop and caused an accident. Alexandria Drake was fatally injured Sunday on state Route 67 in Ramona when one of two drivers, possibly racing, lost control of his Jaguar and crossed into oncoming traffic. The driver hit the side of McKeirnan's car, which was in front of her daughters Volvo. The Jaguar slid into the Volvo. The impact sent Drake’s car into a tree. She died at a hospital five hours later. Her 4-week-old son, Jayden, was strapped into the back seat and escaped injury. McKeirnan described the horror of finding Drake and Jayden trapped in their mangled car. She said she cant sleep she cant eat. She said how can you live when you see your child like that. McKeirnan and her family want authorities to catch the motorist who drove away. They want justice to happen. They said that Alexandria Drake was the backbone of the family.

Today In the Union tribune I read about a gunmen killing dozens in an attack on a Pakistani police academy. The attacked started at 7:30 as hundreds of new recruits stood on the parade grounds. The first gunmen tossed a grenade over the barrier wall to set off the chain of unfortunate events. Shortly after this armed gunmen broke through the rear gates in a hail of gunfire hitting unarmed trainees. The gunmen quickly made the guards of the facility fall back in a defensive position. The guards and trainees where left helpless because the academy guns stay locked in the facility. At the end of the assault the gunmen made their final stand on the third floor of the academy. Some of the gunmen blew them selves up rather than avoid capture. four gunmen were taken into custody yesterday and will be questioned on the attacks. In local news after 3.5 billion dollars the United States has completed its first laser. This laser has the power of the sun and combines hydrogen atoms together rather than splitting them. This laser has the same power as a vacuum bomb and is also environmentally friendly.
In today’s paper I read about how 3 major drug seizures were made at the Otay Mesa and San Ysidro ports of entry. The largest seizure occurred early in the morning when agents inspected a bus and found 254 packages of marijuana, weighing more than 1,300 pounds and valued at $790,000. In the second of the three seizures, a 2004 GMC pickup towing a trailer was sent to secondary inspection. After implementing the drug dogs agents found 1,000 pounds of marijuana behind the bathroom wall of the trailer. The estimated value of the pot was $611,000, and the 55 year old driver of El Cajon was arrested. The final seizure occurred when agents arrested a woman who was in a possession of 33 packages of methamphetamine. While drugs weighed only 57 pounds, their street value was estimated at a whopping $860,000, making the drug three times more expensive than gold. In another, two thirteen year old boys managed to escape a potential kidnapping on their way to school. The two Mission Middle School students told authorities later that one of the men was black, 20 to 25 years old, of medium build and wore a red ball cap. The other man was said to be a white male, likely younger than his accomplice, and had spiky, dark blond hair. In another story, Border Patrol agents have successfully closed a major crude tunnel discovered about a mile west of the Otay Mesa port of entry. The agents that were monitoring the area said that they saw a man climb up from the tunnel, and quickly arrested the man and closed of the area. In a related story, Mexico’s war against ruthless drug traffickers may not be its only battle. The image that drug dealers have created for themselves is having significant affects on Mexico’s popular culture. Children are looking up to these extremely wealthy and well revered criminals, and they want to grow up to be just like them. Straying away from the adoration these criminals regularly receive is not made any easier, as they constantly bribe poor villages with cash, toys for children, and food giveaways and charities. For as long as anyone can remember, Mexico has had some sort of fascination with the rebel, rogue image. However, if the Country ever realizes the seriousness of their problem, they will have to work to discredit and diminish the fame and fortune that these scumbags regrettably receive.
